Chapter Three

William’s POV:

     I just can’t believe it, I just couldn’t bloody believe it, Tracy just died at my arms and I did nothing, me and Ada have been in the pocket dimension for quite sometime now, I had her go to my bar and to get me three bottles of whiskey, I needed to drown my sorrows as if that was gonna help.

     Ada just watched as I drank two bottles, as I wanted to open up the last one she stopped me and said

“That’s enough, you look pathetic, you should be doing something rather than staying here drowning in your sorrows”

“Well I couldn’t save the one person I loved so that’s that, bloody hypocrite I am, I say am the messiah but yet I couldn’t save her”

“Well you could have saved her but you decided to honor her last wishes and keep your promise to her, that takes guts and I respect you for that”

“What’s the use, she’s dead anyways”

“Yeah she’s dead but you know what will honor her memory?, Justice, we get justice for her”

“That’s pointless, the bloody cops and twats are all corrupt, no one bloody cares about a lower class drug dealer who was mysteriously shot dead but I do know what we could do”

Ada looked at me as if she knew what I was about to say and then she said

“Going that part ain’t gonna end well and you know it, I’ve lived long enough to know how it ends and it always ends the same, not good”

“Well I’m gonna do it anyways, with or without your help”

I said as I stood up while holding the bottle of whiskey

“William, don’t do this”

“Open up a bloody portal”

Ada hesitated for a while and then she haved a sigh and said

“If I let you do this alone, it’s not gonna end well so am gonna help you to make sure things doesn’t go sideways”

She opened up a portal and we both went through it and appeared right in the beach, it was day time now and the police had taken away the body of Tracy but they were still clearing up the crime scene.

Ada turned to me and asked

“Well what’s your plan?”

“We find Carlos Mendez”

“Any idea where to start?”

Ada asked as I smiled and said

“Yeah I just might know the bloody place”

I told Ada the place as she opened up a portal and we went there, it was a warehouse used for storing wine bottles but I knew it was one of Carlos secret stash,

We walked into the warehouse and I saw one of Carlos men and I got hold of him, asking where his boss is but he won’t cooperate so I asked Ada to search his bloody memories and she did, she found out where Carlos Mendez might be and we went there immediately.

As for the poor bloke he was petrified, it turns out whenever Ada uses her mind powers on anyone they either don’t survive it or are mentally unstable and barely alive, guess it’s a side effect of her dark magic, I survived the effects because I’m not like normal humans, I wanted to go easy on him but he chose the hard way instead.

When we arrived at Carlos estate, we immediately located his house, Ada took down most of his men leaving him vulnerable, we got inside and he tried to shoot me but Ada used her telekinesis to push his gun out of his hand and then I kicked him as he fell to the floor,

“You bastard, you killed her, all for what, huh?”

I said as he looked surprised and then he asked

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“Tracy Mecall, she was supposed to deliver 1.8 million dollars to the beach to you last night, you gave her an hour to deliver, but when she got there you killed her, why?!”

I asked as I grabbed him by the neck, my eyes glowed white for a brief second and in that moment he was terrified

“What? No I didn’t kill her, when my men got to the beach it was swarming with gringos, she was dead and the money was gone”

He said as Ada looked at him and said

“He’s telling the truth”

I looked at her as she said

“I’ve lived for a long time I know when someone’s lying and he’s not”

I sighed and let him go, he was still shaken up as I looked at him and shooked my head in disappointment, he was supposed to be a drug lord, the top dog but here he is acting like a kid, how disappointing I was expecting more from him, but Tracy did say he was a street drug lord so there wasn’t much to expect.

Ada opened up a portal as I walked towards it, before I could get in she asked

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah never better”

I said as I walked into it, Ada not far behind as we both appeared at the beach

“Why are we here?”

I asked as Ada just looked around and said

“Well in order to crack a case sometimes we need to come back to the scene of the crime”

“Right”

I said as Ada casted a spell, suddenly the entire place went dark as it blended with the sun light, Ada said some strange words as the darkness started revealing the events that happened on the beach.

