"I know exactly what you're trying to do. You're just playing games with me, aren't you?"

Marc scoffed at Grizelda.

Even if she let him hit her a hundred times, it wouldn't matter. She was simply too strong. And Marc was running out of ideas.

"You're talking too much," Grizelda said coldly, flashing a wide, confident grin. Whether Marc landed a hit or not, she didn’t care. She was already convinced he wouldn’t even come close.

"Go on. Try. Hit me again. Don’t waste my time."

Marc didn’t reply. His eyes locked onto hers, mind racing.

This isn’t as simple as I thought...

He had two shots left—two chances to strike without being countered. He had to make them count.

"Alright... let’s do this," he muttered.

Taking a deep breath, Marc made a bold decision. He tapped into the pure energy within his dantian—a force far more potent than regular cultivation energy. But it came with a price. It would drain him fast, and if he got hurt while using it, recovery would take very long.

Still, he had

For more than a decade, Kael had shown his interest in Skarleta. Throughout those years, the towering goblin never once abandoned his manners before the queen. Though she rejected his dinner invitations every single year, Kael never displayed anger. But a few days ago, when the envoy he sent was treated harshly by her, Kael finally showed that his patience had run thin.“Forgive me, Your Majesty. But is it truly wrong for a woman to test a man?” Skarleta spoke softly, her crimson lips curling into a faint smile. “I know it may have wounded Gravemoor’s honor, but I only did it to test the patience and sincerity of someone who never fails to come before me each year.”She had to play her words carefully—too much charm and this goblin king might see through her act.“Oh, really? I didn’t think the queen of Morven was such a smooth talker.” Kael’s reply was sharp, almost mocking. “But to me, that’s no excuse when it comes to affairs between kingdoms.”Her gentle tone and subtle coaxing se

  • Chapter 476 - Skarleta’s Reason

“This is suicide—coming here without an army.”Marc’s thoughts echoed clearly, heard by both women in front of him.“These men are all monsters. Even the weakest of them is on par with a cultivator at level twenty-five.”The goblin race knew nothing of cultivation like humans did, yet their bodies naturally grew stronger on their own—far surpassing mankind’s limits. And if their weakest could rival a level twenty-five cultivator, Marc could sense several who had already reached the equivalent of level fifty.Unbelievable.Skarleta only smiled. “They won’t dare come near us or make a move. At most, they’ll just stare.”The soldiers of Gravemoor knew well that the Queen of Morven was favored by their king. Crossing the line with her meant a noose around their necks. While Skarleta remained calm and poised, Miralda felt the opposite. Her heart was uneasy.“Marc is right. If their low-ranking soldiers are this strong, then what about their officers—let alone Kael himself?”It was Miralda’

  • Chapter 475 - A Hostile Welcome

Zing! Zing! Zing! The sharp sound of metal rang out as the gauntlet on Marc’s arm suddenly unfolded, summoning more pieces of armor that spread across his upper arm, then over his entire body. It didn’t stop at his neck—plates closed over his head and flowed down to his feet until Marc was fully encased in armor.“Wow! Not bad. Not bad at all!”Instead of feeling heavy and suffocating, Marc felt almost weightless, as if the armor had fused seamlessly with his body. Every movement was sharper, faster. What thrilled him most, however, was the helmet. Unlike ordinary armor, this one sealed his face completely, yet somehow enhanced his vision and hearing.Even though he wasn’t much of a superhero movie fan, Marc couldn’t help but feel like he looked exactly like one—only his armor wasn’t just futuristic, it was downright magical. As Marc stepped out of the tent, Skarleta and Miralda emerged as well. The sight of them made him nod faintly, whispering under his breath.“Damn… Skarleta and M

  • Chapter 474 - Journey to Gravemoor

“A towering build and that much raw strength—good choice of soldiers,” Marc remarked to Skarleta as twenty armored goblin warriors stepped forward to receive them. Each of these soldiers stood well over two meters tall—considerably taller than Marc himself, who was already six-foot-four.“Thank you for the compliment,” Skarleta replied with a smile. “That only means the defense department is doing its job well.”Moments later, four soldiers approached carrying a litter, then knelt before Skarleta.“Your Majesty, please,” said one officer politely. Judging from the insignia on his armor, he was likely a first-rank general.“No. I won’t need that. Bring me three horses and a few escorts, as I instructed earlier.”“As you command, Your Majesty.”The officer waved his hand, and the four soldiers bowed in unison before departing. Not long after, three mounted warriors returned, each leading an extra horse by the reins. They brought them to Skarleta, and Marc immediately furrowed his brow i

  • Chapter 473 - The Invisible Veil

“You goblins use powerful magic to hide your island. An invisible barrier that lets you see the outside world, but prevents outsiders from seeing in. An invisible veil.”Marc gave his answer. And it wasn’t called a veil without reason. It protected what was inside not only from prying eyes but also from anyone trying to reach it.“If those sailors kept following us in a straight line, eventually they’d lose their way and end up drifting back to their starting point. The veil manipulates their perception.”No matter how far anyone outside the veil sailed—or even if they soared across the skies—the island within would remain forever hidden from them.Skarleta smiled, satisfied with Marc’s explanation. But Miralda wasn’t so easily convinced.“You may be right about this invisible veil, Marc,” the duchess said. “But if it’s magic, then the largest barrier it could create should only cover about ten square kilometers.”Morven and Gravemoor were each nearly four times that size. If Miralda

  • Chapter 472 - The Journey Begins

“Marc, over here!”Miralda waved and called out, spotting the young man in the distance.Whispering Waves was an old pier, usually crowded during holiday seasons like this. Countless boats and midsized ships lined the docks, nearly all of them packed with travelers eager to visit the cluster of islands scattered off the southernmost coast of the kingdom.Yet, while the larger vessels swarmed with passengers, a row of small rowboats on the far side of the pier went almost entirely ignored. That was where Miralda and Skarleta had chosen to sit. Dressed in light summer gowns and wide-brimmed fedoras, they looked relaxed, basking in the soft warmth of the morning sun.“A rowboat? Across open sea? You’ve got to be kidding me!”Marc couldn’t believe it. Why would these two choose such a tiny vessel instead of something bigger and safer? According to the enchanted map, the distance from this shore to Morven Island was nearly forty kilometers. For ordinary people, it would take a day or two o
