The Messiah in Black

Chapter Two

William’s POV:

     The bloody portal opened up in some kind of pocket dimension, the entire place was filled with debris floating around, it was as if we were in space, the ground was metallic but it was as if it was mixed with rocky materials.

     When we got there I couldn’t hold it in, I had to ask questions because I don’t really understand what was going on so I asked her,

“Hey Ada, what the bloody hell is going on? Why am I here? Who or what were those guards? What was that thing that attacked me?”

She just gave me a long look before answering,

“What’s going on is that I saved your bloody ass from those guards because they were going to kill you, they’re angels, well they’re possessed by angels and that thing that attacked you was a zombie, it seemed another witch was there”

“Okay am confused why will angels try to kill me, I’m the fucking Messiah”

Ada Scoffs as I said that and then I asked her

“What?! Why did you do that?”

“You think you’re the Messiah?”

“Yes I am, what? You don’t think so?”

I asked her as there was an earthquake for a moment then after a while it stopped

“What was that?”

“It was an earthquake, the pocket dimension isn’t stable yet”

“What?! Wait you brought me to a pocket dimension that is unstable?! Are you outta your bloody mind?!”

I asked her as she looked at me, it seemed like I just pissed her off

“I brought your stupid ass here because this is the only place those angels ain’t gonna find us, you think you’re the bloody Messiah, how pathetic, you use your powers for money all in the name of serving the church while all you do is serve your godforsaken self!”

She said this in anger, I could feel it in her voice, I had to choose my next words carefully because if I pissed her off again, only God knows what she might do next.

“Okay okay, thanks for saving my ass back there, but I don’t get it though, why would angels try to kill me, those guards have been with me for a year now, why haven’t they killed me since?”

“Because they were watching you, dumbass they were studying you all this while and waiting for the perfect moment to strike after they’ve gotten what they need”

“I see, it seems like the forces of heaven is working against me all for what, because I chose a life of fame over righteousness, it doesn’t make sense though”

“Well I think it’s more than that”

“Yeah and I’ve gonna find out what, but anyway why are you helping me though? And also when you said you want to help me fulfill my destiny what did you mean by that?”

Ada seemed kinda surprised with that question and then she asked

“You don’t know?”

“Know what?”

Ada gave me a long look as she was surprised and it was as if she realized something and then immediately casted a spell and blasted my head with darkness,

I felt pain as I knelt down and I started seeing somethings, it was like memories but none of which were clear, they were all blurred I couldn’t see anything clearly, when the spell wore off I raised my head towards her and said

“What the bloody hell did you do to me?!”

“Wait you don’t remember anything?”

“Remember what? All I see is some blurred images”

“Oh okay I guess I’ll have to let you figure it out on your own then”

She said as she turned and was walking away I stopped her and said

“Wait you gotta tell me something, what am I supposed to remember?”

She turned and said

“Well I could tell you but I think you should remember it yourself, I could help you recover your memory but it’s gonna take time”

“I see”

I said but I didn’t want to push the matter any further but I knew she clearly knows something I just have to figure out what, I walked closer to her and said

“Well we gotta get back to the world, I can’t stay in this bloody place”

“The angels are still out there”

“I know and when we meet them we’ll take care of them”

I said urging her to open up a portal so we could leave, she just haved a sigh and opened up a portal and we both walked into it.

It was daytime when we arrived in the streets, I took Ada to one of my fashion stores and told her to change outta her witch robes, if she was gonna be with me she’s gotta look stylish, she refused at first but after much persuasion she agreed.

She tried out some modern day clothes it was all good but she didn’t like any one of them until she tried out a black tight jeans with chains at the left side, a sleeveless top and a black jacket over it with some black boots, she really looked good in those.

She wanted to change outta those but I stopped her because I was tired we’ve been at the store for hours and she has been changing clothes for hours, I’m sick of it, we left the store into the street and then I decided we go to a restaurant to get something to eat

“I’m not hungry”

She said and then I said

“Well if you’re not hungry I am”

We went to a restaurant nearby I ordered some chicken wings and fries, I was surprised she ordered some chicken wings as well, she even asked the waiter what dishes they have, in my presence she ordered fries, burger, noodles and pie.

I watched as she consumed all this as someone who haven’t fed for years, I decided to start a conversation while we were both eating so I said

“So aren’t you gonna tell me what year you’re from, it’s obvious your robes aren’t from this century”

She looked at me and said

“I learned witchcraft three hundred years ago, I was able to cast a spell on myself to completely stop my aging, I was twenty-seven years of age then”

“Oh a three hundred and twenty-seven year old witch, wow, imma say I’m not really into older women but you’re a hottie, you just might do”

“And you call yourself a Messiah”

“Okay look, I’ve taken off the glow so right now I’m William Scott, Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist, with the glow on I’m the Messiah”

“Huh I see”

She said as she continued eating her food, I just stared at her and said nothing, when we were done she ordered a plastic bottle of soda, I just took a bottle of water as I paid the bills and we left.

I had her open up a portal to one of my penthouse in Miami, it was night time when we got there, so as we got there I saw a car packed outside and it was Tracy, my old friend

“Tracy?”

I said as I saw her, I wasn’t expecting her, She saw me and said

“William?! Oh my gosh”

She ran towards me and hugged me, it was a long tight hug I had to create separation

“Tracy, it’s been awhile what are you doing here?”

“Well am here to see an old friend”

She replied and then she saw Ada and asked

“Who’s she?”

