Chapter 1: The Sovereign Gambit
Alpha King Kaelen of the Frostfang Empire stood in the shadowed arches of the high balcony, his eyes fixed on the dais below.
For seven months, his intelligence network had intercepted battle ledgers from the Silvermoon border. On paper, Alpha Darian took credit for the victories along the Whispering Pass. But Kaelen knew Darian’s mind the man was a blunt instrument. The real genius behind those flawless defense formations was the quiet woman standing beside him in simple silver silk: Seraphina.
Kaelen needed that mind.
The Frostfang Empire was leaking gold. For a year, war funds had vanished from his southern supply lines. Kaelen assumed it was simply greedy southern dukes lining their pockets a minor nuisance he planned to crush once he had proof. But he needed an independent auditor to trace the paper trail.
Below, the hall music died.
Alpha Darian stepped forward, his voice amplified by pack magic. "Seraphina of the Silvermoon line. You carry no wealth or political leverage. As Alpha, I officially reject the fated bond between us, strip your citizenship, and banish you effective at dawn."
Gasps echoed through the noble crowd. Darian sneered, taking the hand of a wealthy elder’s daughter.
Kaelen leaned against the stone balustrade, a quiet, amused spark in his eyes.
Fool, Kaelen thought.
Under Northern Law, banishing a wolf without a formal trial stripped them of citizenship and the Crown held the absolute right to claim any unrepresented strategist carrying classified military knowledge. Darian hadn't just humiliated his mate; he had legally handed Kaelen his pack's greatest asset.
"Guards!" Darian barked. "Lock this outcast in the outer cells until dawn!"
Kaelen stepped out of the shadows, releasing a fraction of his royal aura.
BOOM.
The heavy air in the hall turned to lead. Torch flames flattened. Fifty Silvermoon guards dropped to their knees, gasping under the sudden weight of a Supreme Alpha King.
Darian hit the stone dais on all fours, choking as sweat poured into his eyes. "W-what... is this?!"
Kaelen’s heavy leather boots echoed steadily as he descended the grand staircase. The crowd scrambled backward, terrified to draw the breath of the Northern Sovereign.
Kaelen stopped three feet from Seraphina leaving a respectful distance between them. Up close, the faint scent of pine and star-lilies rolled off her skin. But it was the cold, analyzing calculation in her violet eyes that held his attention. She didn't flinch. She didn't cower.
Kaelen extended his hand, palm up, offering a choice. "Are you finished letting an amateur waste your talent, Lady Seraphina?"
Seraphina looked down at his open hand, then up into his eyes, setting her jaw. She didn't take his hand. "Alpha King Kaelen. I doubt you crossed three territories just to play savior to a banished outcast."
Kaelen lowered his hand without a hint of offense, a quiet chuckle warming his chest. Sharp. She doesn't bend for power.
"Savior? No," Kaelen said, turning his gaze to Darian on the floor. "Under Coalition Law, an unlawful banishment activates the Crown’s right to protect and recruit unrepresented strategic officers. By stripping her citizenship, Darian, you surrendered all legal claim over her. Seraphina is officially under the protection of the Frostfang Crown."
Darian choked out a protest. "She knows all our defense ciphers! You can't just take her!"
"You didn't just lose your strategist, Darian," Kaelen replied, stepping beside Seraphina matching her pace rather than shielding her like a child. "You legally transferred her to your Sovereign."
Kaelen looked back at Seraphina, indicating the open doors with a slight nod of his head. "The choice is yours. Stay in his cell at dawn, or take a seat on my High Council."
Seraphina looked from Darian’s frantic, greedy face back to Kaelen's unyielding expression. She folded her arms over her chest, her chin lifted high.
"I'll take the cabinet seat," Seraphina said, stepping past him toward the entrance. "But understand this, Your Majesty I report to the law, not to your ego."
Kaelen followed her out into the freezing night, a quiet, genuine smile touching his lips.
As they boarded his royal carriage, Seraphina sat across from him, looking at him with razor-sharp focus.
"You think your only problem is greedy dukes stealing gold in the south, don't you?" she asked, leaning forward slightly.
Kaelen tilted his head. "It is a simple matter of embezzling lords."
"It isn't," Seraphina countered, her voice calm and absolute. "I spent last month cross-referencing your empire's public supply ledgers. You have duplicate grain allocations along the southern border and payroll entries for regiments that officially don't exist. Someone high in your inner command is buying siege iron and feeding a private army inside your borders and you've been completely blind to it."
For the first time in ten years, Kaelen felt a cold spike of genuine shock hit his chest.
He stared at the woman sitting across from him. He had spent seven months studying her battlefield intelligence, completely unaware that while he was analyzing her tactics, she had spent the last month dismantling his empire's finances from afar.
He hadn't just recruited an advisor. He had invited the one person on the continent who could outthink him directly into his carriage.

