The Hourglass
The message remained on Ethan Carter's phone. YOU HAVE ONE HOUR TO FIND HER. For several seconds, Ethan couldn't breathe. Olivia was alive. But someone had taken her. And whoever had her knew exactly how to manipulate Ethan. He looked at the photograph again. Olivia was sitting in a dark room, her hands apparently tied behind a chair. A large clock hung on the wall behind her. 1:00 a.m. Ethan checked his own watch. 1:03. Only fifty-seven minutes remained. “Where was that photograph taken?” he asked. Rachel Morgan studied the image. “I don't know.” “You've been involved with Daniel for seven years. You must recognize something.” Rachel zoomed in on the photograph. “The clock.” “What about it?” “It isn't showing the current time.” Ethan frowned. Rachel pointed at the background. “Look at the wall.” Ethan stared. Behind Olivia was a faded blue stripe. Then he noticed something else. A small metal plaque. Only two letters were visible. B.M. “Blackwood Medical?” Ethan asked. Rachel shook her head. “Blackwood Memorial Hospital.” Ethan's heart stopped. “That hospital closed fifteen years ago.” “Exactly.” Rachel grabbed her coat. “We're going there.” They left the warehouse through the rear entrance. Before getting into the car, Ethan stopped. “What about Daniel?” Rachel looked at him. “You heard his voice.” “Where is he?” “If I knew, I wouldn't have spent seven years looking for him.” “Then why did you say he was alive?” “Because I believe he is.” Ethan opened the driver's door. “That's not good enough.” Rachel climbed inside. “It will have to be.” The old hospital stood on the outskirts of the city. The building had been abandoned after a fire destroyed most of its upper floors. Ethan parked two streets away. They approached on foot. The entrance was chained shut. Rachel pulled out a small metal cutter. “You carry that around often?” “Only when I expect trouble.” The chain snapped. They entered. The smell of dust and smoke filled Ethan's lungs. Their footsteps echoed through the empty lobby. Ethan looked around. A strange feeling came over him. He had been here before. Not recently. Seven years ago. A memory appeared. He was lying on a hospital bed. Olivia was sitting beside him. A doctor was speaking. And someone stood behind a glass window. Daniel. Ethan blinked. The image disappeared. “Did you remember something?” Rachel asked. “Yes.” “What?” “This place.” Rachel looked worried. “Then don't force it.” “Why?” “Because memories can be dangerous.” They moved deeper into the building. Suddenly Ethan noticed a row of old patient files scattered across the floor. He picked one up. The paper was burned around the edges. One name remained visible. ETHAN CARTER. Rachel grabbed it. “Put that down.” “Why?” “Because you weren't treated here.” Ethan stared at her. “What?” “You were brought here.” “What is the difference?” Rachel looked at him. “A patient comes to a hospital for treatment.” She lowered her voice. “You were brought here for something else.” Ethan's stomach tightened. “What?” Rachel didn't answer. A sound came from the hallway. A door slammed. They immediately turned. “Someone's here,” Ethan whispered. They followed the noise. At the end of the hallway was a locked room. Rachel tried the handle. Nothing. Ethan noticed a keypad beside it. Four numbers. He suddenly remembered Olivia's voice. “What's your birthday?” He entered the date. The door opened. Inside was a control room. Old monitors covered one wall. Most were dead. One still worked. The screen showed Olivia. She was still tied to the chair. Ethan rushed toward the monitor. “Olivia!” She couldn't hear him. A countdown appeared. 52:14 Rachel stared at the screen. “It's a live feed.” Ethan searched the room. “There must be a way to contact her.” A speaker crackled. Then a man's voice filled the room. “Hello, Ethan.” Ethan froze. Daniel. “Where is my sister?” “You're asking the wrong question.” “What question should I ask?” “Why did you forget?” Ethan clenched his fists. “Tell me where she is.” “You have fifty-one minutes.” “Daniel!” The screen changed. A second video appeared. It showed Ethan seven years earlier. He was sitting in this same room. Across from him sat Daniel. Young Ethan looked exhausted. Daniel placed a small black box on the table. “You're going to forget everything,” Daniel said. Ethan watched the recording in disbelief. His younger self nodded. “Do it.” Rachel whispered, “No…” Ethan looked at her. “You knew about this.” “I suspected.” The recording continued. Daniel asked, “Are you sure?” Young Ethan answered: “If they capture Olivia, they'll use her against me.” Daniel leaned forward. “Then we need another plan.” Ethan shook his head. “There isn't one.” Daniel looked toward the camera. “You won't remember me.” Young Ethan smiled sadly. “That might be the only way to keep everyone alive.” The video stopped. Ethan stared at the black screen. He finally understood. His memory hadn't been stolen. He had given it away. But why? Daniel's voice returned through the