Humiliated

The fact that she was not taking his call for the twentieth time, made his heart drum a million times that he had no choice but to board a cab to her apartment.

The same apartment he rented for her with his hard earned money. Anyway, people will surely do anything for love.

Darren dropped out of the cab after paying up the driver and as he stepped closer to the porch he began to hear the blaring of music coming out from the house.

He was about stepping on the porch but he paused and took a step back to imagine what was going on. And where the heck the music was coming from because he doesn’t want to believe it was coming from his girlfriend’s apartment.

He took a long breath because he was confused as hell as to why a party was being thrown at her house and the fact she didn’t take any of his twenty calls.

He finally pushed himself to step on the porch, didn’t bother to knock because the house belongs to his girlfriend anyway. So he twisted the knob and stepped into the living room.

What he saw seemed like a dream but it was not, it was damn reality. He blinked his eyes a second time, then his eyes widened when he saw that they were not just having an ordinary party, but a sex party and his girlfriend was on top of some other guy, riding the soul out of him!

“ What the heck Avery?!” He voiced out, but seemed his voice almost drowned down his throat that the words were too heavy to spit out.

“ Woah.. what the heck? Why is someone like this at the party?”

“ For God sake he looks so dirty.” 

Darren heard whispers coming from behind him but that was his least concern. His concern was the fact that his girlfriend was having sex with someone else with so much ease.

He was sure as hell that she had just heard him call her name but she was ignoring him and continued riding the guy hard.

Darren was so full of rage and totally embarrassed that he had to shout out her name for the second time. And this time, everyone went silent. 

“ What the fuck, Darren?” Avery lashed at him as she got down from the guy’s lap and dropped down her skirt. She doesn’t look remorseful and she seemed like she was hiding more things from Darren.

“ Avery you are cheating on me!” he gritted his teeth but barred out the words in a low tone.

“ Is that what you want to call it?” she scoffed as she walked closed to him, moving away from the couch.

“ That is not called cheating. It is called ‘having fun’ I deserve to have fun at my graduation party!” she sneered at his face and Darren’s eyes widened more. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing nor what he was hearing. She was having a graduation party without him? Without even informing him about her graduation?

Damn, Darren had worked hard for the sake of this girl. He had barely fed himself because of her, because he had to pay up her bills for college. He had to get her shelter and even some money to take care of herself so that she would feel like she belonged.

He didn’t care about himself. To him, it didn’t matter if he belonged or not as long as Avery, his girlfriend was comfortable because all they had was each other.

Avery was from an orphanage, who decided to live on her own and not rely on the orphanage home anymore after she met Darren.

Darren on the other sides has no family. His only sister died two years after his parents died in a car accident. He was broken and lonely until he met Avery.

Avery was the hope he had, to continue living. He had to start working as a delivery man just to majorly take care of her and train her in college. 

He couldn’t go to college because he had to train Avery, there was not enough money for him to train himself. God, he worked so hard for this girl. He worked hard like he has never in his life.

Now, she has graduated and she didn’t even inform him? She didn’t invite him to her graduation party instead ignored all his calls and fucked some other guy?!

“ Avery, this is not you.” He attempted to hold her arm but she slapped it off immediately.

“ Don’t you dare touch me with those fifthy hands!” she shouted with anger and her friends behind him began to laugh out.

Darren hands were shaky as he stared at the hand that she just slapped. They were the hands that fed her all through in college. How could she forget about that so soon?

“ Filthy? Avery what happened to you?” he tried to hold her more but she stepped away as he stepped closer until the guy on the couch stood up.

“ If you move a fucking inch close to her again, I will have your bones broken!” he shouted that his guards suddenly ran up to him asking if they needed his help.

“ Eric, who is this fifthy guy disturbing your girlfriend?” Daniella asked. She is Eric’s junior sister and they all came to party with her.

“ Boyfriend? Avery, you now have a new boyfriend?” Darren stepped closer as his eyes fixed on her. But Eric had warned him not to step closer, and immediately he was about to say another word to Avery, Eric’s guard threw a fist on his face and he fell roughly to the ground as blood oozed out from his nostrils.

“ Bastard, I thought I just warned you? Are you so poor that your brain is dull?” Eric stepped closer to Darren who was still lying on the floor, trying to stop his bleeding nose.

He moved closer to Darren and presses down his head against the floor with his black polished shoe.

“ Don’t you ever come close to her again and a poor thing like you, don’t deserve to have her.” He sneered pressing his head harder. Darren began to groan in pain and the laughter erupted again. This time louder.

Eric dropped his foot to the ground, giving Darren space to gain his stance. He stood up immediately and spat out the blood from his mouth but unfortunately the blood touched Eric polished shoe.

“ Fuck! What did you just do?” he exclaimed as though his shoe has been damaged.

“ That was a mistake but I’m not sorry.” Darren said, taking his eyes away from him and stared at Avery again. He has no business with this bastard, what he needed was to hear Avery speak to him. He badly wanted her to say this was all a prank and she just wanted to mess with him.
