The bulky man launched the bat at Jason's face again, this time, Jason didn't try to evade the bat, he caught it with his right hand, the bulky guy's eyes widened, before he could comprehend the movement, Jason pulled him closer with the bat.

Jason's strength was undeniably powerful, he easily pulled the bulky guy closer to himself like a tiny ant, before the man could regain his composure, Jason sent a powerful punch to his middle.

The force flew the man backwards, he landed close to Robert.

Robert was dumbfounded, how can bulky man lose to Jason, what is happening here, bulky man is the number one fighter here, how can he lose so easily.

Jason's footsteps were heard.

“Don't tell me that is all, I really want to learn some manners”

Robert face darkened.

“All of you, attack this moron, mash him to the ground”

The remaining six men behind Robert rushed forward to Jason, Jason remained unwavering as they approached him, for some unknown reason, he felt like they were little flies to him.

BANG

BANG

BANG

He smashed all the henchmen to the ground, some of them were unconscious on the floor, while some were crying like babies.

Natalie and Robert were stupefied, how is Jason this powerful.

Jason turned to face Robert.

“Since you couldn't teach me manners, it appears you don't have either, so I will have to teach you the one I know”

Jason's words vibrated Robert's legs, he quickly rushed to the closest car and drove off immediately.

Jason wanted to pursue him, but he decided to let him go, he still can't believe he took down six men without even getting touched by them.

What is happening to him, he feels so good, and he feels like he understands some certain fighting moves.

Jason's eyes moved to the ring on his right hand, it was glowing earlier, but he believes his brain was transmitting something else, after all, he was beaten up badly.

However, he wonders how his body went back to shape without even taking any supplements, he even feels better than before.

Ever since he thought this ring was glowing, everything about him was changing.

This ring is the only thing he has of his family, after he was abandoned by them.

Jason was thinking about the ring when Natalie tapped him from behind.

“Jason, I apologize for what Jade did to you. I know you are a good person”

Jason was utterly confused by Natalie's new behavior towards him.

“What do you want Natalie, why the sudden attitude”

Natalie takes a deep breath.

“How about I buy you dinner to apologize for Jade's wrong behavior, then I will tell you why”

Jason thought about it for a while before he nodded agreeing to her words, she defended him a while ago, perhaps she had changed.

“Okay, but I don't have any money with me, I hope you don't mind”

“Bills on me”

Natalie responded quickly, she brought her phone out and texted the first person on her chat.

“Mission successful”

She kept her phone back, then a cab arrived some minutes later.

They arrived at the restaurant, it was one of the biggest restaurants around, Fab restaurant, it's owned by the Landon family, Mr. Landon is one of the top men in the society.

Jason expected nothing less from Natalie, she likes high standard places, although her family is wealthy, but they can't be compared to Jade's family, that is why she follows Jade around.

They picked their table and sat down quietly.

Natalie lifted the menu on the table, and a waitress approached her immediately.

“Ma, what would you like to order, our special dishes are one of the best in Ocean Berry”

Jason wasn't putting ears to the waitress' words, his eyes were moving around the room, there was nobody here, he expected this place to boom with people, perhaps they are lucky to have this space to themselves.

“Jason, what do you like”

Natalie smiled at him, Jason picked up the menu, and dropped it back.

“Whatever you like, I mean you are the one paying. I don't forbid any food”

Jason stares at Natalie, why is she doing this anyway.

Natalie faces the waitress.

“Get us two plates of all the special dishes”

“Thank you, ma”

The waitress bows 90 degrees and turns away.

Jason's eyebrows raised a little.

“Can we finish that. It's too much”

Natalie dropped the menu back on the table.

“If we can't finish it, you can take the rest home, that is what I want”

Jason decided to check the cost of each special dish, he knows Natalie is rich but ordering two plates of all the special dishes, won't that be too expensive.

His eyebrows raised a little when he saw the amount on each. Five thousand for one special dish, and they are ten in numbers, which means, Natalie is paying a hundred thousand dollars for everything.

That is too much.

“Natalie, the cost is too much, why are you treating me to such a costly meal”

Jason couldn't believe what was happening, there is no way Natalie is doing this because she felt sorry for him, and there is no way that she likes him.

That can't be true, he doesn't even like her.

Natalie's place her phone on the table, she was typing when Jason was scanning through the prices.

She faced Jason.

“Can you just relax, I am the one paying the bills, I wanted to apologize on the behalf of Jade, and as for the expensive treating, I will tell you when we are done eating”

Jason was starting to feel uncomfortable, he had never tasted a meal that costs five thousand dollars, only a fool will buy such a meal.

Several waiters appeared in a straight line, if people were around, this would've easily taken the spotlight.

They bowed respectfully as they arranged the plates on the table.

They were done in less than five minutes.

Natalie stares at the dishes with excitement, there are some that she hasn't tasted before, she will start with those.

“Let's dig in”

“Thanks for the meal”

Jason picked up the spoon on the table, he was about to dive in when somebody laughter passed through his ears.

His attention immediately moved to the door, it was Jade, she was coming in with Robert, they were holding each other's hands, smiling brightly.

