Marcus approached the hotel's grand entrance, his simple clothes contrasting sharply with the opulent surroundings. The moment Alessandro spotted him, the billionaire's face lit up with relief and joy.

"Mr. Kane!" Alessandro rushed forward, bowing deeply with the reverence one would show a divine healer. "Thank you for coming. I was beginning to worry you wouldn't honor our meeting."

"The God of War always keeps his word," Marcus replied with supernatural composure.

The hotel's wealthy guests stopped their conversations to stare in amazement. They couldn't understand why Alessandro Romano—a man who commanded respect from presidents and kings—was treating this ordinary-looking young man like visiting royalty.

"This is incredible," one socialite whispered to her companion. "Who could possibly earn such deference from the Romano Empire's CEO?"

Valentina emerged from the hotel lobby, her designer dress rustling as she approached with obvious irritation. Her beautiful face was twisted with anger and disbelief.

"Papa, enough of this charade!" she snapped, her voice sharp enough to cut glass. "This boy looks barely old enough to have finished high school, let alone be some kind of miracle doctor. You're making a fool of yourself in front of everyone."

"Valentina, please show some respect," Alessandro warned gently.

"Respect?" Valentina laughed mockingly. "For this obvious scammer? Look at him, Papa! He's wearing clothes from a discount store and probably hasn't seen the inside of a real medical school in his life."

Marcus studied Valentina with divine perception, seeing the fear beneath her anger. "Your concern for your father is understandable, but your accusations are misguided."

"Misguided?" Valentina's eyes blazed with fury. "You took advantage of my father's desperation, you pathetic con artist! Whatever trick you pulled earlier is wearing off, and now he's getting worse!"

She cannot perceive the divine nature of what she witnessed, Marcus thought, his godly patience tested by mortal ignorance.

As if summoned by her words, Alessandro suddenly doubled over in a violent coughing fit. His face turned ashen as he struggled to breathe, each cough more painful than the last.

"Papa!" Valentina cried out in terror.

Alessandro's coughing intensified, and thick black blood spattered onto the pristine marble floor. The hotel guests gasped and stepped back in horror as the powerful businessman collapsed to his knees.

"Your father needs immediate attention," Marcus said, his divine healing instincts activating. "Take him to a private room, now."

"Don't you dare touch him!" Valentina screamed, positioning herself between Marcus and her father. "You've done enough damage, you fraud!"

"MOVE!" Marcus commanded, his voice carrying supernatural authority that made the entire lobby tremble.

The divine power in his tone was so overwhelming that Valentina found herself stepping aside against her will, her body obeying the God of War's command before her mind could protest.

Together, they helped the weakening Alessandro into the hotel's presidential suite. Marcus immediately placed his fingers on Alessandro's wrist, his supernatural senses reading the man's condition with precision that surpassed any mortal medical equipment.

The divine healing triggered a purification process, Marcus realized, but his body is struggling to expel decades of accumulated toxins.

The suite's doors burst open as Dr. Eduardo Martinez rushed in, his medical bag clutched in his weathered hands. The elderly physician had been treating the Romano family for over twenty years and commanded respect throughout the medical community.

"Doctor Martinez!" Valentina threw herself at the man's feet. "Please save my father! This... this charlatan did something to him and now he's dying!"

She pointed accusingly at Marcus, her voice dripping with venom. "That scammer tricked Papa into believing he could heal his lung injury, and now look what's happened!"

Dr. Martinez pushed Marcus aside dismissively and began examining Alessandro with practiced efficiency. His stethoscope moved across the patient's chest as he checked vital signs and assessed the situation.

"This is very serious," Dr. Martinez muttered, his brow furrowed with concern. "Mr. Romano has a severely damaged lung and what appears to be a chronic condition that's been hidden for years."

"How is that possible?" Valentina asked desperately.

"Someone has forced his immune system into overdrive," the doctor explained grimly. "The body is trying to heal itself too quickly, causing a violent rejection response. Who treated him before I arrived?"

"Him!" Valentina pointed at Marcus with shaking fury. "That fake doctor did something to Papa and made everything worse!"

"I saved your father's life," Marcus replied with divine dignity. "I took nothing from him and asked for nothing in return."

"Liar!" Valentina shrieked. "You're nothing but a street con artist preying on desperate people!"

Dr. Martinez opened his medical bag and withdrew a small black pill, placing it on Alessandro's tongue. "This will help stabilize his condition temporarily."

The elderly physician then produced a set of gleaming silver acupuncture needles, preparing to insert them into specific pressure points along Alessandro's torso.

"Stop," Marcus said quietly, his divine medical knowledge recognizing the danger immediately. "That approach will cause more harm than healing."

Dr. Martinez looked up with obvious irritation. "Excuse me? Are you questioning my medical expertise?"

"Your technique is flawed," Marcus continued with supernatural certainty. "The silver needles will disrupt his energy flow and counteract the natural healing process. You're about to kill him."

"Kill him?" Dr. Martinez laughed condescendingly. "Young man, I've been practicing traditional medicine for over forty years. I was performing acupuncture before you were even born."

