Marcus pulled out his phone calmly. The room froze. Every eye in the hall turned to him. Even Damien’s smug grin faltered slightly.

He dialed without a word. His fingers moved with precision, steady. Silence pressed on the hall like a heavy fog.

A few moments later, Damien perked up. “Ah! My uncle is calling,” he announced loudly, trying to sound in control. He held the phone up, pressing the speaker button. “He’ll clear this mess and we will all know who's the boss here. Let everyone hear it.”

The hall quieted further. Phones lowered. Whispers ceased. Even the guards straightened. Damien’s arrogance radiated off him, like he had already won.

Then the voice came. Thick, booming, cutting across the hall.

“What have you done Damien, why have you offended someone that's bigger than all of us this time?" He thundered and Damien's face instantly drained off colour.

"How many times have I warned you to stay clear of trouble that is bigger than you, do you intend for the family to sink!" Uncle Jack thundered.

"You're going to get on your knees and apologize to them right this moment."

The tone didn’t ask—it demanded. Authority, anger, and disbelief packed into every word.

The hall went silent, as they could only watch Damien's expression Not a single breath escaped anyone’s lips. Damien’s smile stiffened. Lena’s heels clicked nervously against the floor.

“Uncle?” Damien stammered, trying to sound calm. “It’s nothing. Just a misunderstanding…”

The line went dead. Not because it hung up.

"What did he say?" Marcus raised his brows with heightened mockery.

Damien could feel the temperature in the room rise. He quickly adjusted his shirt and let's out a chuckle.

"He will get everything sorted out in a moment!" A wave of relief ran through the hall.

"Is that so!" Marcus inquired once again.

Damien's face broke into a spring of sweat as his words were broken by the nervousness he was trying to hide.

"Ye..s definitely.." He said quickly.

But just then.

The double doors swung open. Uncle Jack stormed in. Every step echoed. His gaze was sharp, burning and almost frightened like that of a little child.

Before Damien could react, a sharp slap cut across his face.

The sound cracked like a whip. Heads turned, mouths fell open. Damien staggered, stunned, his pride shattered before everyone.

Then Lena felt it—a hard slap across her cheek. Uncle Jack glared at her. “And you,” he growled, “misleading me, corrupting this boy’s mind. Do not think I am blind.”

Gasps ran through the hall. The guests froze, some stepping back instinctively. Even the guards hesitated, unsure where the authority now lay.

Jack fell to one knee before Marcus, bowing in a tense, formal apology. His voice was thick with regret. “I am sorry, Marcus Vale. I didn't train the bastard well I apologize for Damien’s actions. It will not happen again.”

The room’s tension shifted. Murmurs rippled through the hall. Even Damien’s allies looked around nervously.

Marcus stayed calm. His eyes, cold and steady, scanned the hall. Then he spoke.

“Tell everyone here the truth,” Marcus said. His voice carried over the murmurs. “Tell them what work you actually do. Tell them your connection with the heir.”

Jack straightened, swallowing hard. His pride and anger conflicted with the truth he had tried to hide for so long.

“I… I have no connection,” he admitted quickly. “I am… only a cleaner. I am well paid… but that is all. I lied before. I apologize.”

The hall froze again. Shock rippled like a wave. Whispers turned to gasps. Damien's heart dropped.

“Cleaner?” someone murmured. “The uncle Damien bragged about?”

Damien’s face burned red. Sweat dotted his temple. His mouth opened, closed, opened again—words failing him. Humiliation cracked his arrogance completely.

Jack turned his glare on Damien. “And you,” he barked. “Kneel. Apologize for your lies and your arrogance arrogance. If you do not, Cole Linked could erase everything your family holds in a blink.”

Damien’s shook as his pride shatter right before his eyes and his knees buckled. Gasps ran through the hall He dropped to the floor weakly, bowing his head in shame.

Lena's face went pale.

Marcus frowned, his expression unchanging. “I was not offended,” he said. “I did not command this punishment. But order has been restored.”

The crowd around them shifted nervously. Some stepped back, others stared in disbelief. Phones clicked, capturing every moment.

Finally, Damien and Jack turned to Ethan. Their voices shook as they spoke, apologizing.

Ethan watched quietly. He did not speak. He did not flinch. His face was calm, but his eyes carried cold authority. Damien’s humiliation doubled under his gaze.

Marcus stepped forward. “And now,” he said, “you and everyone involved in this hall, including your staff, will be disciplined. Corrected. Until it is clear that no disrespect will ever occur again.”

Orders flew. Guards moved swiftly. Staff were seized, disciplined. Damien and Lena were taken to a correctional center.

Lena, desperate, tried to escape as she was being led out. She bolted toward a side door. A guard caught her arm before she could flee. Her face twisted with fear and disbelief.

“I… I can fix this!” she cried, looking at Ethan. “I can… I can give you anything you want! I’ll do whatever you say!”

Ethan’s lips pressed into a firm line. His disgust was clear. “No. You will not manipulate me. Your punishment will be doubled. I do not roll with whores.”

The hall fell silent again. Lena’s begging echoed faintly as she was dragged out, her words meaningless against the authority in the room.

Once the hall cleared, Marcus turned to Ethan. His expression softened, almost relieved. “I apologize for my incompetence. I did not expect this level of chaos.”

Ethan shook his head slightly. “It’s nothing. You cannot control everyone. Their arrogance was not your fault.”

Marcus nodded, understanding. “You’ve shown restraint, Prince Ethan. Patience beyond what anyone could expect."

Ethan’s eyes hardened, thinking of the next steps. “Now, let’s meet the stakeholders of Stafford Company. Are you ready?”

Marcus glanced at him. “The people you are about to meet… are usually described as a pack of wolves.”