Jason's face darkened, Natalie followed his gaze and her face also darkened.

“Darling, look who is here, just who we were talking about”

He looked Derek dead in the eyes, no emotion in his face, only a quiet, unwavering promise of what was to come.“One…”He didn’t shout it. He whispered it. And somehow, that made it worse.“Two…”The sound echoed in the back of Derek’s mind, crawling under his skin.“Three…”Silence spread through the hall like a thick fog.“Four…”The old man tilted his head slightly, studying Derek like an insect he was about to crush. And just before the fifth word could slip from his lips, he added with a smirk that held no warmth—“If I reach five and you’re still standing there like a fool, I swear on everything that breathes, I will skin you alive for lying to my face.”Immediately, Derek looked up with fire in his eyes, the chains still around him barely restraining the heat that surged through his words. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t cower. Instead, he raised his chin slightly, defiantly, as if spitting in the face of fear itself.“Well,” he said, his voice strong and stubborn, “I don’t care. I

At that moment, Derek narrowed his eyes, his voice growing firmer as he responded with controlled defiance, “So the whole idea now is that I should what? Break this chair, prove myself, unleash whatever strength I have, just so you—an old man who thinks he sees everything can finally say I’m worthy?”He gave a slow shake of his head, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, though his heart pounded beneath his chest. “No. That’s not going to happen.”The guards tensed, hearing his tone. Even the old man slightly furrowed his brows, not expecting such a calm response. Derek continued, “You say I’m hiding behind lies. That I don’t have strength because your so-called all-seeing eyes can’t detect it. That’s not my fault. That’s on you. Maybe your eyes are failing. Maybe your senses are duller than you believe.”He leaned forward slightly in the chair, though his wrists were still tightly bound, his body aching from earlier blows. “Let me explain something very clearly,” he said

At that moment, Derek slowly lifted his head. His eyes, no longer filled with fear, locked directly onto the old man's gaze. There was no tremble in his voice this time. No stutter. Only silence at first, the kind of silence that made everyone else in the room hold their breath. Then slowly, Derek's lips curved—not into a smirk, not into a smile—but into something in between. Calm. Unshaken. And maybe, just maybe… dangerous."You said your eyes see everything," Derek said slowly, almost like he was speaking to a child. "Then maybe… it's time you went back and checked if those eyes of yours still work."The old man’s jaw tightened. The guards flinched, fists tightening. It wasn’t just the words Derek spoke—it was how he said them. The calmness in his voice, the control. The sheer disrespect. But more than that, it was the confidence. It was unnerving.“You speak boldly for someone still tied to a chair,” the old man said coldly, but even he could hear the shift. Something didn’t feel r

At that moment, upon hearing what the old man just said, something inside Derek twisted. It was like a slow, cold knife turning in his gut.Even though he was still tied to the chair, even though his body ached and his wrists were burning from the ropes cutting into them, his mind began to race. Piece by piece, the truth started to come together—painfully, clearly, and humiliatingly.“They’re talking about Jason…” Derek whispered to himself, barely audible. It all made sense now.The “other boy” the old man wanted… wasn’t just any other boy. It was Jason. The real fighter. The one who always stood in front, who always made sure Derek never had to lift a hand. The one who carried the team in the last competition the one who humiliated their enemies so badly that they came crawling back, hungry for revenge.Jason. Again.Derek bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, almost drawing blood. The bitterness tasted like shame. So that was it. These people, whoever they were, had seen the fi

Derek’s heart began to pound hard. Each thump felt like a drumbeat in his chest, a brutal rhythm echoing his rising fear. He tried his best to hide it, to stay calm, to remain the fearless Derek everyone knew. But inside, he was shaking. The cloth bag still covered his face, the ropes held him tight to the cold metal chair, and he couldn’t move an inch—not even enough to shift his weight. But none of that was what unsettled him.It was the sound, that slow… steady… tap… tap… tap of the walking stick hitting the floor. He didn’t know why, but there was something about that sound that gripped his chest like a vice. It wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t panicked. It was calm—too calm. Whoever was walking toward him wasn’t nervous, wasn’t afraid, wasn’t in a hurry. That kind of composure only came from one thing: power.Whoever it was… they were in charge. No doubt about it.Derek knew it in his bones. He didn’t need to see to know. That wasn’t just any man coming toward him that was the boss. The

Inside a warehouse that was so silent it almost swallowed sound, the air hung heavy with dust and the faint scent of oil and rusted metal. The dim light from a single flickering bulb above barely illuminated the vast, empty space, casting long, unsettling shadows across the cracked concrete floor. In the middle of the room, a lone metal chair sat under the bulb’s unsteady glow. And tied tightly to that chair was a man his head slumped forward, a rough cloth bag covering most of his face. His hands were bound behind the chair, his ankles strapped to its legs with thick rope that had already bruised his skin. He was breathing heavily, twitching now and then as the fog in his mind started to clear.A low groan escaped his lips as he stirred awake.Slowly, Derek began to lift his head, confused and disoriented. “Where... where am I?” he muttered under the bag, his voice hoarse from unconsciousness. He tried to move, but every attempt only made the ropes bite deeper into his skin. Panic se
