CHAPTER TWO

THE SPECIAL ONE

Prince Elliot Alexander had always been called “Special” ever since he was just a young lad but he was not aware of the reason behind the name, sometimes the boy thought the reason to be his eye colors which was a combination of brown and black {brown left eye, black on the right} but he knew the reason behind his queer eye colors but what puzzled him was the way his father bragged about the prowess of his kingdom and how the kingdom was going to rule over all the others, his father always put Elliot in front of everything and that was understandable because the king lost his wife on the day Elliot was born so it was only fair that the only son should receive showers of spoiling and blessings. Growing up in a royal palace would make anyone lazy because they had servants that would do anything that they wanted within a snap of their fingers but Elliot was a remarkable exception, he was in love with hard work and he loved working in the barns with the stable keepers where his stead was tended to, Elliot always wanted to help out with anything even though his father had warned him severally about it.

“But why father? Why am I not allowed to do my own laundry or even cook my own food? Am I handicapped?” Elliot blustered at his father when he was just twelve years old, he had been washing the dishes with one of the maids because she was ill but his father had caught him helping her.

“Because you are the heir of the greatest kingdom in the region, you should carry yourself like the prince that you are… you shouldn’t be seen with the minors and simpletons” his father spoke with so much pride, Ivan Alexander the third was a man of high praise and smaller nations quaver when they say his name, pride was one of his pronounced attributes and that was what he was trying to inject into his son.

“They are human beings just like me, why should they be treated differently just because of a position or a title? The lady has a name and it is not called simpleton” Ivan lost his temper and gave his son a hard slap across the cheek, he had not been wanting to hit him but he had lost his temper because of Elliot’s smart mouth.

“I will not condone such disrespect from you! You are a prince and very soon you will be the heir of this great kingdom so you better start acting like it or I get somebody that will set your head straight” the look that Elliot gave his father sent chills through the body of Ivan, he was afraid of what his son was truly capable of even though he knew that Elliot was nothing more than a twelve year old child.

“I am sorry, sir” Elliot said with sarcasm behind it and his smart mouth warranted him another slap on his face, he didn’t cry or flinch and it was almost as if he had been expecting it to happen.

“I don’t want to see you around that barn again! Unless you are going there to get your horse and that’s that!” Ivan was scolding his son with a half heart, he was still afraid of the potential that the young lad possessed.

“But father-” Elliot was about to make his point clear to his father but as usual, his words were not heeded by the great king of Mytigon.

“No buts! From now on you will be constantly watched and trained by a guardian who will teach you how to improve your sword fighting ability, the military needs a new commander and there wouldn’t be a better option than the future king himself, you shall rule over all the military of the minor kingdoms and towns under Mytigon… you have a very bright future ahead of you, my special one” Ivan was not joking about the hiring a guardian for the young Elliot, the guardian was very strict with training and he made sure that Elliot learnt etiquette and he began to act like a proper prince.

It didn’t take a long time before Elliot discovered a new found passion in sword fighting, he trained so hard with his guardian to the point where he could proudly boast of a power level of a battalion captain just at the age of fifteen, Elliot grew up loving bravery and acts of chivalry and that made the women in different kingdoms moan out his name whenever they had their baths, with a height that was well over six feet it was no wonder why most enemies run away from him before the fight even started, he had jet black hair that was slicked back with shiny grease which made him look more like a gentleman more than an Italian man, the aura he carried was a powerful one that was filled with pride but the aura immediately vanished whenever he smiled, his body was athletic and muscular in shape which made him able to run fast and wield weapons that weighed twice his weight.

Ivan watched his son grow with so much happiness in his heart, he was happy because Elliot had grown to be a fine young man that was filled with good morals and sword fighting skills that surpassed any warrior that was in all the lands, the power level was off the charts and the guardian had told Ivan about the hidden powers that laid in his son, a sort of power that could end the whole of existence if it was not controlled, the power was so strong that it made Elliot’s eye colors to change whenever he was in ‘battle mode’, it made him ruthless and for the rest of the fight Elliot would become a savage beast that would not stop at nothing until his opponent his dead and this was how his guardian was killed by his own hands; unknown to Elliot because his father had not told him the full truth about the guardian’s death but the point was clear to Ivan that his son was not ordinary and never was he destined to live an ordinary life.

As time went on; Elliot became in charge of the military and led Mytigon to many successful wars and conquests, it was because of his strength that made his father’s kingdom to expand it’s territory to the point that they were much bigger than the kingdom of Briggs which was in alliance with Mytigon due to the truce that bound them together in peace, Ivan constantly worried about the truce as time went on because as Elliot grew older it was only a matter of time before he had to tell him about the conditions of the truce, Ivan was afraid of telling Elliot about it because he was scared of how his son might react to the information, he was afraid that the information might make him lose his ‘Special One’.
