He slowly leans closer to my ear and whispers, “Did you sleep well?”

I just keep looking at him with tear-filled eyes unable to say anything.

With a faint smile, he says, “No baby… don’t cry. This is just the beginning.”

My heart starts pounding loudly fear and uneasiness rising together inside me.

Suddenly, he moves closer… for a moment, my breath stops. I try to pull away, but he abruptly lets go of me.

I fall onto the bed… still unable to steady myself.

Then his cold, commanding voice echoes, “Come in.”

Startled, I turn my gaze toward the door, Two lady doctors walk into the room.

He looks at them with an angry expression and says, “You have only 10 minutes.”

Saying this, he walks out of the room without looking back.

The door closes behind him… and the room suddenly feels heavy and silent.

I sit frozen on the bed, my body trembling slightly.

One of the lady doctors steps closer, her voice gentle, “Ma’am… please relax. We are here to help you.”

I shake my head weakly, my voice breaking, “It… it hurts… everywhere…”

The second doctor exchanges a worried glance with her colleague and moves closer with a medical kit.

“Don’t worry,” she says softly, “we’ll take care of you.”

They carefully check me, their touch cautious and professional. I wince in pain, gripping the bedsheet tightly.

A tear rolls down my cheek as I whisper, “Please… be gentle…”

One of them nods, “We understand. Just try to stay calm.”

After a few minutes, she applies medicine and hands me some tablets with water.

“Take these. They’ll help with the pain,” she says.

I hesitate for a moment… then look at them with shaky eyes and ask, “Did… did he send you here? For my treatment?”

The first doctor gives a small nod, “Yes, ma’am. Sir asked us to come and take care of you.”

I let out a hollow laugh, mixed with pain, “Care…? Is this what he calls care?”

The second doctor lowers her gaze slightly, “We don’t know much, ma’am… but he was very strict about your treatment.”

I look away, confused… hurt… and unable to understand him.

“You should rest now,” the first doctor says gently, adjusting the blanket over me, “Your body needs recovery.”

Before leaving, she pauses and adds softly, “If you feel worse, call us immediately.”

The door suddenly swings open with a sharp sound, and his heavy footsteps fill the room as he walks in, his presence instantly making the air tense. His cold eyes scan the room before stopping at the doctors, and in a deep, commanding voice he says, “Time’s up.”

Both doctors stiffen and quickly nod, one of them replying, “Yes, sir… we are done.”

There is a brief pause, but then one doctor gathers courage and speaks again, her voice slightly shaky, “Sir… she is very weak, and her body needs proper care. She is also very young… only eighteen. She needs rest and gentle treatment.”

The second doctor softly adds, “If proper care is not given, it may affect her health.”

For a moment, he just stares at them, his jaw tightening, and then his expression darkens. He takes a step forward, his voice turning dangerously cold as he snaps, “I didn’t ask for your advice.”

The doctors flinch at his tone, and he continues, his voice louder now, filled with authority, “Do your job… and leave. Right now.”

Both doctors quickly nod, clearly frightened, “Yes, sir… we are leaving.” Without wasting another second, they gather their things hurriedly and rush out of the room.

The door closes behind them, leaving a heavy silence. I sit there, clutching the bedsheet tightly, my heart pounding in fear as he slowly turns toward me. His dark gaze locks onto mine, and he takes a slow step closer.

My breath trembles as I lower my eyes, unable to face him. He stops just in front of me, his voice low but firm as he says, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

I swallow hard, my voice barely coming out, “Please… just let me go…”

His lips curl slightly, not quite a smile, not quite anger, as he replies, “Go? You still don’t understand, do you? This is your place now.”

I shake my head frantically, tears streaming down my face.

“No… I didn’t do anything! I swear… it wasn’t me! I have no fault in this!” my voice trembles as I try to make him understand.

He watches me silently for a moment… then exhales slowly, his expression unreadable.

“I know.”

I freeze.

My breath stops for a second.

“W-what…?” I whisper, completely stunned.

He looks straight into my eyes and repeats, coldly, “I know you didn’t do it.”

My heart pounds wildly.

“Then why…? Why are you doing this to me?” I ask, my voice breaking.

His jaw tightens, and his gaze darkens.

“Because Peter didn’t choose randomly.”

He pauses… then continues, “He was obsessed with you.”

He steps closer, his voice low and dangerous,

“He liked you. Wanted you. And to get you… he killed your sister.”

“Watch the news.”

Before I can react, he picks up the remote and switches on the TV.

The screen lights up, My heart starts racing uncontrollably. On the screen… I see her.

My sister, Her picture. My breath catches in my throat.

“N-no…”

The news anchor’s voice echoes, “In the case of the murder of this young woman, Peter Fernandes has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.”

My legs feel weak. I stare at the screen, unable to move.

The anchor continues, “According to sources, Peter confessed to the crime. He is currently in critical condition inside the jail after a violent incident.”

My hands start trembling.

“This… this can’t be real…” I whisper, my voice barely audible.

My eyes remain fixed on the screen… as more footage appears.

A sob escapes my lips, “Oh my God…”

My eyes remain fixed on the TV screen… my mind refusing to accept what I just heard.

“No… this doesn’t make sense…” I whisper, shaking my head slowly.

