Chapter 02

Marcus gets pointed a Gun.

He stood up at that instant.

"Pow!" The old man fires bullets at him.

But Marcus dodges swiftly like nothing was fired at him, rushing in split seconds towards Mr. Monavi who kicks him to his stomach.

The two fly right into the air as they exchange fighting techniques, with Marcus getting the upper hand as he disarms the gun, opening the gun till Mr. Monavi was left with a bullet spring in his hand and this caused Monavi to immediately dismiss the fight with Marcus.

"You're indeed capable! your mentor Guran sent you isn't it?" The old man said, calling the name of the man who trained and took care of Marcus since he was a kid as he landed over his chair, staring right at him, with a burning question.

"I thought so too, why would a man who my own master saved years ago want to kill me and I also felt your Chi... It seems you're unwell." Marcus tells Mr. Monavi as sadness covers his face in return.

"Old age happens boy, so tell me Marcus... Why did your master send you to me?" Mr. Monavi asked.

"After my mentor saved your life, you both had an agreement." Marcus said as he handed Monavi an engagement letter to read through.

Mr. Elion read through it again before seeing where he had sealed the marriage between his granddaughter and Marcus years ago with his thumb print stamped with his blood.

"Indeed, I made an oath here to ensure my promise was met and I promise you here that it will be done... Welcome my grandSon - Inlaw." The old man welcomes Marcus once again.

"It is good that you came today, my entire family is around so I will make this announcement as soon as possible." The old man said as he got up with Marcus.

"Follow me." The old man calls out to Marcus who follows him through the huge mansion till he has reached the dining table.

"Welcome." The entire family waiting at the dining for Mr. Monavi watched him enter with a handsome Marcus who walked by his side.

"Have a seat." The old man says, stretching his hand towards a chair for Marcus to sit.

"You may all sit." He orders.

Never before had Mr. Monavi allowed a non-family member to share a male on their tables so the family members found his behavior odd as they kept looking at Marcus weirdly, literally making him feel like he was not welcomed.

"I know you all are probably thinking why I allowed a stranger to dine with us and I will be extremely clear to state that it is because I have an announcement to make." Mr. Monavi said firmly to the entire family who kept silent to learn more about it.

"The man you see before you is my grandSon Inlaw, years ago his mentor saved my life and I made a deal to appreciate him saving my life by him to be part of my family too." Mr. Monavi said so powerfully.

"He is called Marcus and he will be getting married to my granddaughter Ciara." The old man said whilst Ciara's mother got up in shock as she looked at Ciara's grandfather.

"You can't do this." She objects.

"Why not?" Mr. Monavi asked back.

"I mean look at him... He doesn't look anything Like the class meant for Ciara, please daddy don't let this happen, I can't bear it." Ciara's mother said while Ciara stayed still.

Ciara and Marcus Locked eyes and she blushed while he stared deep into her eyes.

Ciara was definitely beautiful but Marcus had been with way more beautiful ladies so getting to love her was something he wanted to try out.

"His master saved my life years ago and I am only paying back the favor I stamped with my blood, what is so difficult for you to understand woman!" Grandpa Monavi fires back at her.

"She's supposed to get married to someone better, not this loser of a man!" Her mother added.

"Mum!" Ciara spoke out in correction to her mother's behavior, while holding her mother's hand to stop her from overreacting in the parlor.

"I can't accept this Ciara." Her mother added Whilsts holding onto the table as she glared at Marcus who stayed cool over his seat.

"Ohh I see." Monavi smiled back at them.

"Well as you can see, my daughter will be getting married to this man. He is an agent of the black clan and his master saved my life years ago, and I promised to give whoever he wanted to my granddaughter to marry, do you understand?" Mr. Monavi asked Ciara's mother who stood there in shock, and feared losing her daughter.

"Back me up somebody!" Monavi asked in his old man's crooked voice.

"Well, I am fully ready to fall in love with your daughter and I promise to protect and love her with all the knowledge I have learned from my clan, the black clan." Marcus backs Monavi.

"He is a trained fighter, he will do you good." Monavi adds as he looks at his granddaughter.

The majority of the family members stood behind Ciara's parents back.

But Whilsts Mr. Monavi watched the majority of the family reject the marriage, Ciara walks towards her grandpa and holds Marcus's hand from behind him as they stared at them surprised.

"Ciara?" Her mother called her, heartbroken.

Ciara's entire family wondered why she would choose someone she just met over marrying a rather wealthy person but they all did not understand why Ciara stood against their decisions and accepted that of her grandpa.

Mr. Monavi turned to see his Daughter holding Marcus's hand in acceptance.

"I would marry him according to grandpa's wish, this is so that, his promise to Marcus's master does not go in vain." Ciara elegantly said.

"Really, you would marry him?" her Grandpa excited says back to her hugging her.

"Obviously Not! I was joking, you need to cancel this engagement because I don't want to get married to him, please grandpa, I beg of you." Ciara pleaded to her grandfather.

Mr. Monavi turns away from her in disappointment.

"I have made myself clear and the deal has been sealed, you will get married to him as soon as possible." Mr. Elion announces.

"Wait then you know that I have school so I would like to postpone this marriage till I am done with high school, if it is fine with you." Ciara spoke up, looking at both her grandpa and Marcus.

Ciara was incredibly good at acting!
