Chapter 1. The Battle Final

Atop the highest hill that almost no one managed to reach, a man tightly gripped a chain of blue flames. His breathing is irregular. A pair of eyes looked sharp and straight at a huge creature a few meters in front of him.

There are only a few steps left. That man, Emanuell Lucius, would finally get to his peak.

Round after round.

Level after level.

Years of living in the goddamn game that Lucius had no idea where he was. Lucius didn't know what form the god who was in control of all these games would take.

The god who created all the chaos that humans had to endure in the end. Is he really a real god, or… someone with great power who thinks of himself as a god?

Lucius didn't care about that question anymore. The most important thing now for him was how to make this huge creature, which was now looking at him viciously, die.

Lucius had sworn he would finish the last round today even though his body felt like it was being torn apart.

'KRRRR...'

The large creature whose entire body was filled with hair that covered its eyes began to move, walking sideways very slowly. His eyes never left Lucius.

Lucius left hand silently swung from the left side, bottom up. A system blue screen appeared in front of Lucius' face, displaying a box of information.

Lucius read the information about monsters seriously.

After reading that information made Lucius frown as well as curve a sly smile. Weaknesses that are difficult to identify?

'KRRRR...'

The monster growled again. His teeth were showing as if ready to pounce and tear Lucius' body.

"What's your weakness that's hard for the system to identify?" asked Lucius, walking slowly sideways to the right.

Lucius and the monster stepped sideways, like in a circle. The gazes of the two could not be separated from one another.

"For so many years no one could break you," Lucius muttered again.

As the monster clawed at the ground, sharpening its nails, Lucius's grip on the blue flame chain tightened. Lucius braced himself realizing that the monster in front of him was now preparing to attack.

"Hey, you targeting me?" This time Lucius' voice was loud, asking the monster.

In response to Lucius' question, the monster growled even more. Lucius could hear the sound of sharp fingernails sticking out of hands.

'Based on the previous battles with monsters, if a weakness is hard to identify, it doesn't mean this monster doesn't have one...'

For a few moments Lucius paid attention to the monster's body in great detail. Detect and guess the possibility of body parts that become weaknesses.

'...monsters seem to have a weak point that no one would suspect, a very hidden weak point...'

'KRUAARRR!'

Lucius spontaneously jumped to the side while swinging the hand holding the chain. The monster suddenly lunged at Lucius and was about to swing its claws.

TRAAANG.

The sound of the chain of fire that Lucius gripped was heard as it hit the ground. When the monster had just landed after jumping forward, Lucius immediately ran quickly to swing his chain of fire at the monster's body.

'KRRUAARRR!'

The monster's long roar came out as Lucius's chain of fire hit its body. Lucius had just landed and had yet to dodge, but the monster was swinging its tail which resembled a scorpion's tail.

DUGGGH.

PRAANGGG.

Lucius' body was blown away and the sound of chains hitting the ground was once again heard. Lucius almost lost his balance. It was about to straighten up, but immediately glared in surprise when the monster again swung its tail from the left.

Lucius spontaneously swung the flame chain in his hand to block the tail's attack. Luckily the monster's tail didn't succeed in repelling its body like before.

'The power is so strong,' Lucius thought as he looked at the monster who groaned in pain after being hit by his chain of fire.

The monster glared at Lucius. It was at that moment, Lucius secretly activated the skill to read the enemy's movements.

A system blue screen flashed in front of Lucius' face. After the skill activation process is successful, several circular dots appear on the blue screen of the Lucius system which move to follow the movements of the monsters.

Lucius immediately got into a ready stance while moving sideways. Lucius's system screen gave a warning that monsters would attack from the right.

'KRRUAARRR!'

The monster immediately ran and pounced on Lucius from the right. But Lucius' movement was quicker to dodge.

When his feet landed, Lucius' gaze focused on the trunk of a large tree. An idea suddenly flashed in his head. Lucius looked at the monsters, paying attention to the system's detection of the monsters' movements.

'KRRRRAAAA!'

Lucius made a zigzag jump while spinning and swinging the chain. The monster tried to pounce on him repeatedly from all directions. But the monster didn't realize that Lucius' body was spinning around binding his feet with chains of fire.

Lucius paused. Only one more step to the tree trunk there.

'If indeed this monster's weak point is hidden, it's not impossible that its weak point is in ...'

'RAURRRRR!'

The monster let out a long groan like a wolf's roar after its body couldn't move. Lucius' chains of fire had already locked his four legs. The monster's body was already erect and could not move.

Lucius smiled crookedly. He only needed to slide into the gap under the monster's body, tie one more loop of the chain, then Lucius would head for the large tree trunk.

'....in the area under his body!' Lucius continued to say to himself after a pause.

Lucius tightly gripped the chain in his hand, then slid into the gap beneath the monster. In the middle of skating, Lucius activated the skill again.

Lucius raised one palm, focusing his mind.

When Lucius had managed to do one last twist of binding on the monster's leg, Lucius stood up. The palm of his left hand touched the chain of fire, channeling the Fire Dragon skill to create hotter and bigger flames.

'I only have two hours left. It's impossible if I try to find one by one the weak point of this monster,' Lucius thought during the process of channeling the fire to the chain.

'KRRAAAA!'

As the flames traveled up the chains, the monster groaned from the heat.

'The only way for me to find his weak point is....'

Lucius grimaced as he tightly gripped the chain to keep the monster's body upright. The palm of his right hand was already turning red. He watched the chain fire that was blazing bigger and bigger had touched the four legs of this monster.

'...burn this monster and hang it over the edge of the hill cliff!'

'KRRRUUAAAAA!'

To Lucius' surprise, the monster suddenly stretched. In just one jolt, all of his legs that were tightly bound by chains were released.

Lucius' body was pushed back a few steps. He was shocked, looked in disbelief at what he was seeing now.

The longer the monster's body grows, rises, its hair slowly closes tightly to the body. The monster closed its eyes for a few moments.

Lucius's breath hitched. He paused and watched what the monster was about to do.

While the system starts to sound a warning sign.

Lucius realized nothing. Everything happened so fast.

When the hairs on the monster's body suddenly bloomed and gave out all the black sleeping butterflies;

When it was too late for Lucius to activate the self-defense skill upgrade;

When the sleeping powder from the black butterfly that fluttered like a bat was scattered;

As Lucius's consciousness slowly diminished in seconds;

When the monster swung its tail which had spit out sharp and thick thorns;

The moment Lucius' body, who was on the verge of consciousness, was pierced by the spikes on the monster's tail.

Blood spurted from Lucius' mouth. The creature's tail spikes pierced its flesh. Lucius couldn't move at all, tensed up.

Then in a position still impaled by thick thorns, Lucius' body was lifted and swung by the monster's tail. It was smashed repeatedly into the ground.

Lucius's vision blurred as a tremendous headache hit his head. The last thing Lucius remembered as he lost consciousness was a black butterfly of the largest size flying towards his face.

Lucius was not mistaken. At the bottom near the buttocks of the butterfly, there is a heart and small hearts. Also, two wide eyes stared at the process of Lucius' death.

As if saying goodbye, and laughing at the failure of Lucius' fight.

Lucius grinned in his last breath reading the inscription on the system's blue screen box cryptically.

"Shit. I'm going to die…" Lucius muttered, feeling his body begin to lose touch. "Why did you ... offer that?"

Damn it. Lucius didn't know which one to choose. He doesn't understand why this system even offers a choice when he is on the verge of life.

And so, as his body went limp, Lucius randomly pressed on an item.
