“I hope not. Everyone, get inside the shuttle let's leave.” Sean said, quickly making his way to the shuttle. “I thought that mythological creatures that symbolize peace do not harm people.” Ryan said, trying to steady himself. “Not here. This valley is filled with resentment and vengeful souls. After centuries of absorbing negative energy, they're no longer sacred beasts, but monstrous beasts. Decades ago, someone wanted to pray to the Xuanwu tortoise for a miracle, and risked coming into this place. After careful study, she landed on the black tortoise peak with the choice sacrifices the tortoise was said to prefer and made her way into the main cave with her companion. However, it didn't spare any of them and their relatives could only know what happened through the secret message one of them sent using a communication crystal. It turned out that after absorbing accumulated resentful energy for generations, the sacred immortal tortoise turned to slaughter Xuanwu, a monstrous anim
Anthony's frown deepened, as he listened to the frightening roars alongside the others. “It seems that there are fearsome existences in this mountain, and they just got aroused. They probably sensed the presence of intruders. Could this be Jiang Cheng valley?” Sean muttered, his brows creased deeply as if he was in deep thoughts. Anthony nodded.“That's right, the mysterious compass notified me that we were on the northern peak of the Jiang Cheng valley. There are four mountains whose base formed this valley, and we are currently on the highest one whose name is said to be the azure dragon peak.”“Damn, we are in big trouble. We need to leave as soon as possible.” Sean said, his face turning red with horror. “What's wrong? Why are you looking so flustered over nothing? What about the valley? Do you know the kind of monsters making such terrifying noises filled with intense spiritual energy?” Anthony asked, with a frown on his face. “If this is the azure dragon peak, it means that
“Sean, what do you want to do? Look here, you can't pull a crazy stunt because of grief, you might regret it later and end up causing Lynda more pain. What if you do something stupid and she ends up returning afterwards? How is she going to live? You shouldn't consider such nonsense.” Anthony whispered hurriedly, trying to dissuade Sean from his mad thoughts. Sean suddenly chuckled and looked at Anthony. “What's going on in that mind of yours? Do you think I would commit suicide when my life could be used for a better bargain on a battlefield?” Sean asked, looking at Anthony. “I don't know about that. All I can tell you right now is that I don't like the look in your eyes. Your mind is already made up. If we don't find her, you're determined to use a silly reason to give up your life. It may not be out right suicide, but you might intentionally throw a wild and reckless bait just to die. For enemies you could have used better ways to end, you would want to destroy more of them and
Anthony groaned in pain and turned, noticing that he was lying down in a rocky area. Another groan came beside him and he turned around, seeing Sean beside him. His helmet was still covering his head, and his cloth was covered with mud.Anthony quickly jolted up, and rushed to Sean who was groaning on the rock. He removed Sean's helmet and retrieved a handkerchief from his ring. He began to slowly wipe Sean's face with tears in his eyes; his heart was aching as he watched the little trickle of blood that dripped out of his mouth.“Internal injury?” Anthony whispered and bent down to feel his breath. At that moment, he felt a liquid on his face and raised his hand to wipe it off. He realized that he was still wearing his own protective helmet and removed it.He threw it to the floor and cupped Sean's face.“Sean, brother. How are you feeling? Please wake up, don't scare me.” He whispered, caressing his face.He began to pat his face vigorously in his bid to wake him up, but Sean could
Sean quickly turned around and began to run downstairs. The people downstairs had already begun to scream and shout as they watched the monsters, trying to break the formation holding the aerial barrier. The rest quickly followed Sean down. Anthony pointed at a spot close to the tent and their space craft appeared. “Everyone get arranged in a neat file, the mother and child should enter first.” Anthony's voice boomed authoritatively, and the young mom quickly rushed forward, dragging her boy and a huge bag along. The boy ran to Anthony and he gave him a quick kiss. “If make it out alive, I will definitely come find you. What's your name?” Anthony whispered breathlessly. “My name is Jake Santibanez.” The boy's tiny voice said, just as his mom dragged him into the open space craft. “Thank you, benefactor. God bless you.” The grateful mother shouted. “Jasmine, enter. Why are you still holding on to Anna? Do you want to die here?” Anthony roared, noticing Jasmine who was stand
