Beautiful artifact

Caesar couldn't bear to see the crack on the wooden wall that she had selected for him specially.

He thus looked at Hearthe and asked her softly, "Hearthe, do you have any idea how to make this one better?"

Once he asked he somehow felt stupid. How could Hearthe do anything about it?

If it was a plant or a tree, she may help. But this was just a wooden plank that was already cut off a tree so many years ago. How could any of Hearthe's powers be helpful with this?

He shook his head and softly said, "It's okay. Don't mind me. I just asked a stupid question."

Hearthe had already crawled up the wall and started circling around the crack when he looked at her after speaking.

As he was looking at what she was doing, he saw a few small pieces of branches- or rather vines, considering the thinness of them- sprouting out of the wood on the wall.

All the vines started moving and combined themselves. It looked like they were gracefully dancing to a melodic music as they entangled amongst themselves.

Once they stopped moving, Caesar was surprised at the sight in front of him.

It was not clean and neat like before. It was not like nothing happened at that specific position.

Instead it was very different.

The vines combined themselves until a design was created out of them. It looked like a talented designer had crafted the wood to make an artifact at that position as a piece of decoration.

It looked delicate and exquisite. If it was really made by someone, it would have cost one a whole lot of money to purchase such a quality item.

Yet, here Caesar was, getting such a beautiful and exquisite piece of decorative piece for free.

All thanks to his daughter!

All he asked from her was to do something about the crack. He did not even expect her to do anything about it.

Yet, not only did she cover up the crack completely like nothing of that sort had ever happened to the wall, but she also made it into such a beautiful art that it would attract anyone's eyes as long as one would enter his house as a guest.

He wanted to thank Hearthe for her beautiful gift but his eyes couldn't leave the piece of art no matter how hard he tried. It is like his eyes were glued to them and he couldn't part them no matter what he did.

He took a deep breath before he uttered under his breath, "Hearthe, it is very beautiful. Thank you so much baby."

Receiving another round of words of praise from her father, Hearthe circled around the ground with her snake-like body as if she was dancing happily.

Caesar couldn't help but laugh at her antics.

While they were immersed in the joy in their little world, they suddenly heard the door getting knocked hard.

If he didn't know any better, Caesar would have thought that his debt collectors were at his door afraid that he had run away from home leaving all their debts.

But he knew that he had never once taken any debts from anyone, let alone from someone that would knock on his door like a bunch of hooligans.

But he was still confused about the identity of the people who were banging his door like they were about to be burnt to death if he did not open it immediately.

He really wanted to go and burn them to death if they broke his door by continuing with what they were doing.

Full of anger, Caesar walked towards the door and opened it to see the intruder.

It was his neighbor.

Caesar frowned looking at him. Being neighbors from the time of his birth, they had known each other from childhood.

But for the past few years, despite being neighbors, they had never cared to interact with each other, just like any other villager had kept their distance from him.

Hence it has been years since anyone knocked on his door. But today, this neighbor, who had always turned his head away from him, had knocked on his door?

"What do you want?" Caesar asked him seriously with apparent coldness from his eyes.

All the gentleness and warmth during the time he spent with Hearthe had long vanished.

The neighbor on the other hand looked like he did not care about Caesar's attitude towards him. Instead he sneered, "Do you think I want to come to see you?"

"Then why are you here? If you have nothing serious to talk about, just get out of my sight," Caesar warned.

It is not like he cares to have a good impression on the other person's mind.

His nonchalant behavior made the neighbor furious as he had already been angry when he came to his door.