I turn toward him, confusion and disbelief filling my voice, “How…? How is this even possible?”

He stays silent.

That silence makes my heartbeat faster.

I take a step closer, my brows furrowing, “How is Peter in jail?”

My voice rises slightly now.

“He controls everything… the system, the police… he literally buys people!”

I look back at the screen, my hands trembling.

“How can someone like him get arrested?”

No response.

He just stands there… watching me.

That calmness scares me more than anything.

“Answer me!” I say, my voice breaking this time.

His lips curl slightly… not quite a smile… something darker.

Then finally, he speaks, “Because this time… money wasn’t enough.”

A chill runs down my spine, “What do you mean…?”

He walks slowly toward the window, his back now facing me.

“Men like him survive because they think they own the system,” he says calmly.

Then his tone drops, “But they forget… someone can control something bigger.”

My heart skips a beat.

I stare at his back, realization slowly forming.

“You…” I whisper.

He doesn’t deny it.

Instead, he says, “I made sure he got arrested.”

My eyes widen in shock.

“You… what?”

I step closer, disbelief written all over my face.

“You’re telling me you sent him to jail?”

He turns slightly, his sharp gaze locking onto mine.

“I didn’t just send him to jail,” he says quietly.

His voice turns colder, “I made sure he confessed.”

My breath catches.

“But… how…?”

He starts walking toward me again, slow… controlled… dangerous.

“Pain… fear… isolation…” he says in a low voice, “everyone breaks at some point.”

My stomach drops.

I take a step back without realizing it.

“You… you tortured him?”

He stops right in front of me.

Silence.

“I gave him a choice,” he says calmly, “Confess… or death.”

Tears fill my eyes again.

“This is wrong…” I whisper.

His expression hardens instantly.

“Wrong?” he repeats.

“He killed sarah.”

I shake my head, my voice trembling, “But this… this isn’t justice…”

His eyes darken.

“Justice?” he scoffs softly, “There’s no such thing.”

The air between us feels heavy. My chest tightens as I whisper, “You are a monster.”

A soft knock breaks the silence as a maid enters the room and places a tray of breakfast beside me, saying politely, “Ma’am, your breakfast,”

Before quietly leaving. The smell of food hits me, and I realize how hungry I am, so with slightly trembling hands, I start eating, trying to ignore everything around me.

But I can feel his gaze on me, heavy and intense, making my heartbeat faster. I try to focus on the food, but suddenly I sense him moving closer. His footsteps stop right behind me, too close, making my breath hitch.

Before I can react, he leans in, and a sharp sensation near my neck makes me flinch, a soft gasp escaping my lips. I freeze completely, my body going still as fear spreads through me. His low voice comes near my ear, calm yet dangerous, “Keep eating.”

My hands shake as I continue, forcing myself to take another bite. He straightens slightly and says in a controlled tone, “You have your breakfast…”

Then pauses before adding in a darker voice, “And I’ll have mine.” A chill runs down my spine, and I don’t dare turn back.

Tears blur my vision as they finally fall, and I can’t stop myself from crying; a soft sob escapes my lips as I whisper to myself, “I can’t stay here like this…”

He watches me for a moment, his expression unreadable, but without saying anything, he turns and walks away, leaving me alone in the suffocating silence. After a while, I wipe my tears and take a shaky breath, forcing myself to stand, “No… I have to be strong,”

I murmur, gathering courage as I step out of the room and slowly walk through the huge, silent villa, my footsteps echoing around me.

Everything feels cold and unfamiliar, and I look around nervously when suddenly I freeze as a faint sound reaches my ears, “What… was that?” I whisper, my heart starting to race.

I listen carefully, and then I hear it again… a soft but repeated knocking sound coming from upstairs. My throat goes dry as I look toward the staircase, “Is… someone there?” I say under my breath, fear is creeping in, but curiosity pushes me forward. Slowly, I climb the stairs, each step making the sound clearer, louder, more desperate.

The air upstairs feels colder, darker, and when I finally reach the top, my eyes fall on a closed door at the end of the hallway.

The knocking is coming from inside. Someone is hitting the door. My breath trembles as I take slow steps toward it, whispering, “Who… who’s there?”

My hand shakes as I reach out toward the handle… and suddenly, the knocking stops. Complete silence. I freeze, my heart pounding wildly as I stand there, barely breathing, and whispering again, even more softly this time, “Hello…?”

But there is no answer only a terrifying silence, as if whatever is inside already knows I’m standing right outside.

I turn to leave, my steps are quick and unsteady, whispering to myself, “No… I shouldn’t be here…”

But before I can take another step, a loud BANG! BANG! echoes from the door again, this time much stronger. I freeze in place, my heart jumping into my throat. “Oh God…”

I gasp, clutching my chest as fear grips me tighter. The sound is desperate now, aggressive, like someone is trying to break free.

My mind races who could be inside? My eyes slowly move back to the door, my breathing uneven. “Is… someone locked in there?” I whisper, my voice trembling.

Another loud hit makes me flinch, and I step back instinctively. Panic starts rising inside me. What kind of place is this? What kind of man locks people up like this?

A shiver runs down my spine as a terrifying thought crosses my mind that monster… who has he kept trapped inside?
