“I understand”

He frowns as he ends the phone call, Natalie blocked his view immediately.

“Can your dad help”

“He can't”

Robert covers his face with both of his palms.

“This is the Mayor orders, my dad possibly can't do anything”

Natalie's heart vibrated, she squats on the floor with more tears streaming down from her face, she would have to quit school, the contract working time is twenty hours daily, at this rate, she is never going to graduate.

Her body was shaking, it's because of that animal, that pauper.

Robert faces Natalie.

“It's not over yet, my dad says they are having a meeting with the Mayor tomorrow, he will ask his boss to talk to him, at least you are still a student, he will lessen the working time”

“What about the years, can he help with that…. it's twenty years, twenty years!”

She will be forty before her contract expires, that is insane. Totally insane.

Robert massaged his forehead, with a sign of disappointment written on his face.

“That is the highest he can do. Let just pray this even works”

Natalie suddenly felt sick, she felt like throwing up, but the rage inside was making her body extremely hot. She stands up and roars.

“So Jason just got to walk away from this. This is not right at all”

Her voice was turning into a tearful one.

“This is meant for Jason, Jason is the one that is supposed to sign the contract not me, now he just gets to walk away, this is not fair at all, Not good at all”

Robert's cheeks moved when he heard Natalie words, although he is worried about her current condition, but he couldn't ask for a better outcome than this.

“Who said he is going scouts free from this”

He faces Jade.

“Jason will be killed tonight, Mr. Landon has sent some men after him, his life ends tonight!”

Mr. Landon texted him a while ago asking for all sorts of information about Jason, only a fool won't understand what Mr. Landon motives are.

Jade's face brightens up, there is no way Mr. Landon will let Jason live. Jason might even be dead already.

“That bastard doesn't deserve to live, he went overboard!”

Natalie's heart beat returns to normal when she hears Robert's words, she can't wait to hear the good news tomorrow or see the dead body.

“Yes, that serves him right, he should die for what he did to me”

**

Jason comes down from the bus station, he still can't believe that he is from a prestigious family, and even the Mayor of Ocean Berry is one of his disciples.

He finds this difficult to believe in a way, but the ring is real, something is expanding inside his body, and he is gaining knowledge of things he doesn't know before, he knows how long it will take him to get to the dormitory, and he also knows that five people are following him from behind.

Jason halted his movement.

“What do you want”

He voiced out without facing them. Five men emerged from the shadows, the man in the middle was holding a cigarette, he uttered in a cocky manner.

“That is sharp for an amateur, but you only discovered these morons”

His eyes moved to the men beside him, he coughed out a large smoke.

“I am sorry kid, but our boss wants you dead”

Jason turned to face them, he had figured that out already, who would follow a kid inside a narrow shortcut, and their movement was faster immediately he entered the alley.

“Is your boss name Joe Landon”

The man throws his cigarettes away and steps on it.

“It doesn't matter, kid. What matters is that you are going to die today”

The man and his men launched forward to Jason without wasting any time.

Jason's eyebrows pushed down, these men are far stronger than the bodyguard that were following Mr. Landon earlier, they seem to have reached a certain stage that differentiate them from a normal fighter.

Their boss is even more powerful, Jason balled his hand into a fist, he can handle one of them, but several will be quite difficult to handle, neither the case, it's his life or theirs.

The men wanted to attack when a car light suddenly shone through the narrow alley, the car was at the entrance of the alley, the brightness of the light revealed everything inside the alley, even the sands on the floor could be seen.

“What the fuck is this!!”

One of the men shouted as he shielded his eyes from the bright light.

The boss was trying to capture the people inside the car, but he couldn't see anything.

“Who the fuck are these people”

One of the men shouted again, feeling irritated by the obstruction of the flow.

The car door opened, and three people emerged from inside, they stepped to the front of the car and the front light switched off instantly.

The place was even darker than before, a heavy breeze suddenly passed through the alley, it vibrated Bobby and his men's clothes, and the sound of footsteps was heard next.

Bobby's face darkens, these people are trying to play mind games with them. Do they think that they are some kind of local gang, they probably think that they are thieves.

“Go fuck these people up!”

Bobby men screamed as they launched forward to the people approaching them, their screaming sound halted immediately they entered the darkness.

Bobby eyebrows raised a little, what the hell is going on, he is not sensing his men's pressure anymore, they haven't even engaged in battle yet.

He tried to sense the presence ahead of him, but he got nothing, a loud bang sound followed next.

One of Bobby's men was sent flying to Bobby direction, he collapsed close to Bobby, his head was twisted to his back.

Bobby heart kicked, what the fuck is this. Three loud kicking sound followed immediately, and three of Bobby men were sent flying to his direction, they crashed close to him.

They were in the same condition as the first one.

What the fuck is this.

Bobby's heart was pounding heavily now, he thought these people were normal individuals, but this is not normal, how can a one-star warrior die so easily, without even getting to throw a fist.

Who the fuck are these people.

Somebody finally emerged from the darkness, he was standing around 206 cm tall, his presence seemed to have seized the movement of the air in the surrounding.

Bobby heart beat was racing, his eyes moved to the man face, and he collapsed to his knees, what the fuck has he done, the night king himself, Giovanni Hades.