speaker. “You chose to forget because you knew what The Meridian was planning.” “What were they planning?” “To destroy everyone who had evidence against them.” “Then why frame me?” “Because after you lost your memory, you became useless to them.” Ethan stared at the screen. “And the money?” “You weren't stealing it.” “Then who was?” Daniel's voice became quiet. “Your employer.” Ethan's eyes widened. “The money was Meridian's.” “No. It was evidence.” “What kind of evidence?” “A list.” “What list?” “The names of everyone working for them.” The monitor suddenly went black. Ethan hit the desk. “Daniel!” No response. Rachel grabbed his arm. “We have to move.” “Where?” “Find Olivia.” “How?” Rachel looked around. “There's something missing.” “What?” “The camera.” Ethan frowned. “What do you mean?” “If this is a live feed, the camera must be somewhere nearby.” They searched the room. Ethan noticed a ventilation grille. Behind it was a small cable. He pulled. A hidden panel opened. Inside was a narrow staircase leading underground. Rachel looked at him. “This wasn't on the hospital plans.” “Then we're going the right way.” They descended. The staircase led to a long corridor. At the end was a steel door. A sign above it read: ARCHIVE B — RESTRICTED Ethan opened it. Rows of shelves filled the room. Boxes were labeled with dates. He found one marked: CARTER, ETHAN — 2019 He opened it. Inside were medical records, photographs, and a small cassette tape. Rachel picked up the tape. “What is it?” Ethan saw his own handwriting on the label. PLAY ONLY IF OLIVIA IS MISSING. They found an old player. Ethan inserted the cassette. His own voice filled the room. “If you're hearing this, something went wrong.” Ethan stared at Rachel. The recording continued. “Don't trust Daniel.” Ethan's blood ran cold. “Don't trust Rachel.” Rachel stepped backward. “Ethan…” His recorded voice continued. “Most importantly, don't trust Olivia.” The tape clicked. Silence. Then another voice whispered from behind them. “You were always stubborn.” Ethan turned. Daniel stood in the doorway. Alive. Holding a gun. Rachel immediately raised hers. Daniel smiled. “Put it down, Rachel.” She didn't. Daniel looked at Ethan. “You finally remembered.” Ethan stared at him. “Did you kill me?” Daniel's smile disappeared. “No.” “Then why did I have a funeral?” Daniel took one step forward. “Because everyone needed to believe I was dead.” “Who is Olivia working for?” Daniel's expression changed. Before he could answer, the lights went out. A gunshot exploded. Ethan felt someone grab him. He fell. When the emergency lights came back on, Rachel was gone. Daniel was gone. And the archive door was open. Ethan's phone vibrated. A message appeared. A photograph of Olivia. But this time she wasn't alone. Standing behind her was Rachel. And Rachel was holding a gun against Olivia's head. Under the photograph were four words: “Trust no one, Ethan.” Then the countdown appeared again. 00:38:42 Thirty-eight minutes remained. Ethan stared at the screen. He had spent seven years searching for the truth. Now the truth was everywhere. Daniel was alive. Rachel might be a killer. Olivia might be part of the conspiracy. And Ethan himself had chosen to erase his own memory. But one question remained. What had he done seven years ago that made forgetting seem safer than remembering? Then another message arrived. This one contained only a location. ROOM 17. Ethan looked down the dark corridor. A faint sound came from behind the next door. Someone was crying. A woman's voice. “Ethan…” He knew that voice. Olivia. He ran toward it. But before he reached the door, his phone rang. Daniel's number. Ethan answered. Daniel whispered only one sentence: “Don't open Room 17.” The call ended. Ethan stopped with his hand inches from the door handle. From inside, Olivia screamed: “Ethan, please! Open the door!” He looked at the countdown. 00:34:11 Then he heard another voice from inside the room. A man's voice. Calm. Familiar. And terrifyingly close. “Ethan…” The voice whispered: “Do you remember killing me?” The door slowly began opening from the inside.Latest Chapter
The Last Memory
The Last MemoryThe hospital speakers went silent. For several seconds, nobody moved. The last words Amelia had spoken remained suspended in the air like a threat that had not yet decided whether it wanted to become a promise.“The third world has begun.”Lily stared at the photograph on the wall.It had already burned away, leaving only a dark rectangular stain. But she could still see the woman's face in her mind.Amelia.Her mother.A woman Lily had mourned for most of her life.A woman who had supposedly died before Lily was old enough to understand what death meant.Yet Amelia had spoken to them. She was alive. And she had known they would come.Rachel slowly lowered her weapon.“Everyone stay calm.”Daniel looked at the tablet in his hands.“Calm isn't really an option anymore.”“What are you seeing?” Rachel asked.Daniel's fingers moved rapidly across the screen.“The network is still active.”“What network?”“The Mirror.”Lily turned toward him.“I thought it was destroyed.”“