“I’m…”

“She’s unimportant, You looking good Tracy”

Ada gave me a long shocked look as I interrupted her before she could answer Tracy’s question, Tracy just continued as she said to Ada

“Well am Tracy and it’s nice to meet you”

Ada just nodded

“I’ve been trying to reach you for days now but your line is not reachable”

Tracy said as she sound worried I just looked at her and held her shoulders, then I asked her

“Tracy, what problem have you gotten yourself into now?”

“Well I was supposed to deliver 1.8million dollars to a street drug lord but I was robbed by his rivals and now he thinks I stole his money”

I just smiled and said

“It’s alright I’ll help you out but you gotta get out of the drug business, I’ve told you serval times”

“Not all of us have powers, some of us have to do it the hard way just to survive”

“As if having powers is easy”

I said as I looked at Ada and then I said

“Come on let’s get inside”

We all went inside my penthouse as Ada and Tracy sat in the sitting room, I went to get drinks as Tracy said to Ada

“Hey look, I know he’s a douchbag but he’s a hugh softy as well, you’ll like him once you get to know him”

“Oh don’t worry this is only temporary”

“Well, we’ll see”

I came back with the drinks as we started a conversation, Tracy said

“Remember the first time we made out, gosh it was your first time I had to do most of the work”

“Hey! I did most of the heavy lifting too okay”

I said in my defense Ada just laughed softly and then she asked

“How long have you two known each other?”

“Oh we met in the streets of London, back then he wasn’t rich but he was using his powers to earn some money, I on the other hand was in London selling drugs, when I was on the run from the cops he helped me out and hid me”

Tracy answered and then I said

“Remember when you got shot, I healed you and we started meeting up every now and then”

“We became good friends since then, we helped each other in the streets”

“Yeah and then she moved back to Miami to continue the hustle, I wanted her to be part of my empire but she refused saying she’s got her own thing and I’ve got mine”

“Yeah but still we do make time and help each other out for old time’s sake”

“Yeah but she seems obsessed with death, putting her life on the line and she made me promise not to resurrect her if she died”

I said as Ada looked at her and asked

“Why?”

“Because death comes for us all, it depends on time and how but it does no matter what we do so why not live life to the fullest, I don’t worry about death, if it comes, then it’s my fate, we all die in the end anyways but one thing I know is that death isn’t the end”

Tracy said as she sips from her cup, Ada just looked downwards as Tracy’s words touched her, it was like she was reflecting on her past, I noticed it and then Tracy’s words also got me thinking

“Was I doing the right thing by resurrecting people and interfering with the natural cycle of life and death, what if am doing the wrong thing and the heavens are after me because of it”

I was thinking about this when suddenly Tracy’s phone rang, she picked it up from the table and her facial expression changed, she was uneasy and she said

“It’s Carlos Méndez calling, the guy I was supposed to deliver the money to”

“Tell him you have he’s money and you’ll meet him at the beach”

I said as she picked up the call and told him what I said and he hung up, she put the phone down and said

“He’s giving me one hour to deliver”

“Well let’s get a move on then”

I said and then I went to my secret vault in my penthouse and opened it, I took out 1.8million dollars and put it inside a bag and took it with me to the sitting room where the ladies were waiting for me, I gave Tracy the bag and said

“I’m coming with you”

“No this is something I gotta do on my own, I promise to pay you back once all this is resolved”

She said as she gave me a hug and left, Ada asked

“We’re following her right?”

“Yes we are, portal us to the beach”

I said and Ada opened up a portal and we both got into it.

The Portal opened at the beach as we both came out of it, It turns out we were there ahead of time so we had to wait for Tracy to arrive, Ada loved the sight of the beach as it was night time and nobody was around, it was just the both of us.

Ada loved as the cold breeze blew softly against her skin as she closed her eyes and walked towards the ocean, she said

“This makes me feel closer to nature”

“I see”

I said as I sat down close to her as she was standing, we were both looking at the ocean as she later sat beside me.

After a while we heard a gunshot and we both ran towards the direction of the sound only to find Tracy laying down on the floor bleeding from the bullet wound,

I quickly ran close to her and held her hand and said

“It’s gonna be okay, just stay with me”

I wanted to heal her but she stopped me and said

“Not this time William, remember your promise, the moment of death is upon me”

She smiled and continued

“It’s time now, I can feel it, oh I wish I had more time to make things right but this is as much time as I can get”

Then I said with tears dropping down my eyes

“Well I can give you more time just let me heal you, you’re not dead yet”

I could feel the life slipping away from her but she seems to come to terms with it

“I’m not dead but am dying, I know how much you want to help that’s why I made you promise that you won’t when the time comes, I do know this though, death isn’t the end”

I felt very emotional as I knew I could help her but couldn’t bear the fact that if I did I’ll be breaking my promise, she would hate the life I’ve given her and would seek death even more, I couldn’t live with that but this hurts so much,

She looked at Ada and said

“Take care of him okay”

Ada nodded and then Tracy looked at me and said

“See you on the flip side, it’s bye for now”

She smiled and took her final breath and died, I felt the life slip away from her completely as I held her cold hands, she was gone now, I could do something but that would be breaking a life long promise, I cried silently as tears rolled down my checks,

Ada noticed how emotional I was and then she held me by the shoulder and said

“We’ve gotta go”

I heard police sirens as I looked at Tracy’s dead corpse and I let go of her hand and got up as Ada opened up a portal and we both went into it.