“Bro, I'm afraid, there's no other option. All we have to do is scan its interiors and see what it looks like. Run a few tests, and know how to handle it. Then we can use it for our own end.” Kaiser whispered, patting Anthony's arm.“Do you even know what is inside that blue egg? Watch the shells properly, once in a while, it blazes the fire streak. In there is a powerful fire phoenix from the outer galaxies. It is way more powerful than the extinct ones killed by sorcerers in the inner galaxies aeons ago. A normal baby phoenix is enough to destroy earth talk more of an old one like this.” Anthony snapped in irritation.“That's right, but I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't have a solution to keep it in check. I will bound its consciousness to mine to prevent it from misbehaving or going out of control. There's no time and we need to conclude everything Immediately.” Kaiser said impatiently.“Really? You want to bind your consciousness to a powerful fire phoenix, or whatever else hiding
“That was the piece of disaster I told you hit earth, which was going to hibernate below the seas.” The system said in excitement, making Anthony remember the mission notification he received while they were shopping for supplies. He was meant to head there after this current mission, but it turned out that Kaiser had already picked it up.“This is from the Southern Jade seas, right?” Anthony said, making Kaiser look at him in surprise.“Definitely, how did you know about it? Have you seen it before?” Kaiser asked, looking at Anthony in excitement. “No, but I received information about it. I was going to retrieve it after we are done here. But you beat me to it.” Anthony said with a wry smile.“It's nothing special, nor is it a treasure. This item serves only one purpose, and that's destruction. You can have it if you want. But after my research, it's from the outer cosmos and descended to earth to hibernate. The natural laws protecting earth didn't let it manifest, so it sank to the
“It's nothing much. She directed me to give you guys this food baskets for the people upstairs.” She whispered with a smile.Sean and Anthony simultaneously hissed.“What's wrong? If you don't want to take it up, I will. I'm so sorry.” She whispered, bowing her head.Jasmine hurried towards the stairs to take up the food basket, and Sean took it from her.“We never said we won't take it up. The way you ran to us made us think something bad had happened, not knowing you just wanted to deliver the food basket. Just go back.” Sean said, while she pouted in remorse.“I'm so sorry.” She whispered, and bowed to them once more, before limping away.Anthony sighed and tapped Sean.“Let's go, there's no time to waste.” He whispered and ran upstairs with Sean following behind him. They arrived upstairs and met Lynda shooting down monsters, while Kaiser was bent over a golden board, trying to set up something.Lynda suddenly froze and turned around. The moment she saw Anthony, she gasped in horr
“Almost four hours gone, and we have not even started the preparation of the nuclear weapons.” Anthony whispered anxiously, running around the lab to clean it up.“Calm down buddy, everything will be alright.” Sean whispered, giving Anthony a reassuring squeeze. Sean wore the woman's clothes for her as she was simply too weak to move around. Anthony soon packed up everything in the lab, save for the table the woman was lying on. He had long sterilized the casket and sent it to his special storage space. He entered the bathroom and sterilized his lab coat and other protective gears, before going on to scan his body to ensure he didn't contact anything while trying to treat the victims. Afterwards, he thoroughly washed the bathroom and had his bathe, before making his way out. Sean had already pushed the table out to the common area where others were staying. The moment Anthony walked out after dressing up in his clean leather warrior's gear, with daggers and weapons attached to it, Se

Have you read chapter 178? I can't stop crying. What will you do when you realize that the person you just killed on the battlefield is none other than your brother who went missing years ago? This is so heartbreaking.

I was saying the book slowed down till I got to chapter 76&77. I cried.... Oh God. Even though Jasper, Fox, and Steve were just minor characters who appeared in just a few scenes before dying, you can call them villains even, but they touched my heart the most. I feel so sorry for them....
