“ You fucking bastard!” Eric felt like his pride was suddenly bruised as he attempted to throw his fist at Darren’s face again. But this time, Darren saw it coming that he grabbed his fist and gave it a twist that he began to groan.

His guards came around to attack but he threw a fist across them as well and they could barely withstand it.

When they are still trying to gain themselves, Darren grabbed Avery’s arm with ease as he pulled her to him.

“ Avery tell me it’s all a prank! Tell Them the truth about us!”

“ What should I tell them? Tell them that a poor delivery man like you is my boyfriend?” She scoffed as she smacked him in the face.

“ Stop embarrassing me and leave!” she groan as her eyes widen to the extreme, to show that she was dead serious and it wasn’t a prank.

His heart sank when she said she was embarrassing him. He wanted to let out his grief but he was in front of the crowd and couldn’t believe she was doing this to him.

“ You won’t leave right? Okay wait, let me tell everyone what we are!” she spat out.

“ Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for this unexpected drama. I want you all to go ahead with the party and ignore whatever had happened because this is just a delivery man that I have no business with. I have a rich boyfriend, his name is Eric Finn. Therefore this delivery guy is insignificant at all. Now get the fuck out of here!” she shoved a finger in his face as she made the announcement.

Darren stiffened for a second, he lowered his head in pain and turn towards the door to leave. He felt like his heart being smashed like a glass.

“ You don’t have the right to leave yet!” Eric's voice breaks the brief as Darren was about to leave stopping him in his tracks.

“ What do you need him for?” Avery asked him as she stared from Darren to Eric in bewilderment.

Eric finally gained himself as the blood stopped oozing out of his nose. He got on his feet and adjusted his suit.

“ He can’t leave like that without cleaning up my shoe that he just messed up with his filthy blood.” Eric bared his teeth as he began to walk close to Darren who was almost at the exit door.

Darren’s eyes were already red and seemed to be a bit flooded with tears but he didn’t allow them to pour down.

If he wanted to let out his pain, he would rather do it somewhere else even though it was in public, but never to do it in front of Avery and her friends and her damn new boyfriend.

“ Clean up my shoe before you step out of that door! And if you think your pride won’t let you do it then don’t worry. I will pay you a 3000 dollars just to clean up the mess you did to my shoe!” Eric ordered and everyone gasped when the price was mentioned.

“ That is so huge for this petty job!” the females began to whisper to one another.

“ Eric, this delivery man doesn’t deserve that price!” Daniella shouted at her elder brother and Eric smirked at her as he smiled at her to calm down.

“ It might be big for him but it’s like a change to us.” He replied back to his sister and she smiled as she quit the complain.

Darren doesn’t say a thing but just kept his gaze at Avery. He was staring heartbroken at the woman he gave all his love to.

The woman he would walk through fire for. He wondered if he would ever love this way again. If he would ever give any woman his heart again, he didn’t expect this from her.

“ Hey, I know you don’t earn up to 3000 dollars for even a month with that your delivery job. This is a chance to earn 3000 dollars in a day if you lower your pride and lick my shoe clean! After all, it is your blood.” He demanded.

Darren stiffened again as he clenched his fist at his sides.

“ Yes Darren, this is a great opportunity for you so that you can afford enough clothes to wear and a proper meal to eat.” Avery added, her friends joined her as they asked him to accept the job after all it was a perfect job for his caliber.

Darren was enraged that Avery was humiliating him too. Imagine she asked him to lick his shoe just for money. The walls of his chest clenched harder as his heart gave a tight squeeze.

“ I don’t believe you will stoop this low, Avery. You make me regret ever loving you!” he spat out after he choked down the tears. He was trying to hard to force back the tears that were threatening to roll down his cheeks.

“ Regret? Ah yeah, I never loved you Darren. I was fucking using you to survive! And now I don’t need you anymore. I have a rich boyfriend who deserves a beauty like me and not some delivery dirty guy!” she spat on his face, causing the audience to let out a awful exclaim at Darren. As though he seemed too filthy to be in front of them. They scoffed at him as if he was a trash and has no value at all.

“ Okay.” Darren nodded, biting down his lower lips so that he would control his temper and not do anything stupid because Eric is rich and rich people are evil.

Darren ignored the mockery from Eric and Avery friends as he turned to face the exit door again. This time he is not turning back.

“ Hey, you are going to leave 3000 dollars?!” Eric shouted on top of his voice as he watched Darren walked out the door.

Who killed Mr. Reeves, if not Eric? “I know you so well, Hector. Are you feeling something for my sister?” He narrowed his eyes at him as he released these teeth from the tight grit.“Maybe, but I never said you should read me out.” Hector twisted his lips.“Don’t you dare, Hector.” Darren threatened plainly before he turned back to stare at Laiza. She was gradually blinking her eyes open. It meant that their noise had disturbed her sleep.“Look what you too just did.” Leo accused, as he nudged his head towards her, that they had woken her up.“Shit, you caused this motherfucker.” Darren cursed at Hector, but a small laugh bubbled from his lips. He wanted to go close to her, but he needed to give Darren the space to speak with his sister.Hector wasn’t sure if she was going to recognize him as his brother because, according to Leo, she had been separated from him since she was six years old, and it might be a little difficult to remember him.He watched as Darren sat on the bed beside Laiza. However, I’m not calling because of her; I want you to watch the live news that’s going on right now.” Hector said it in suspense, but the way he sounded, it could only be one person who would go on the internet to cause an issue.Eric was the only and first person that came to mind.“On it, Hector.”He stayed on the call. Darren got into the driver seat and settled down to scroll through the internet.“The Reeves family is a mess since Mr. Reeves, the billionaire, died.
