Jason managed to find his way home, his head was heavy, and his eyes seemed to be getting weaker with every second that passed, it was all darkness for him.

He struggles with the handle of the door, before he finally inserted the key correctly, none of his buddies were around, they all left to various locations, obviously to find a girlfriend, he has been bragging all day about Jade, only to be rendered useless in the most humiliating way ever.

Jason crashed on his bed, he wanted this day to roll by quickly, or his existence should come to an end this minute.

His life is over anyway, he just offended Robert Jackson, the son of one of the most powerful men in the neighborhood, and the news about him and Jade has probably spread across the entire school.

Everybody will be looking at him with distrustful eyes, why did this had to happen, why did Jade become this heartless, she played him for a fool.

Jason's fist hardened, he was trying to get a good sleep, but his head was pounding nonstop, the thought about Jade was rampaging his head from different corners.

For some reason, he wasn't feeling the pain from the earlier bruises he received, instead his body was hot.

Jason stood up from his bed, he should sleep on the floor, his bed was completely soaked now, he spread some of his clothes on the floor, he wanted to sleep when a knock came from the door.

He believes one of his buddies was back, but he should've known that the door was not locked.

“Jason, are you in there”

Jason's eyebrows raised, he remembers the voice clearly, that is Natalie's voice, what is she doing here, she is one of Jade's girl's friends, his most hated one among them, why is she here.

Jason, still feeling the rage of the earlier scene, walked to the door with a deadly expression.

He opened the door violently.

“What do you want”

His eyes focused on the medium—height fair lady, with golden hair that reaches to her back.

Natalie shivered from Jason actions, she wanted to say something when a loud driving sound was heard, then a microphone voice followed.

“Bumpkin boy. Come out Jason!!, don't pretend you are not hearing me, I am giving you one minute to come out or don't blame us for intruding.

“Trust me, we will break everything we see inside”

Jason's face hardened, that is Robert's voice, how dare he come here to make trouble, after stealing his girlfriend away from him, he dared to show his face again.

He walked past Natalie without casting any glance at her, his body was back to normal, and he wasn't feeling any pain in his head or any part of his body, he was back to normal, and he seemed to be having a lot of energy.

Natalie steps to Jason front.

“You can't go outside, they will beat you up”

Jason was a little dumbfounded by Natalie's words, she is the one that always rains insults on him, why is she acting differently today.

“I am going, it's either I go or they come in and mess up my friends' things.”

Jason made his way downstairs, Natalie followed him from behind, she kept asking him to stay back inside, but he refused.

He came out of the door and five cars were packed at the compound of the dormitory, their front lights made it seem like daytime.

“I am here!”

Jason stands gallantly in front of the five cars.

The car's doors opened, Robert and his henchmen bounced forward with a cocky smile on their faces.

Robert was taking the lead, he sounded, as he stepped closer to Jason.

“My girlfriend is upset Jason, you ruined her reputation today”

Robert stood some feet away from Jason then he sounded again.

“She wants you to apologize”

Jason's fist hardened, Jade played him like a fool, he has nothing to do with her again.

“How can I apologize to a bitch, please don't lessen my reputation”

Robert's face darkened, he could see people were watching the scene from their windows, how can he let Jason insult his girlfriend this openly.

“I guess, she was right after all, you lack manners, your dead parents didn't teach you how to respect your seniors.

“I will have to help them with that”

Robert snapped his fingers, and the bulky guy among his henchmen stepped forward to Jason,

He was holding a baseball bat.

“Hit him on his stomach”

The guy grins as he walks closer to Jason.

“Shut your dirty mouth kid”

He swings his bat at Jason's face, but Jason evades the attack. Jason was surprised by his quick response, he was still thinking about it when the bulky man smashed his fist on his stomach.

Jason crumbles to his knees by the force.

“You little brat!”

The man wanted to punch Jason again when Natalie pleaded with him.

“Please, don't hurt him”

She faces Robert.

“Please Robert, Jason will stay away from Jade and you guys, just leave him alone”

Robert's cheeks formed a half smile, his expression changed to a surprise one.

“Natalie, is that you, what are you doing with this punk, don't tell me he has caught you in his web of lies”

Natalie's face darkened.

“Who I chose to walk with doesn't concern you, you guys have done enough to him already. Have a heart, Robert”

Robert closes his eyes like he was thinking deeply.

“Boys, let's go, let leave these two crazy people”

The bulky man spat close to Jason.

Jason's fist hardens, he stands to his feet.

“You can't just go, you came here to teach me manners, please, I am willing to learn.”

Robert's face darkened, he didn't know Jason was a big talker too, because Natalie is pleading for him, he thinks he can showcase his big mouth.

“Bulky, teach him a lesson, just beat him to the ground”

He was surprised Jason didn't sustain any injuries from the earlier beating, he looks fresh, he didn't even bandage any part of his body, his men went too easy on him.

“My pleasure, Sir!”

The bulky guy stepped forward to Jason again, this time with a serious expression.