The Man Behind the Memory
The Man Behind the MemoryThe hospital went dark. For several seconds, Lily could hear nothing except her own heartbeat. Then Ethan's voice came through the darkness.“Lily…”She turned toward him.“Dad?”No answer.A red emergency light flickered on.Ethan stood in the center of the corridor. His eyes were black. The Mirror symbol covered his hands, spreading slowly up his arms like dark veins.Around him, hundreds of patients stood motionless.Every face was turned toward Lily.Rachel raised her weapon.“Lily, get behind me.”Lily didn't move.“That isn't my father.”Ethan smiled. The smile wasn't his.“No,” he said.“I am what he tried to forget.”Helen Carter stood at the end of the corridor. Her expression was strangely calm.“Welcome to St. Mary's.”Lily stared at her.“You knew this would happen.”Helen nodded.“I've been waiting for this moment for twenty-nine years.”Rachel aimed her weapon at her.“What are you?”Helen looked at Ethan.“A mother.”Then she looked at Lily.“A

St. Mary'sThe message remained on the screen.ETHAN CARTER IS WAITING.Lily stared at it without blinking. For several seconds, nobody moved. Then Sarah whispered, “That isn't possible.”Daniel turned toward her.“Why?”Sarah looked at the coordinates.“Because St. Mary's wasn't just destroyed.”She swallowed.“It was erased.”Rachel frowned.“Buildings don't get erased.”“This one did.”Sarah pointed at the screen.“After the first Mirror event, every record connected to St. Mary's disappeared. Patient files. Staff records. Photographs. Government documents.”Daniel stared at the database.“That explains why I couldn't find a complete record.”Lily stepped closer.“But I was born there.”“Yes.”“And my father disappeared there.”Sarah nodded.“That's what everyone was told.”Lily looked at her.“What really happened?”Sarah didn't answer.Lily's voice hardened.“Mom.”Sarah closed her eyes.“Your father didn't disappear from St. Mary's.”“He was taken.”“By whom?”“By us.”The room

The Forgotten SonThe lake exploded.A wall of water crashed toward the laboratory.Ethan grabbed Lily and pulled her backward.Rachel shouted:“MOVE!”Everyone ran toward the tunnel.Behind them, the enormous structure rose from the lake.It was neither machine nor living creature. It was something in between.Metal plates covered a body made of translucent tissue. Hundreds of cables extended from its back and disappeared beneath the water. At the center was a face.Ethan's face. But impossibly old.The eyes opened. And every screen in the laboratory displayed the same message:MEMORY ENTITY: ACTIVEDaniel stared at the readings.“What is that?”Ethan shook his head.“I don't know.”The entity spoke again.“You know me.”Ethan stopped.“No.”“You have forgotten me.”“Who are you?”The entity's face changed. For a moment, Ethan saw his own mother. Then his brother. Then Lily. Then himself. Finally, it became the face of a young boy.Ethan froze. His brother. As a child. The entity spo
The First World
The First WorldDarkness swallowed the laboratory. For several seconds, there was nothing. No voices. No machines. No footsteps.Only the sound of Ethan Carter breathing. Then a light appeared.A single white point in the darkness. It expanded slowly until Ethan found himself standing beside a lake. The same lake. But not the same world. The water was clear. The sky was blue. The old Carter house stood untouched among green trees. There was no Meridian tower. No Mirror Network. No resistance. No war.No ruins.Ethan turned around.Rachel was gone. His brother was gone.Richard was gone.Lily was gone.He was alone.Or so he thought.A child was standing near the water.Ethan recognized him immediately.Himself.Eight years old.Young Ethan was throwing stones into the lake.Another boy sat nearby. His brother. They were laughing.Ethan watched them silently. Then a woman's voice came from behind him.“You wanted to know who destroyed the first world.”Ethan turned.Eleanor Carter stoo
The Memory Beneath the Lake
The Memory Beneath the LakeThe lake moved. Not with the wind. Not with the current.Something beneath its black surface was breathing.Ethan Carter stood at the edge of the water, staring at the glowing symbol on his palm. The Mirror. It pulsed like a second heartbeat.Lily stood beside him.“What did Eleanor do to you?”Ethan looked at his hand.“I don't know.”Rachel approached cautiously.“Then we need to find out before she takes control.”Ethan looked toward the lake.“She already has.”A deep vibration passed through the ground.Daniel checked his equipment.“That's not possible.”“What?”“The lake has no underground machinery.”Another vibration.Stronger this time. The old house trembled.Ethan closed his eyes. And suddenly he saw it.A corridor beneath the water.A metal door.A child standing behind glass.A woman holding a newborn. Then a voice:Remember.Ethan opened his eyes.“There is a facility beneath the lake.”Daniel stared at him.“How do you know?”“I saw it.”Rac
