The Martins Family Mansion was one of the finest houses in Caldor. The Martins were a middle-class family who enjoyed the wealth passed down to them.

The family head, Kelvin Martins, was trying to ensure that nothing would ruin his family image, and his daughter Rachel fit that category, with the grandfather’s help he wanted to make sure that Rachel would

“I don't know how on earth she is part of this family. She shouldn't be allowed to be anywhere close to this house after we find a horrible loser to take her from our hands.”

Elizabeth Martins scoffed. She was in the living room waiting for someone to walk in and tell them that they would want to marry Rachel. They were waiting for the results from the test they were holding.

“Mother, I think that she should be thrown out, or maybe we can make her one of the maids if we are not able to find someone to take her deformed self out of this house,” Aria said in a mocking voice. She was the pampered princess of the Martins household.

All the Family members in the Martins household were in attendance that day. They were waiting to hear the Grandfather’s decision, he was going to select a groom for his granddaughter from the fifteen men who stood in front of them.

Standing there on the huge balcony of the Martins Family stood the fifteen men who had reached the family’s evaluation. They were men of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

None of them there had any impressive background, well all except Nathan.

He had come in unnoticed because he made sure that no one in Caldor would know who he was.

But he was there to make sure that Rachel didn't fall into the wrong hands, he waited for their decision.

He knew that without Rachel, he would have died and he would never have become the Masked General.

He owed her a lot.

An old man walked out beside him was a man who looked like he was in his early forties, they were Rachel’s grandfather and Father.

They stopped in front of the fifteen men, they were going to do something to see if any of them would pass the last test and make sure that they were going to be the one for Rachel.

"Now all of you are here for the inheritance following this woman, I will her to the person who would be able to stand and look at her face." The man said as he turned to look in the opposite direction.

He stretched his hand, signaling for someone to come. The men looked up to see a woman dressed in a white veil coming out of the other side. She walked to the old man and stood by his side.

Ben turned to her, walked over, and opened her veil revealing her disfigured face. Immediately fourteen of the men showed disgust all except Nathan who couldn't help but notice Rachel’s red eyes.

‘Is that what she looks like?”

“I thought they said it was a minor injury?”

“She looks like an ogre,”

“If you know you can't bear looking at her face, please kindly leave,” Ben said, immediately they heard the words the men turned back and left. All of them left except Nathan who stood in his place.

The Martins were shocked to see there was someone who stood there not moving an inch.

“You, what is your name?” Ben asked when he was looking at the man in front of him.

“My name is Nathan Specter,” Nathan gave him a straight answer not trying to hide anything from him.

“Well Nathan you have seen her face, are you sure you would want to be with her?” Ben asked, looking at Nathan to get his reply.

“Yes,” Nathan said without even hesitating, he was not going to give them the chance to ask him another question.

Ben looked at the young man in front of him and shook his head. “She is yours then, I don't know why you would want to marry such a hideous person but that would be your concern and not mine.”

Ben turned and left Rachel standing there, his face showed that he was disappointed.

“This has to be an embarrassment, all the other families have their firstborn daughter married off to a prestigious family. Ours has to be the only family marrying off their daughter to a common man from the streets!” Elizabeth sounded more disappointed.

“Father, I have to go handle things at the company, I can't stand to watch this eyesore,” Marcus was looking at Rachel and he couldn't even look at his daughter properly.

None of the family members were going to look at Rachel like she was worth anything to them.

Rachel couldn't do anything but stand there in shame, her own family had sold her to a man so they would be able to take her hideous face out of the family.

‘So that does it? I have been sold out of this place,’ Rachel thought to herself when she saw a hand stretched out in front of her. Rachel looked up to see Nathan looking at her with a smile on his face.

“Give me your hand, I make sure that there is no way anyone would hurt you ever again,” Nathan said looking at Rachel.

She was a bit confused as to why the man in front of her was trying to put up an act, it was a bit confusing to her and she was trying to understand what he was trying to do.

She could only look at him at him and wonder what was going on in his mind. She took the hands of the man in front of her and immediately she felt his warm welcoming touch.

Rachel looked at Nathan, all she could see was a smile on his face.

“Come on, I will not let anyone harm you again.”