I CLAIMED THE DISCARDED LUNA Chapter 11: The New Order
The high stone archways of the Sovereign Hall echoed with the harsh clatter of iron as the veteran guards of the 4th Infantry hauled Lord Regent Varick and his six conspirators down the marble steps.Varick’s heavy velvet robes dragged through the dust, his frantic screaming fading into the deep stone corridors of the lower dungeons. The remaining noble lords stood frozen in two sharp rows, their faces pale, holding their breath as Alpha King Kaelen wiped his broadsword with a dark silk cloth and returned it to its scabbard with a sharp, echoing click. The atmosphere in the hall had shifted entirely. The suffocating, heavy Alpha aura that Kaelen had unleashed during the confrontation subsided into a steady, magnetic authority that filled the vast chamber.Beside the throne, General Vane stepped forward, his posture straight and his hand resting on the hilt of his ceremonial sidearm. He turned to face the remaining lords, his raspy voice cutting through the quiet."By decree of the Sov

The quiet of the chamber stretched long and heavy after Vane’s admission. The old soldier remained on his knee, his head bowed, waiting for the blade or the order of execution.Kaelen didn't draw his sword. He stood above his former commander, looking down at the scarred man who had carried him off the blood of Red Ridge ten years ago. His crimson eyes held no rage only the cold, unyielding weight of a King who had finally taken full possession of his throne."Get up, Vane," Kaelen commanded, his deep voice cutting through the silence.Vane blinked, slowly raising his head. "Sire?""You failed me the moment you decided to protect the boy instead of trusting the King," Kaelen said, his tone razor-sharp. "You fought a shadow war alone, and in doing so, you almost handed my continent to traitors.""I am ready to accept whatever punishment""Your punishment," Kaelen interrupted smoothly, "is that you will stand at my right hand tomorrow morning and help us burn this conspiracy to the grou

I CLAIMED THE DISCARDED LUNA Chapter 9: The Shadow Breach
The northern storm followed them down from the peaks, blanketing the valley in a thick sheet of white fog. By midnight, the black stone spires of the Frostfang Citadel loomed out of the mist like giant, silent sentinels. At the edge of the outer tree line, Kaelen reined in his stallion. Beside him, Seraphina and their three surviving vanguard guards pulled their grey cloaks tight against the freezing sleet."The main gate is garrisoned by thirty Royal Crown Guards," Kaelen said low, his eyes scanning the torchlit battlements above the drawbridge. "If the High Council ordered the ambush in the pass, the gate captain already has instructions to detain us the moment we show our signet.""We aren't using the gate," Seraphina replied, unrolling a hand-drawn leather map against her saddle horn. She pointed a gloved finger at the base of the eastern cliff, where the citadel’s outer wall met the sheer granite face of the mountain. "When your father built the keep forty years ago, he installed

The cold air inside the subterranean bunker smelled of damp stone and bitter dried herbs.Kaelen stood before the mountain of wooden crates, a single vial of the glowing blue wolfsbane extract resting in his gloved palm. The pale light reflected off the hard angles of his jaw, his crimson eyes unreadable.Beside him, Seraphina ran her fingers over the wax seal stamped into the side of a transport crate."The seal belongs to the Northern Imperial Pharmacy," Seraphina said softly, her voice echoing off the stone walls. "Wolfsbane processing at this concentration requires a high royal permit. It isn't made in back-alley laboratories, Kaelen. It was refined inside your own capital capital's alchemy wing."Kaelen’s fingers tightened around the glass vial. "The capital alchemists report directly to the High Council of Dukes. The same council that dispatched the Royal Crown Guard to cut us off in the pass.""And the same council that pushed you to strip Vane of his command at sunrise," Serap