It was like moving shadow constructs or will I say illusions, showing everyone that has been on the beach for the past twenty four hours and what they did, it wasn’t long until she came to Tracy’s part, I saw Tracy as she was with the bag of money meeting up with a man, it wasn’t really clear but I could hear what they were saying, the man said

“Job’s over, we’ve gotten what we needed”

“No it’s not over yet, I could get more outta Carlos Mendez before he finds out I snitched on him”

“It’s too big of a risk, Steven already knows you betrayed him, he’ll be coming for you anytime now”

“And I’ll be long gone by then, I just need to find out who Carlos supplier is then we can put an end to all this”

“Oh Tracy, always so persistent”

Tracy smiled as there was a gunshot, Tracy was down, the man she was with had to take the money and run, I looked and saw where the shooter was but I couldn’t clearly see his face,

Ada casted a spell as the whole thing vanished and everything was back to normal, thankfully no one was on the beach, I looked at Ada as she said

“I was able to identify the man she was with, he’s a cop”

“Oh bloody hell”

I said as Ada opened up a portal, we both went in and then we appeared at my penthouse, Ada quickly drew a sketch of him and showed it to me

“He doesn’t look that bad”

I said and Ada just placed the sketch on the table and casted a location spell, she was able to pinpoint his exact location and she opened up a portal, we both got in and appeared downtown, we broke into his house but he was armed and ready as he pointed his gun at me.

“Whoever you are, you’ve come to the wrong house”

He said as I just smiled at him, Ada tried to sneak up on him but he said

“Don’t even think about it”

Ada just stood behind him as he asked

“Who are you people? State your business”

“Oh we just friends of Tracy, we heard she was murdered last night and you mate, were the last one to see her, we just have some questions”

“I never knew Tracy had friends”

“Well bloke, there’s a lot you don’t know, Ada please show the man we mean business”

Ada brought out some fake FBI badges and showed it to him

“Tracy came to us when she knew something was off, she didn’t tell us much but when she died we did a little digging and we found out she was working with you on something, what was it?”

I asked as he stopped pointing his gun at me and we all sat down

“Why does the FBI have interest in this?”

He asked, I just looked at him and said

“Because Tracy was about to discover something big but she was killed, we need to know what”

He just looked at us and sighed then he said

“Three years ago we caught Tracy selling thirty-three kilos of coke, she would have been sent to prison but I offered her a deal, to infiltrate both of the top cartels in exchange for her freedom, I guess I saw potential in her”

“Jerry Thomson, a highly decorated detective I see”

Ada said as she threw his badge to him, he caught it and said

“Tracy was a very useful asset, she had provided us with info on both the cartels that would have taken us years to get, when things started getting hot I asked her to leave but she refused and wanted to continue as a double agent”

“Tracy was supposed to deliver 1.8 million to Carlos Mendez last night but was murdered on scene, it appears she was robbed at first but she was able to gather another 1.8 million so she could deliver but you were the last person she met before she died, money went missing, do you have any idea where the money is?”

I asked as he looked at me then hesitated before he answered

“Tracy made a deal with Big G, an international drug dealer, she made that deal on behalf of Carlos and he got 1.8 million outta it, she was supposed to deliver the money to him but was ambushed by Steven Jackson”

Ada looked at him and said

“lemme guess, the second drug lord who’s the rival of Carlos”

“Yes, he found out that Tracy snitched on him and wanted to kill her, she managed to escape but Steven took the money, I don’t know how she got another 1.8 million but she still wanted to deliver, she called me and told me she was going to the beach that night so she would deliver, I tried to talk her out of it but she refused”

“So you had to go to the beach to try and stop her”

I said and he nodded and then I whispered to myself

“Oh Tracy that bloody twat never listens”

And then he said

“It was at the beach that she was shot right in front of me but I had to take the money and run”

“Where’s the money now?”

Ada asked and he answered

“I was been followed so I hid it somewhere in the city”

“I see, well any chance you saw the shooter before you ran off like a bloody coward?”

I asked and he looked at me in annoyance and said

“No, it was dark I couldn’t see a thing”

I looked at Ada and she nodded and then I said

“Well mate, that’ll be all for now but we might need your cooperation later on, have a good day lad”

And then I and Ada got up and left his house, as we were both walking down the street, I asked Ada

“What do you think?”

“He’s clearly hiding something but we’ll deal with him later for now let’s find the shooter”

“Okay let’s go”

Ada nodded and said

“I’mma say, Tracy was in a lot deeper shit than I thought”

“Yeah, never thought she would willingly work with the cops”

“Well this keeps getting interesting”

“I just hope this doesn’t cause an all out war between the Cartels, the streets will suffer for it”

I said as Ada opened up a portal and we both walked into it.
