The cold-faced boy stared at Kent before shifting his gaze to what had fallen from his hand onto the ground. His eyes widened in shock.

"What? How did you get that?!"

Kent smiled faintly for a moment before his expression darkened.

"You're not the only one cursed with knowledge here. Why else would you defend those poor-ass rich brats while surrounded by poor people like us? I knew something was definitely off about you, and there you are, proving my suspicions right."

The cold-faced boy stared at Kent before shifting his gaze to what had fallen from his hand onto the ground. His eyes widened in shock."What? Why else would you defend those poor-ass rich brats while surrounded by poor people like us? I knew something was definitely off about you, and there you are, proving my suspicions right."Kent paused before adding, "You may be wondering how I got my hands on that same syringe. Well, after we encountered those dead group shortly after entering this valley, everyone moved ahead, but I happened to spot it lying on the ground. I had no idea what it was used for, but who would've thought it would end up saving my life from a hypocrite like you?"The cold-faced boy's eyes flickered uncontrollably."Does that mean the owner might be dead or seriously injured? This is bad. How are we going to get enough Dreadcor

"I hope this isn't a joke," the stern-faced boy said, glaring nervously at the cold-faced boy.A wicked smirk crept across the cold-faced boy's face, a malicious glint shining in his eyes."There are many things happening within this Rift that you don't actually know about, aren't there? But don't worry. I'll try to make everything clear to you so you won't remain confused even after your death."[Warning: Time left to obtain Dreadcores: 1 minute]The moment the Marked Runes displayed the warning, the three boys grew restless and tense. The sharp-faced boy's expression darkened."It's four against one. Do you really think you'll survive if all four of us come at you at once? We'll overlook this little incident and forgive you, but for now, share the Dreadcores. We're running out of time."As soon as the sharp-faced boy finished speaking, the stern-faced boy chimed in, his voice trembling."You're doing yourself no favors. If we turn into monsters because of the penalty from the Marked

  • Turn of event

At that moment, hovering in the middle of the open space, everyone realized they were about to die. There was no way they could survive an attack from such a large number of Ravagers. In the next moment, the Ravagers charged toward them at a vicious speed, closing the distance with every passing second. Their jagged, sharp teeth were exposed, and viscous saliva flowed from their mouths in torrents of transparent mucus. Just as Kent and the others began to lose hope of surviving the disaster about to befall them, something unexpected happened. A blinding light flashed across the crimson sky of the Rift. Its intensity was so overwhelming that Kent and the others had to press their faces against the ground. But the blinding light wasn't the only problem. A strange frequency with a piercing resonance swept across the Rift, forcing them to cover their ears while keeping their faces pressed to the ground. The stern-faced boy cried out. "When is this going to end? Or will it be like thi

"But... this is supposed to be a controlled rift. Wh-why is this happening to us?" Kent rushed over to see what had caused the dimple-faced boy to utter such alarming words. When he arrived, Kent couldn't believe his eyes. Before him lay the motionless bodies of red-uniformed marked individuals. From a quick count, there appeared to be around nine of them. "What the hell happened here?" The other three boys also approached to see what was happening, and their eyes widened in terror. The only exception was the cold-faced boy, whose expression remained unchanged despite the horrifying sight that had left the others shaken. Perhaps that was simply how he was, or maybe he just didn't care about people dying. Who knows? "Poor souls. They met their end while trying to survive in here," the cold-faced boy remarked as he began walking away. After taking a few steps, he paused and glanced sideways at the others. "Are you going to stand there staring? The Dreadborn that killed th

[Warning: Time left to obtain Dreadcore: 5 hours] Kent looked at the rest of the group, and their expressions were far from relieved. If he had to guess what had caused their sudden tension, it was probably the warning displayed by their Marked Runes. After all, they were also marked, just like him. "Why are we still lying here? Didn't any of you see the warning we just received? Let's get the fuck up and share those Dreadcores among ourselves. I don't want to turn into a monster!" the stern face boy roar Kent turned his attention to his injured arm and tore off a piece of his uniform. Clenching his teeth, he tied the makeshift bandage around the wound, knowing he would need to use the arm again and couldn't afford to lose any more blood. After a minute or so, he pulled himself up and walked toward the Ravager's corpse. He stared down at it with a blank expression before turning toward the group. "I can't see the Dreadcore. Isn't it supposed to come out after the monster dies?"

As he darted forward, Kent slid beneath the monster and ran a few meters away to give himself a head start. However, the monster hesitated to chase after him. From the looks of it, the creature was intelligent enough to realize that Kent and his group were trying to come up with a devious plan to eliminate it. Kent's expression darkened as he shouted, "You damn creature, come after me!" However, the monster seemed uninterested in chasing him. Kent looked down, picked up a stone, and threw it straight at its turquoise eye. "I said come after me, you damn vile abomination!" The moment the stone struck its turquoise eye, all hell broke loose. With an enraged growl, the monster charged toward Kent, who immediately began running with all his might, as though his life depended on it—because it actually did. If he slowed down before the cold-faced boy managed to restrain the creature, he was as good as dead. The chase was far more difficult than Kent could have imagined. Even though