"Age doesn't guarantee wisdom," Marcus replied calmly.

"Listen, you arrogant little boy," Dr. Martinez snarled, his professional pride wounded. "I don't know what kind of street magic you think you performed, but real medicine requires years of study and experience. You look like you should be flipping burgers, not giving medical advice."

Valentina nodded vigorously. "Exactly! This scammer probably learned his 'healing' from YouTube videos and thinks he can fool everyone."

These mortals cannot comprehend celestial healing arts, Marcus thought, watching as Dr. Martinez prepared to insert the first needle. Their ignorance may cost Alessandro his life.

"Doctor Martinez," Marcus said with divine authority, "if you insert that needle into the Tianchi pressure point while his qi is in a state of flux, you will cause irreversible damage to his heart meridian."

The elderly physician paused, startled by the precise medical terminology. "How could you possibly know about meridian theory?"

"Because unlike you," Marcus replied with godly confidence, "I understand the true nature of healing."

Marcus stepped through the temporal rift and found himself in a city he had tried to forget. The streets were the same. The buildings were the same. The people were the same. But everything felt different now. He was not the man who had lived here. He was something else. A ghost. A guardian. A prisoner of his own making. He stood outside the apartment where young Marcus lived. Through the window, he could see himself. Younger. Softer. Unmarked by the years of suffering that would shape him. The sight made Marcus's chest tighten. He was about to destroy that young man's life. Again.Victor Blackwood's car pulled up across the street. Marcus watched his old enemy step out, young and arrogant and cruel. Victor was here to attack Sophia. To start the chain of events that would send Marcus to prison.Marcus had to let it happen. He moved to a shadowed alley, invisible to the past, and waited. The attack came quickly. Victor's men dragged Sophia from her home. Young Marcus heard her screams

  • CHAPTER 82: The Temporal Loop

The message played again. Marcus listened to his own voice, younger, unbroken by prison, untouched by cosmic awareness. A version of himself that had not yet suffered. That had not yet grown."You don't know me, but I know you." The words echoed through the command center. "Your actions have created a temporal loop. A paradox. Something that threatens to undo everything."Dr. Martinez studied the dimensional readings. "The message is authentic. Same spiritual signature. Same connection to the source. Same everything.""Same me," Marcus said quietly. "But from before."Maria pulled up timeline projections. "If the loop closes, his past self's actions will determine your present. And your present actions will determine his past. It's a causal circle.""What happens if the circle breaks?""Everything. Your journey. The academy. The cosmic balance. All of it, unmade."The being that had been the Collective stepped forward. "In my universe, we encountered temporal loops. They were always f

"You've been standing here for hours.""I've been thinking.""About what?""About who I am now. What I've become. What I want to be."She leaned against him. "And what did you decide?"Marcus was quiet for a long moment. "I want to be human. Not because it's easier. Because it's real. Because the people I love are human. Because the life I want is human.""Marcus, you've never been just human. Not since prison. Not since Elder Chen trained you.""I know. But I've also never been just cosmic. I've been somewhere in between. Floating. Neither one thing nor the other." He turned to face her. "I want to choose. Fully. Complet

  • CHAPTER 80: The Unconscious Choice

The peace of unconsciousness. The rest that never ended. The freedom from the endless noise of being. This is what I have always been, the Void said without words. This is what I will always be. And you, Marcus Kane, are the first consciousness to ever visit.Marcus did not respond. Could not respond. There was no Marcus to respond. But somewhere, deep in the absence, something stirred. Not a thought. Not a feeling. Something older. The drive that had made consciousness choose existence in the first place. The spark that had separated something from nothing. The Original Void felt it and was confused. You are not supposed to have anything here. This is the place before. The sil

The silence came first. Not the absence of sound. The absence of thought. Students at the academy found themselves pausing mid-sentence, forgetting what they were about to say. Teachers lost their place in lessons. Even the dimensional anchors hummed softer, as if forgetting their purpose.Marcus felt it through his connection to the source. Something vast and ancient pressing against the edges of awareness. Not hostile. Not hungry. Just... present. The way a mountain is present. The way the ocean is present. The way nothing is present when there has never been anything else."The Original Void," he said quietly. "It's waking."Valentina stood beside him, her hand in his. "I can feel it. The Predator's wound healed slowly. Marcus felt it through his connection to the source. The entity was recovering, learning, adapting. It had been hurt by something it didn't understand. Choice. Diversity. The refusal to fit into its neat hierarchy of evolution. It would not make the same mistake twice.Weeks passed. The academy returned to something like normal. Students trained. Healers healed. Teachers taught. But everyone felt the Predator's presence at the edges of awareness. Watching. Waiting. Hungry.Dr. Martinez called Marcus to his office on a rainy afternoon. The old doctor looked tired, his age finally catching up with him, but his eyes were sharp."I've been studying the Predator's patterns. Its hunting methods. Its targets." He pulled up data on his screen. "It's not random. It's not even hunger, not really. It's evolution."Marcus frowned. "Evolution?""The Predator doesn't consume consciousness because it needs to eat. It consumes consciousness because it believes it's
