‘I woke up while hearing several notifications in my mind. Then I remembered that James lied to me … Wait! Did not I feel a pain in my chest and where am I? Did I die and get isekaied? Let me move my body and see this new environment. Wait... Waitttttttttt! I cannot move!!! But I can still see the game log. Let me check it to see what happened.’ I thought

  A few moments of shock later

While I was thinking ‘I am an NPC? Now that I think about it, I've only ever seen Adventure NPCs and Important Quest Related NPCs move while those with normal Quests stay in one place all the time. Could it be I am one such NPC?!! I was shouting in my head and cursing The AI that made me an NPC’ , Somebody came near me and asked “Do you have any quests for me”

Before I realized it, I spoke “I lost my stick can you find it for me? “I was ecstatic to release I could speak but also sad since I could not control what I said. The Man nodded and also muttered, “This better have a good reward or else...”I felt a chill up my spine and knew something bad was going to happen.

A few minutes later

 I saw that man return to a somewhat battered state compared to before. The man came and said, “I could not find the stick, can you give me the reward anyway”. Then I again spoke, “I lost my stick can you find it for me. “I noticed the man’s face change into an angry face after hearing me repeat the same thing. ‘I had seen that face several times, the face that means “One of us is going to die today” ’ I was thinking while he frowned while trying to put on a smiling face and said “I could not find the stick, can you give me the reward anyway.” But still I again spoke, “I lost my stick can you find it for me. “Now he was enraged and started attacking me and the worst thing was I could not move my body for self-defense.

The man threw me and started trampling me, I saw my HP decrease at a rapid rate. ‘What kind of stats do I have, even a rabbit’s HP would not decrease so much by a beginner’ I thought. Then my HP reached zero and I died for the second time today.

I felt I was floating in a boundless space of void

[Ding… System initializing….Host Selected. Would you like to be the host?]

“Is this that AI Rachel again?”

[Wrong. The System is not Rachel.The System does not have a name]

“Which human would make an AI without a name?”

[Wrong. No mere mortal can make me and only the host can select a name for me]

“What! How were you made then?”

[You do not have the authority/privilege to get the answers. If you decide to become the host you will be revived with a chance to get your physical body]

“There is only 1 choice left for me and this is it. I accept to become your host.”

[Ding… System successfully branded to host’s soul. Please select a name for System.]

“Alright, since you’re helping me change my fate by giving me a new beginning. You’ll be called Kronos.”

That was the name of The Greek God of beginning, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and ending, and the one who will now change my fate.

[Ding… Successful. The System will be called Kronos]

I felt that the voice suddenly had a transformation and I could no longer identify it as the same voice as before.
