The Magician's Revenge

Chapter Eight

Tony was waiting for Mason outside the mansion with his car. He was not comfortable with Mason's idea of stealing John's magic wand and spell book but he knew he had to help Mason through this difficult time.

After a while, Mason came out from the house and dashing towards the car hastily.

"Drive, drive, I could find the stupid spell book" Mason said as soon as he entered the car.

Tony, who was already breathing fast, started the car and zoomed off.

Tony took Mason to his home where he lived alone, as he had no children of his own.

He lives in a small house but even though it is small it was warm and welcoming, filled with peace and quietness.

Now that Mason is coming to stay with him, it feels like something changed in the air, as he looks forward to taking care of Mason .

As they reached a small house at the edge of the city, Tony opened the wooden door and stepped aside allowing Mason to enter first. Mason was hesitating to enter as Tony watched him and noticed immediately he placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Come inside, Mason, you can stay here for now" Tony said softly with his voice filled with kindness.

The room was modest and simple but with the scent of fresh bread in the air and a small crackle of fire can be heard.

The furniture was simple as well, such as a wooden table and a few shelves filled with ancient magic books. Upon entering the house, Tony began to move about tidying a few things but his focus was always on Mason .

After tidying the place he turned to Mason who just stood there silently.

"I know things have been hard for you but you don't have to worry anymore, Mason...you are safe now" Tony said with a soft and understanding tone.

He led him to a chair by the fire and handed him a blanket.

"You don't have to worry yourself about not having a spell book and magic wand, I'm sure your parents would have a reason they didn't leave any behind" Tony said softly.

Mason sat there quietly as he clutched the blanket. Tony knelt beside him while looking at him with pity.

"You don't have to do anything right now, just rest and we will take things one day at a time, together and always remember Mason, you are not a burden to me...you are family" Tony whispers softly.

His words felt comforting for Mason but he didn't say anything but the tension on his face shortened. Tony then stood up to give him time to adjust to the new environment but he kept a watchful eye on him, making sure he felt at ease.

Mason was deeply grateful for Tony's hospitality as he showed him around the house, he could feel his kindness. He had never expected such kindness from a stranger especially after everything he had been through.

Tony found a sense of purpose in looking after Mason and Mason also found comfort in Tony's 's care.

Tony led him down a narrow corridor as the sound of the old wooden house floor was creaking at every step they took.

"Come, Mason, let me show you to your room" Tony said nicely as he led him to his room.

The room was small but comfortable for Mason. It was a simple bed that was placed near the window, covered with hand made bed sheets and blankets with a design pattern of flowers.

Through the window, Mason can be able to see the garden and while the rays of the setting sun. In the room there was a wooden wardrobe and a small ancient bookshelf filled with old magic books that stood against the wall and thyme was also a rug covered in the floor.

"I know it's not much, but it's yours and you can rearrange it however you like and if you need anything just ask" Tony said as he made way for Mason to enter.

Mason stepped into the room as he used his hands to examine the bed and the room that was now his, it felt like he was a prince from a royal family.

"I hope you'll feel at home , you deserve a place to call your own" Tony said as he was standing at the doorway watching Mason as looked around his new surroundings.

For the first time in a long while, Mason felt a sense of belonging.

"Thank you Tony " Mason whispered, his voice barely audible but filled with emotion.

Tony smiled and said " I'll leave you to settle in, get some rest. Tomorrow is a new day and we will face it together" he said.

With that, Tony gently closed the door, leaving Mason alone in the room, feeling a sense of relief as he kept wondering what he might have been if Tony didn't agree to go with him.

As soon as Tony Left and the door shut, Mason sat at the edge of the bed still getting used to the new surroundings but all of a sudden without warning, the ancient super suit started to glow in Mason's bag. Mason rushed and opened the bag and was surprised to see it glowing.

"What the hell is this?, is this a dream or what?, am I hallucinating or something? Or am I haunted in this house" Mason was lost in thoughts.

He blinked as he was trying to make sense of what was happening but the suit glowing in front of him like he was dreaming.

Mason looked closely at the suit and there were some ancient magical inscribed words written on the suit that only he could see.

Mason saw his name written on it and was surprised and at the same time scared.

"What the hell is this, how does it know my name, is this some kind of witch craft or something" Mason wondered in fear.
