The bulky man launched the bat at Jason's face again, this time, Jason didn't try to evade the bat, he caught it with his right hand, the bulky guy's eyes widened, before he could comprehend the movement, Jason pulled him closer with the bat.

Jason's strength was undeniably powerful, he easily pulled the bulky guy closer to himself like a tiny ant, before the man could regain his composure, Jason sent a powerful punch to his middle.

The force flew the man backwards, he landed close to Robert.

Robert was dumbfounded, how can bulky man lose to Jason, what is happening here, bulky man is the number one fighter here, how can he lose so easily.

Jason's footsteps were heard.

“Don't tell me that is all, I really want to learn some manners”

Robert face darkened.

“All of you, attack this moron, mash him to the ground”

The remaining six men behind Robert rushed forward to Jason, Jason remained unwavering as they approached him, for some unknown reason, he felt like they were little flies to him.

BANG

BANG

BANG

He smashed all the henchmen to the ground, some of them were unconscious on the floor, while some were crying like babies.

Natalie and Robert were stupefied, how is Jason this powerful.

Jason turned to face Robert.

“Since you couldn't teach me manners, it appears you don't have either, so I will have to teach you the one I know”

Jason's words vibrated Robert's legs, he quickly rushed to the closest car and drove off immediately.

Jason wanted to pursue him, but he decided to let him go, he still can't believe he took down six men without even getting touched by them.

What is happening to him, he feels so good, and he feels like he understands some certain fighting moves.

Jason's eyes moved to the ring on his right hand, it was glowing earlier, but he believes his brain was transmitting something else, after all, he was beaten up badly.

However, he wonders how his body went back to shape without even taking any supplements, he even feels better than before.

Ever since he thought this ring was glowing, everything about him was changing.

This ring is the only thing he has of his family, after he was abandoned by them.

Jason was thinking about the ring when Natalie tapped him from behind.

“Jason, I apologize for what Jade did to you. I know you are a good person”

Jason was utterly confused by Natalie's new behavior towards him.

“What do you want Natalie, why the sudden attitude”

Natalie takes a deep breath.

“How about I buy you dinner to apologize for Jade's wrong behavior, then I will tell you why”

Jason thought about it for a while before he nodded agreeing to her words, she defended him a while ago, perhaps she had changed.

“Okay, but I don't have any money with me, I hope you don't mind”

“Bills on me”

Natalie responded quickly, she brought her phone out and texted the first person on her chat.

“Mission successful”

She kept her phone back, then a cab arrived some minutes later.

They arrived at the restaurant, it was one of the biggest restaurants around, Fab restaurant, it's owned by the Landon family, Mr. Landon is one of the top men in the society.

Jason expected nothing less from Natalie, she likes high standard places, although her family is wealthy, but they can't be compared to Jade's family, that is why she follows Jade around.

They picked their table and sat down quietly.

Natalie lifted the menu on the table, and a waitress approached her immediately.

“Ma, what would you like to order, our special dishes are one of the best in Ocean Berry”

Jason wasn't putting ears to the waitress' words, his eyes were moving around the room, there was nobody here, he expected this place to boom with people, perhaps they are lucky to have this space to themselves.

“Jason, what do you like”

Natalie smiled at him, Jason picked up the menu, and dropped it back.

“Whatever you like, I mean you are the one paying. I don't forbid any food”

Jason stares at Natalie, why is she doing this anyway.

Natalie faces the waitress.

“Get us two plates of all the special dishes”

“Thank you, ma”

The waitress bows 90 degrees and turns away.

Jason's eyebrows raised a little.

“Can we finish that. It's too much”

Natalie dropped the menu back on the table.

“If we can't finish it, you can take the rest home, that is what I want”

Jason decided to check the cost of each special dish, he knows Natalie is rich but ordering two plates of all the special dishes, won't that be too expensive.

His eyebrows raised a little when he saw the amount on each. Five thousand for one special dish, and they are ten in numbers, which means, Natalie is paying a hundred thousand dollars for everything.

That is too much.

“Natalie, the cost is too much, why are you treating me to such a costly meal”

Jason couldn't believe what was happening, there is no way Natalie is doing this because she felt sorry for him, and there is no way that she likes him.

That can't be true, he doesn't even like her.

Natalie's place her phone on the table, she was typing when Jason was scanning through the prices.

She faced Jason.

“Can you just relax, I am the one paying the bills, I wanted to apologize on the behalf of Jade, and as for the expensive treating, I will tell you when we are done eating”

Jason was starting to feel uncomfortable, he had never tasted a meal that costs five thousand dollars, only a fool will buy such a meal.

Several waiters appeared in a straight line, if people were around, this would've easily taken the spotlight.

They bowed respectfully as they arranged the plates on the table.

They were done in less than five minutes.

Natalie stares at the dishes with excitement, there are some that she hasn't tasted before, she will start with those.