Liu hadn't gotten any information on Cruz for a long time; he was not going to let anything make him think otherwise. He was trying to make sure that nothing would come in the way again and make Nathan feel like there was no way for him to get anything done. He was not sure what would come out of all his endeavors. But if one thing was certain, he would be able to get something done. “It seems that you don't understand what you are trying to get done here, do you?” A voice came from the door of his office; Liu smiled but didn't even bother to look back. “Elena, when would you learn that it is not formal for someone to come to the office like that…?” Elena giggled as she waltzed into the office; she was still not completely healed from what the men Cruz sent for her had done. “You're still trying to get the plans out?” She was looking at the papers on the table, confused; she didn't know what was going on in his head at the moment, and it wasn't even clear if there was a way for

“Obi-Nge, he is with the Masked General. Are you sure that you want to risk it in a fight?!” One of the Thorns was talking to Obi-Nge, a man with a shabby way of doing things. He wasn't trying to get in the middle of anything that would look like hard work for him, but if one of his prey had gotten away and was causing trouble. “Which is better, dealing with prey that you know you can kill and be through with, or being scared of a general that has nothing to do with your life?” Obi–Nge was looking at his partner, and nothing was going to prepare her for a question like that. He was looking at his partner and was not sure if there was going to be an answer from him. “I know you are trying to look out for me, but then there are better ways to do that, and I would love it if you understood that nothing is going to be holding us down like that, and I am not going to stand there to watch them take us down like we are some kind of lowlifes.” Obi-Nge sounded confident; he was known for

Nathan was looking at Loid; he had no idea what was going on. “I don't know what I am going to be hearing, but if you say that this is connected to all I want to know, then I am all ears.” He looked at Loid. There was no way he wouldn't want to know what was going on on the continent, and he was going to make sure that there was a way for him to solve the problem. “The families chosen were the Gregory family from the Eastern Valley, the Artheris from the Northern Plains, and then the Specters from Caldor. These were the three families picked out by the continent heads; they were going to make sure that nothing would come in the way of Orde and Law in Hondra.” Loid got up, moving to a part of the room where he picked up a chalk Nathan had lying around. “These families were not picked because of status or wealth; they were picked because the matriarch of each family had a strong sense of justice, and they were seen as the pinnacle of power and strength.” Loid sounded like there was

Nathan looked at the crest; he was not sure if it was the same as the one his family had. There was no clear difference, but then he was not sure if Loid might have had the same Crest. He didn't know if it was even possible for someone other than his family to carry the Crest like that. He did not want to interrupt the process; he had found a way to make sure that the poison would leave his body, and he was not going to let it go to waste. He would use it and make sure that nothing would take the man’s body.He waited for some time before he did something else to his body, but nothing showed that he was getting a response from the man and the treatment was going well. He stood there looking at him; the crest was still on his mind, not knowing what the exact reason was why he felt that there was something connecting it to his family, and all he needed was to make sure that there was nothing going to keep him on edge the whole time. Loid lay silent for a couple of minutes, and his bo

Zauf…. A country in Hondra is one of the deadliest places to even think of getting yourself a place. It wasn't even that much trouble getting lost there for a place called the Crime Land of Hondra—it was at its peak! In what seemed to be a five-star hotel, outside it wasn't always the worst place to be seen. Inside, there was a meeting and in that meeting sat five of the toughest and strongest men in Zauf. They were all seated for a meeting, there wasn't any sign of a weak being in the room. “I heard that those idiots failed to get Loid back here, oh the Supreme Syndicate ain't going to be happy about that.” One of the men spoke, looking around the room he could see that none of them would even have the mind to voice out what they were seeing and it was even sad for them in many ways. “How on earth did you think they would be able to do anything when they ran into the Masked General?” Another man spoke up, looking at the men there he was one of the few that looked odd and

“I don't know who told you that coming to my mansion was a good idea.” Nathan was looking at the last man standing, he had taken down the other two, and it wasn't even up to three minutes when they attacked. Nathan was moving like a hollow ghost taking them out one by one, and it was the last man he was looking at. His eyes were fixed on him like a hawk, and he wasnt going to be letting him go that easily. “You don't know what you are getting yourself into, if you touch me then that means you are making yourself an enemy and this isn't something you want to see yourself doing. There is no need to make yourself the enemy here.” The last man tried to talk to Nathan, but it would not work. He was looking at someone who had made up his mind to kill them and it was like pouring water on a rock. “You think I would give a damn to whatever it is you are trying to tell me. But I couldn't even care less.” Nathan was looking at the man, standing over him like a wall. “You think that I woul
