Marcus slowly turned towards the door, his fists clenched tightly.

“Where are you going, Marcus?” Harold asked, his face pale with fear.

“To David Chen. He has some explaining to do,” Marcus said seriously.

“You don’t understand what he’s capable of,” Harold tried to reason with him. “David Chen isn’t just dangerous, he’s protected. The world bends for men like him. If you go after him, he’ll bury you.”

Isabella struggled to turn to him, “Please listen to you father, my son. You can’t face David Chen just like that. Don’t worry about him, karma will surely catch up with him,” she said weakly.

Marcus turned his head slightly, just enough to look at them, “I’m not one to be scared, mom. I’m not the same Marcus who went to prison, and as for karma, why wait when I can deliver judgment myself?” He said and stormed out, shutting the door behind him.

Alessandro stood from the hallway wall where he’d been leaning, and Dr. Martinez straightened up beside him. Both men had been waiting with q

“Welcome home, Marcus.”The voice echoed from deeper in the tunnel, smooth and taunting, with a familiarity that made Marcus’s blood chill.Valentina tensed beside him. “Who was that?”Marcus didn’t answer but he already knew. The figure stepped into the dim emergency lights, his boots clicking lightly against the steel floor. He was dressed in black armor, and strange glowing lines ran across it, pulsing like they were aliveThe man wore no mask and his face was clean-shaven, youthful, confident, and unmistakably familiar.Marcus narrowed his eyes. “Agent Kane.”The man chuckled, slow and mocking. “That’s a code name.”He tilted his head, and the glow from the walls cast sharp shadows across his face.“The name is Chen Wei. You might remember it, my uncle was Elder Chen.”Marcus froze. It hit him like a punch to the chest. Elder Chen’s nephew. The boy who was said to have died during the attack. The one Elder Chen mourned in silence for years.“You were supposed to be dead.”Chen Wei

  • Chapter 20: Rescued from the Flames

The hospital was still burning.Fire crews scrambled around the building, trying to control the chaos but Marcus didn’t see them. He saw only the black smoke rising up into the sky, the shattered windows, and the place where his mother had been moments ago.No, where she still was.He pushed forward, ignoring the cries of the people telling him to stay back. The heat burned at his skin, but he didn’t stop. The jade ring pulsed against his finger, and the sword in his hand flared to life. With one swift motion, Marcus raised the blade and sliced through the air. The fire parted like a curtain. Smoke rolled back as if the flames were afraid of touching him. Gasps echoed from the onlookers as he walked through the fire, untouched.Inside, the building was nearly unrecognizable. Ceiling panels hung loose, steel beams groaned overhead, and every surface was burnt and destroyed, but he kept going. His eyes scanned the room, every corner, and every hallway.“Mom!” he shouted, desperately cal

  • The Divine Arsenal

Marcus didn’t flinch. He looked at the sword glowing before him, then back at Alessandro. “They can come,” he said. “Let them try.”He reached out again. This time, he didn’t hesitate. The moment his hand closed around the hilt, a blinding surge of energy ran up his arm, burning through him like fire and lightning mixed into one. The vault lights flickered and the jade ring on his finger glowed so brightly it looked like it would crack. The sword accepted him. There was resistance and no test either. Just ancient power flowing into him like it had always been his.Alessandro stepped back, eyes wide. “It recognizes you,” he said quietly. “The ring too. They’re all connected. This… this was meant to happen.”Marcus held the sword loosely in one hand, but it felt weightless. It thrummed with his heartbeat, like it had become a part of him.He looked around the vault, there were rows of relics, armors, and sealed boxes with ancient markings. Something deeper called to him.“There’s more,”

  • The Romano Alliance Deepens

As Marcus left the Chen Pharmaceuticals, he went straight to the Romano mansion. The gates of the Romano estate opened before Marcus even slowed his steps. Two guards at the front entrance snapped to attention, with their heads slightly bowed. They didn’t question his presence, not after seeing what he was capable of the last time. They could feel the divine power radiating off him like heat. One of the guards pushed the doors open without a word. “Sir Alessandro is expecting you,” he said simply. Marcus nodded once and strode in. The grand halls of the Romano mansion were silent, lined with tall columns, ancient paintings, and artifacts worth more than most men would earn in a lifetime but Marcus didn’t pay attention to it. He wasn’t easily impressed by luxury. Alessandro Romano stood in the foyer waiting in a tailored navy suit, but there was tension in his gaze the second he saw Marcus. “Dio mio,” Alessandro muttered, stepping forward. “You’re covered in blood.” His eye

  • Pharmaceutical Fury

The moment David Chen’s veins lit up like silver, Marcus knew he wasn’t facing a mortal man anymore.David let out a deep, twisted growl as the drug surged through him. His muscles grew unnaturally, his skin stretching like it was trying to contain something it was never meant to hold. His eyes flashed with something inhuman, then narrowed on Marcus with violent intensity.“This,” David said, his voice distorted, “is the future.”Marcus didn’t reply. He stepped forward, and David charged towards him.The force from their collision shattered the windows behind David’s desk. The wind blew hard as glass shattered throughout the room. Marcus ducked under a punch that cracked the marble floor, then slammed his fist into David’s ribs. The sound echoed loudly, and David flew backward, crashing through a bookshelf and into the wall behind it.“You always thought you were stronger,” David hissed, coughing as he stood. “But I’m the one who built himself.”“You didn’t build anything,” Marcus sa