“Let's dig in”

“Thanks for the meal”

Jason picked up the spoon on the table, he was about to dive in when somebody laughter passed through his ears.

His attention immediately moved to the door, it was Jade, she was coming in with Robert, they were holding each other's hands, smiling brightly.

Jason's face darkened, Natalie followed his gaze and her face also darkened.

“Darling, look who is here, just who we were talking about”

That she would be too broken to even step into the arena. But now, standing in front of them, strong and unshaken, they knew they had failed. And they hated it.Still, none of them would dare to admit it. Pride wouldn’t let them.So they all slipped back into their well-rehearsed roles—masks polished with false concern, eyes filled with calculated indifference.Cleo folded her arms across her chest, rolled her eyes dramatically, and scoffed. “Oh please, Soma. Don’t make it sound like some conspiracy theory. Nobody’s out to destroy you. You’re just… overreacting.”Ronnie quickly added, “Exactly. We just didn’t want to deal with your usual ‘I-know-it-all

At that moment, Jane’s laughter hadn’t even died down when Basil suddenly leaned forward, squinting as if he was trying to solve a riddle.“Wait a minute,” he said, pointing toward Jason, who was quietly standing behind Soma. “Don’t tell me… this is your partner?”The others followed his gaze, and their eyes landed on Jason. A subtle hush spread for a second, then came the burst of laughter again—twice as loud.Jane let out a dramatic gasp. “Oh no… no, no, no. You’ve got to be kidding me! This guy? What level is he even? What’s he doing here?”“Is he a vet student too?” Basil added mockingly. “Or is he just your emotional support animal?”The comment drew another wave of chuckles, and a few onlookers nearby tried to suppress their own smiles. Even the judge walking by gave them a slight glance, clearly unsure what the laughter was about.Jason said nothing. His hands were in his pockets, his expression calm as ever, but Soma could feel the heat crawling up her neck. Her chest tightene

That was why Summer was so afraid. She wasn’t just nervous because of the pressure—she was terrified of messing everything up in front of people who mattered. Her entire future was tied to this one moment. One wrong step, and it could all fall apart. She didn’t want to disappoint Jason. She didn’t want to disappoint herself.Jason could finally see it clearly now.He turned to her gently. “Now I understand,” he said in a low voice, “why you were afraid. This place is massive. It’s not just an event—it’s a test. It’s like a battlefield where only the best walk away.”Summer stayed quiet, breathing slowly.Jason stepped closer and added, “But listen… this is just the beginning. One day, you’ll be called to treat animals in war zones. You’ll be flown out to rescue endangered species. You’ll be handling rare conditions no one’s seen before. And when that time comes, I want you to remember today…”He gave her a soft smile. “Because you’re going to win this.”Summer didn’t speak, but her bo

Summer took a quiet breath and looked at Jason. There was a soft calm in her eyes now—not because the tension had left, but because she had decided to accept it. Sometimes, strength wasn’t about knowing everything would go well… it was about choosing to stand anyway. She looked at Jason with a faint smile.“Thank you,” she said, her voice gentle but filled with meaning. “For everything.”Jason didn’t interrupt. He stood still, letting her speak.Summer continued, “For everything you’ve been doing for me. For what you’re still doing. I know I haven’t said it enough, but I’m truly grateful.”She lowered her eyes for a second, the weight of her emotions catching up to her. “Thank you for giving me the courage to want to take this position. For pushing me not to be afraid.”Jason watched her quietly. His eyes softened as her words sank in.“For reminding me,” she said slowly, “that it’s okay to not know how everything will turn out… That it's okay to still go ahead and try. You made me wa

Jason’s eyes were sharp now unshaken, unwavering.Every word he spoke rang deep and true. His voice wasn’t loud, but the strength behind it made the room feel smaller. More intense. More focused.“This is not me bragging,” Jason said slowly, his gaze still fixed on her. “And this is not me trying to make things harder for you.”He took another step closer.“This is me telling you the truth, Summer.”His voice was low. Steady. But there was fire behind it now a steady flame that had been building since the moment he stepped in to help her.“We’re going to do this,” he said. “You and me.”Summer swallowed hard. Her lips parted, but no words came out.Jason’s expression didn’t waver. “The people who think they can crush you today the ones that think they can humiliate you, break your spirit, and make this your last chance in the field…”He shook his head.“They’re wrong.”He took another breath and said with quiet force, “They won’t win.”Summer’s heart pounded.Jason went on, voice hard

Her eyes didn’t meet his right away, instead trailing across the empty chairs and the quiet stage ahead of them.Jason’s expression didn’t change, but she could tell he heard her clearly.“You’re talking too much now,” Summer added, her tone firmer, but not cruel. She looked back at him, crossing her arms.“Even though I listened to what you said—about us doing this together, about making everything work—I know it’s not going to be easy, Jason.”Her voice cracked slightly with honesty.“I know it’s going to be hard,” she said. “Like, way, way dif
