You're Only a Parasite

Immediately after Sean ended the call with his family, his phone rang again.

“Yes, Caron, what’s the matter?” Sean asked softly. This time it was a woman Sean liked calling, and this woman was called Caron. Sean liked Caron because Caron used to feed him when he was hungry and had no money in his pocket.

Caron twisted off the phone after saying, “I’m waiting for you at the mall now, don’t be late!” Sean, on the other hand, grinned at her.

“Are you going to surprise me? Oh, my dear Caron, you are so sweet.” Sean smiled softly. Sean was sure that Caron invited him to the mall because she would surprise him with a very nice birthday.

Sean headed straight to the mall to meet his girlfriend without stopping at his apartment first.

Despite arriving at the mall 15 minutes late, Sean was still happy and had a pleasant smile.

“Why are you late?” Caron immediately scolded Sean. At this time, Caron was waiting for Sean in the hotel lobby with a sullen face.

“I’m sorry, I missed the bus earlier, so I have to wait for the next bus to come.” Sean looked at his girlfriend with an apologetic look.

Caron said excitedly, “Ah, whatever. Let’s go shopping now!” She then pulled Sean’s hand before he could respond.

Sean and Caron visited a clothing store where Caron experienced great delight.

“Sean, is this good?” Caron picked up a beautiful dress and showed it to Sean.

“Beautiful, but isn’t it expensive?” Sean quickly glanced at the dress’s price tag. The man’s eyes immediately widened when he learned the actual price of her dress.

Sean whispered to Caron, “Put it down. Let’s go somewhere else.” He wanted to take the pink dress from her, but she quickly pushed his hand away.

“What are you doing, Sean? I want this. Didn’t I ask you yesterday to prepare the money? Then why are you annoyed?” Caron looked at Sean with an angry look.

“I have the money, but not this much, Caron. You know where I get my money from, right?” Sean tried to speak softly to persuade his lover.

“I don’t want to know Sean, I want this dress!” Caron remained firm in her stance.

Sean took something out of his wallet. “I only have this Caron!”

“What? $100? Sean, are you kidding me? I want $1,000, not Sean. With this amount of money, I can buy everything I need!” Charon picks up a dress and returns to the shelf. Stomping his feet, Caron exited the clothing store.

“Wait for Caron.” Sean chased Caron as he walked down the hallway of the mall.

Caron insulted Sean, saying, “What else do you want to embarrass me with? It looks like I was wrong to expect anything from a poor man like you.” It was clear that Caron had been taking advantage of Sean from the start, but Sean, who was blind, could not see the true nature of Caron’s wrongdoing.

“We can still buy another Caron,” Sean assured Caron Sean even wanted to hold Caron’s hand, but she quickly brushed his away.

“Never mind, Sean, stop following me!” Caron, who had run out of patience, immediately left Sean. Sean, who was stubborn, continued to chase Caron without knowing that, at this time, Caron had completely dumped him.

Caron, who didn’t mind Sean following her, went straight to all the restaurants in the mall. Once she arrived, she immediately approached a table where she saw a man holding a cigarette.

“Honey, why the frown on your face?” The man hugged Caron intimately, making Sean, who saw it, could only remain silent.

“Honey? Who is this Caron? And why are you hugging my lover?” Sean realized this from reverie and immediately pulled Caron’s body from the strange man.

“What the hell are you doing?” Caron, of course, is furious at what Sean has done to her.

“Caron, who is it, honey? Let’s go shopping again, here’s my money.” Sean immediately gives the $100 into Caron’s hand so he can convince his girlfriend to leave the place.

“What is this? $100, poor girlfriend. Is that all you can give you, honey?” As he spoke, he insulted Sean, who was standing before him.

“You’re right, this poor guy is really useless. I’m tired of seeing him and you Sean, let’s go!” Without any sympathy, Caron kicked Sean out.

“Caron, what is this?” Sean could not accept his current position.

“Hey man, please realize yourself. My girl doesn’t want a poor man like you. My girl just wants your money, but now she seems to understand that a poor man like you won’t be able to give her everything she needs!” Sean was speechless at this heartless narration.

“Caron...” Sean called out to Caron softly. Sean still hoped that Caron just wanted to give him a surprise on his birthday.

“Sean, you need to understand that you have been a parasite to me all this time. Don’t you realize this about yourself? It doesn’t make sense for a woman as beautiful as me to be with someone like you. So, could you please go away now? I’m tired of seeing you.”

“You will regret doing this to me!” Sean, running out of patience, finally left the place.

Sean cursed, “Ah, shit!” as he stood at the bus stop and realized he had run out of money. He had given his last $100 to Caron earlier, and now he was left with no money for the next three days.

Sean walked to his place of residence while feeling upset, and throughout the journey, he kept cursing everyone who had made his birthday so terrible.

All the way home, Sean could only continue to clench his fists. The man felt that his heartache was unbearable. His stomach started to churn because the bright day had become dark. Night fell, but he had nothing to eat for dinner today.

"Caron why are you like this? Ah why isn't life fair!" Sean hit the wall of his room.

The man cried sadly, remembering the misfortune he had experienced today. He also did not expect that he would only get humiliation for more than three months of pursuing Caron.

Second by second continued to pass, and the midnight clock rang at the end. Sean, thinking about his bad luck, could only laugh sarcastically. He could no longer hold back his tears.

With the room lights dimmed, Sean grabbed his hair. The man did not expect his unlucky day to happen when he was on his birthday.

"Even when my birthday was over, the slightest happiness did not come to me. I hate everything! Sean continued to curse himself.

His 18th birthday was sadly missed, not to forget his stomach kept ringing, making it difficult for Sean to sleep correctly.

Before Sean could close his eyes, his cell phone rang. Hopelessly, Sean opened his old-fashioned cell phone with no enthusiasm.

"What? 100 million$? Am I dreaming?" shouted Sean, surprised to see a notification from his bank.

"No, this must be a dream!" Sean lightly smacked his face to confirm whether he was dreaming or not. Indeed 100 million dollars was an amount that Sean would never have in his current condition.

"Yes, it really is a dream. I'm sure I should fall asleep right now so that this delusion will disappear soon," said Sean, who couldn't believe what he was seeing even though the man also felt pain after slapping himself.

Sean eventually fell asleep, believing that what he saw was an illusion. The man fell asleep with the hunger that had evaporated somewhere after getting the notification from his account.

Actually, at this time, Sean was not dreaming. The man did get 100 million $ in his account.

However, the quite tiring day that Sean had today made the man unable to receive such a large amount of money overnight.