  • CHAPTER 450

At that moment, Derek narrowed his eyes, his voice growing firmer as he responded with controlled defiance, “So the whole idea now is that I should what? Break this chair, prove myself, unleash whatever strength I have, just so you—an old man who thinks he sees everything can finally say I’m worthy?”He gave a slow shake of his head, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, though his heart pounded beneath his chest. “No. That’s not going to happen.”The guards tensed, hearing his tone. Even the old man slightly furrowed his brows, not expecting such a calm response. Derek continued, “You say I’m hiding behind lies. That I don’t have strength because your so-called all-seeing eyes can’t detect it. That’s not my fault. That’s on you. Maybe your eyes are failing. Maybe your senses are duller than you believe.”He leaned forward slightly in the chair, though his wrists were still tightly bound, his body aching from earlier blows. “Let me explain something very clearly,” he said

  • CHAPTER 449

At that moment, Derek slowly lifted his head. His eyes, no longer filled with fear, locked directly onto the old man's gaze. There was no tremble in his voice this time. No stutter. Only silence at first, the kind of silence that made everyone else in the room hold their breath. Then slowly, Derek's lips curved—not into a smirk, not into a smile—but into something in between. Calm. Unshaken. And maybe, just maybe… dangerous."You said your eyes see everything," Derek said slowly, almost like he was speaking to a child. "Then maybe… it's time you went back and checked if those eyes of yours still work."The old man’s jaw tightened. The guards flinched, fists tightening. It wasn’t just the words Derek spoke—it was how he said them. The calmness in his voice, the control. The sheer disrespect. But more than that, it was the confidence. It was unnerving.“You speak boldly for someone still tied to a chair,” the old man said coldly, but even he could hear the shift. Something didn’t feel r

  • CHAPTER 448

At that moment, upon hearing what the old man just said, something inside Derek twisted. It was like a slow, cold knife turning in his gut.Even though he was still tied to the chair, even though his body ached and his wrists were burning from the ropes cutting into them, his mind began to race. Piece by piece, the truth started to come together—painfully, clearly, and humiliatingly.“They’re talking about Jason…” Derek whispered to himself, barely audible. It all made sense now.The “other boy” the old man wanted… wasn’t just any other boy. It was Jason. The real fighter. The one who always stood in front, who always made sure Derek never had to lift a hand. The one who carried the team in the last competition the one who humiliated their enemies so badly that they came crawling back, hungry for revenge.Jason. Again.Derek bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, almost drawing blood. The bitterness tasted like shame. So that was it. These people, whoever they were, had seen the fi

  • CHAPTER 448

Derek’s heart began to pound hard. Each thump felt like a drumbeat in his chest, a brutal rhythm echoing his rising fear. He tried his best to hide it, to stay calm, to remain the fearless Derek everyone knew. But inside, he was shaking. The cloth bag still covered his face, the ropes held him tight to the cold metal chair, and he couldn’t move an inch—not even enough to shift his weight. But none of that was what unsettled him.It was the sound, that slow… steady… tap… tap… tap of the walking stick hitting the floor. He didn’t know why, but there was something about that sound that gripped his chest like a vice. It wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t panicked. It was calm—too calm. Whoever was walking toward him wasn’t nervous, wasn’t afraid, wasn’t in a hurry. That kind of composure only came from one thing: power.Whoever it was… they were in charge. No doubt about it.Derek knew it in his bones. He didn’t need to see to know. That wasn’t just any man coming toward him that was the boss. The

  • CHAPTER 447

Inside a warehouse that was so silent it almost swallowed sound, the air hung heavy with dust and the faint scent of oil and rusted metal. The dim light from a single flickering bulb above barely illuminated the vast, empty space, casting long, unsettling shadows across the cracked concrete floor. In the middle of the room, a lone metal chair sat under the bulb’s unsteady glow. And tied tightly to that chair was a man his head slumped forward, a rough cloth bag covering most of his face. His hands were bound behind the chair, his ankles strapped to its legs with thick rope that had already bruised his skin. He was breathing heavily, twitching now and then as the fog in his mind started to clear.A low groan escaped his lips as he stirred awake.Slowly, Derek began to lift his head, confused and disoriented. “Where... where am I?” he muttered under the bag, his voice hoarse from unconsciousness. He tried to move, but every attempt only made the ropes bite deeper into his skin. Panic se

  • CHAPTER 446

At that moment, upon hearing what the boss just said, Jason couldn’t help but start smiling that cold, calm kind of smile that sent chills through anyone who saw it. “Well,” Jason said slowly, his voice low and controlled, “I told you before… one way or the other, I would definitely get my answer. Which I’ve already done. So, you have no use to me again.”His words echoed slightly against the tiled walls of the restroom, mixing with the faint dripping sound from a leaky faucet. The air grew heavier, colder. The boss, still kneeling weakly, could barely lift his head. That was when he actually realized that he had already spilled everything every secret he swore he would never tell, every name he was supposed to die protecting. The realization struck him harder than any physical blow could have. His eyes widened, trembling with regret and fear.Jason stepped closer, his boots making a light thud against the wet floor. “You see,” Jason continued, his tone turning indifferent, “you can d