“I am going to beat the shit out of you now”

Jason didn't wait for him to come, he strode towards him, he was feeling a sudden sense of energy lingering inside him, when he received the earlier punch, he suddenly felt a burst of energy inside him.

He feels he can take them on.

At that moment, Abigail could only shake her head, the weight of disappointment pressing heavily on her chest. Her perfectly styled hair barely moved, but her fingers twitched by her sides, curling slightly in silent frustration. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go—not at all. She had walked into this meeting with the confident belief that she held the upper hand. She thought all it would take was a bit of pressure, a few sharp words, and Summer would eventually fold. That she would give them what they wanted. That the girl would break under the tension of so many eyes watching her, judging her.But Summer didn’t.And now, Abigail stood there, silently swallowing the chaos that was erupting within her. Because this wasn’t just about authority or pride. No, it was far deeper than that. She had come here with a purpose—one purpose only. Not for politics. Not for status. She wasn’t here to punish or prove anything. What she truly wanted, the only reason she had sat through this st

At that moment, Soma folded her arms, her gaze firm and unwavering as she stood her ground before the panel. Her voice came out with a sharp edge, clear and unapologetic. “Let me make this very clear,” she began, her tone calm but cold, “the person I came with whoever he is, whatever he is that has nothing to do with any of you. It is not your business. Not one bit. So why are you all pressing so hard like I’ve committed a crime? Why are you trying to twist this into something it’s not?”The room went quiet again, but this time it wasn’t the shocked kind of silence it was the tense kind, the one that made people shift in their seats and look at one another, unsure whether to interrupt her or let her finish.Soma continued, her voice unwavering, “If you think I’ve done something wrong, then do what you need to do. Run your investigation. Check your footage. Call in your experts. But if you think I’m going to stand here and hand over that person’s identity to satisfy your curiosity, you

At that moment, Abigail’s voice grew firmer as she adjusted the files in front of her and leaned forward slightly, casting a sharp glance at Soma. There was no warmth in her eyes now only the cold, calculated tone of someone who had made up her mind before the conversation even started. She said clearly, “So, for everything that has happened, and for the consequences we’re now dealing with, Soma you need to apologize. Not just any apology. A sincere one. And it has to be public. That means you’re going to record a video where you will clearly state that you overreacted, and you’ll admit that you should have followed due process instead of taking matters into your own hands. No excuses. No back and forth. Just a clean, public statement of remorse.”The room became uncomfortably still.Soma blinked in disbelief, trying to keep her expression composed, but anyone paying close attention could see the flicker of shock on her face. Still, she didn’t say a word. But Abigail wasn’t finished.

At that moment, hearing what Mr. Dave just said, Soma’s heart skipped a beat. Her fingers twitched slightly on her lap, and for a second, she blinked in quiet surprise. She had known she was coming for a meeting yes. But she didn’t expect this. She didn’t expect to be the reason the entire association gathered in this room full of respected dignitaries, top veterinary professionals, and people who barely even glanced at her the first time she walked through those heavy glass doors. She slowly turned her head toward Mr. Dave, her eyes searching his face, as if trying to find the catch behind his calm, serious tone. But there was none. He was serious. He meant every word.Mr. Dave, sensing her confusion, continued.“Well,” he began, folding his hands together on the table and leaning forward slightly, “we heard about what happened during the competition. And I must say… you didn’t just pass, Soma. You passed with flying colors. Your results and your performance spoke louder than any rum

  • CHAPTER 397

At that moment, she didn't waste any time. She drove carefully, her hands tight on the steering wheel, her mind still swirling with mixed thoughts about Jason, Camilla, and everything happening around her. The city roads felt longer than usual, even though she knew exactly where she was going. She was headed to the Association of Veterinarians Headquarters, a place she had only seen a few times before, but today, she had been personally invited. They had called her earlier that morning for an urgent meeting, and even though her emotions were not fully settled, she had decided to honor the invitation. After all, the association had now become the talk of the town—every top vet clinic, pet hospital, and animal rescue center wanted to be affiliated with it. And she, being a rising star in the veterinary world, was finally being recognized. When she got there, the building itself looked more prestigious than she remembered. It was a tall, glass-structured office with a bold sign that read

At that moment, Soma’s sister stood her ground, arms crossed tightly and her eyes burning with stubborn fire. She looked directly at Soma with a challenging stare, refusing to back down.“Well, that’s not my concern,” she said, her voice firm and full of defiance. “You’re only saying all this because you’re trying to be nice. Because you’re trying to be kind and proper and careful like you always are.”She scoffed lightly. “But let’s not act like there’s nothing there. There is something. Everyone can feel it, even Jason probably knows it, and you” she pointed at Soma, “you’re the only one pretending not to see it.”She took a sharp breath and tossed her hair over her shoulder. “Since you don’t want to go talk to Jason… since you don’t want to push yourself to say how you feel, then I will. I’m going to do it myself. Nobody is stopping me.”Her voice rose slightly. “Jason is my friend too. And if you’re too scared to be honest, then someone else has to say it for you, and that’s what
