Morning arrived.

In one of the castle’s chambers, Reina slowly pushed the door open, ready to begin her daily routine of cleaning the young prince’s room. But as soon as she stepped inside, a deep sigh escaped her lips.

Prince Victor was sprawled on the floor, surrounded by chaos… notes, tools, scraps of parchment, and half-finished sketches scattered all around him.

Shaking her head slowly, Reina closed the door with a soft click while murmuring,

“Again… he’s always like this…” as she rubbed her temple with a tired hand.

She walked closer and knelt before him, gently patting his shoulder.

“Prince, don’t sleep on the floor. Come on, get up, move to the bed.”

Victor stirred at the sound of her voice, his eyes slowly opening. The morning sunlight pierced through the window, making him squint.

“Morning… haaa…” he muttered, yawning as he stretched slightly.

But the moment he turned and saw his unfinished project, his drowsiness vanished instantly.

“Oh no, I forgot to finish this!” he exclaimed in panic, immediately sitting up and grabbing his tools, his fingers moving quickly with urgency.

But before he could go any further, Reina swiftly caught his hand.

“Prince, at least change your clothes first.”

Victor looked down at his clothes and muttered,

“Not too dirty… just need to take a bath…” in a lazy voice.

Hearing that half-hearted excuse, Reina’s expression changed. She stood up slowly, smiling sweetly, but there was an undeniable threatening aura around her.

“Oh? So the Prince wants to bathe, huh?”

Victor froze instantly, his eyes widening.

Before he could say anything, Reina was already walking toward the door.

“Wait—”

Click.

She was gone.

Two hours later, after being cleaned and changed into fresh clothes, Victor finally returned to his project.

Meanwhile, Reina was busy tidying up the room, cleaning the mess Victor had left behind. While moving some boxes, her eyes fell on a white apple sitting quietly on the table.

Reina froze, her brows furrowing.

“…The forbidden fruit, huh?” she murmured.

“Prince, where did you get this? There’s even a spatial pouch too…”

Victor stopped scribbling. His head snapped toward her.

“You… don’t know?”

Reina shook her head slowly.

“No… There was no order from His Majesty the King.”

Then her eyes narrowed at Victor.

“So, Prince… who is she? A woman, right? I can still smell the lingering perfume.”

The question made Victor’s hair stand on end. He quickly averted his gaze and replied awkwardly,

“I… don’t… know. She just said that fruit was the answer. You know, that request of mine, right?”

Reina crossed her arms, her fingers tapping lightly against her arm.

“She even knows about the forbidden fruit… Doesn’t feel like an assassin.”

Victor snorted.

“Oh, come on. If she was an assassin, I’d be dead already.”

Reina’s gaze sharpened.

“True… But then, who is she really?”

Victor squirmed uncomfortably.

“She said… she’s a Witch.”

Reina’s brows furrowed.

“A Witch? And you just believe that?”

Victor nodded slightly.

“She said she only had a task—to deliver something I needed.”

“So, she just suddenly appeared in the room, gave you an apple and a Spartial pouch, then left?” Reina asked, clearly unconvinced.

Victor hesitated for a moment.

“…Actually, just the apple.” He scratched his cheek, avoiding Reina’s gaze.

Reina’s expression stayed flat.

“And then?”

Victor sighed.

“The Spartial pouch and all its contents… she called it an investment.”

Reina didn’t ask further and simply said,

“What else did she say?”

“She told me to cut the apple into 24 pieces and eat one every week. She said… her friend was the one who told her that…” Victor muttered, sounding resigned as he gazed out the window.

“I see…” Reina murmured. Without another word, she picked up the apple and gently placed it on a plate.

Then,

Sret. Sret. Sret.

In the blink of an eye, the apple was already cut into 24 perfectly neat slices, elegantly arranged on the plate.

Victor turned his head, at the same time, staring at the result.

A drop of cold sweat rolled down his temple. He gulped.

“Fast… and so smooth…”

Reina, holding one slice at her fingertip, smiled mischievously.

“So, My Prince… aahhh~” she teased, holding the piece out toward Victor’s mouth.

Still shocked by her speed and precision earlier, Victor unconsciously opened his mouth and ate it right away.

As Victor chewed, the sweet and slightly sour taste spread across his tongue. Finally, Victor asked,

“Then… what about the other 23 pieces?”

“Just store them in the spatial pouch,” Reina answered casually, while resuming her cleaning.

“If I’m not mistaken, that pouch has a time-stopping function.”

“Oh… so it has that function,” Victor muttered, glancing at his spatial pouch.

And with that, Victor quietly gathered the remaining slices of apple she had cut so neatly, then stored them into the small pouch, though his mind was still not fully processing everything that had just happened.

A while later, he saw Reina continuing to clean the room as usual. Victor sighed and decided to refocus on his unfinished project. His hands got busy assembling several components onto his exo-armor, then carefully drawing magic runes across the prepared metal surface.

Two hours passed.

After feeling that all the components were properly installed and the runes perfectly inscribed, Victor stood up from his desk. Without saying much, he walked out of the room with steady steps.

Seeing his movements, Reina immediately asked, “Where are you going, Prince?” she said in a puzzled tone, still holding the cloth in her hand.

Victor only replied briefly while continuing to walk, “Training.”

Reina let out a small sigh, shaking her head, then set down the cleaning tools she was using. Without a word, she followed Victor from behind, keeping her usual distance.

At the Knights’ Training Ground:

Victor stood at the edge of the training arena, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. He nodded in satisfaction at the various equipment he had set up.

The training he wanted was vastly different from the knights’ usual methods. Thus, with firm resolve, Victor had specially ordered several tools that—to most people—looked strange and unusual.

“This is it… modern military-style training,” he muttered happily, then immediately began his training with full focus and dedication.

On the other side, the knights currently training couldn’t hold back their comments upon seeing the prince.

“Look at that… the Prince is playing,” one of them whispered with a mocking tone.

“Is that so? I think his toys look far heavier than our training…” another replied, raising his brow.

“He’s really diligent… even if it’s just in his games,” another said, shaking his head.

Reina, standing not far away, only sighed and shook her head lightly, suppressing a smile at their murmurs.

Not long after, Rhoderic, the Captain of the Royal Guards, arrived at the training arena. The moment his eyes caught sight of the training devices Victor had set up, he stopped in his tracks, stunned.

With an expression of amazement, he approached Reina. “Is it true… the Prince ordered all of this?” he asked, still staring at Victor, who was busy training.

Reina nodded slightly. “Yes… he said this is the kind of training he wanted. At first, I doubted it too, but…”

Rhoderic nodded, his eyes never leaving Victor, who was moving with determination.

“Yes… very effective. I can hardly believe the Prince organized it,” he said in awe, before smiling faintly at the disciplined and orderly training pattern.

“Can we also apply this to the adults…?” Rhoderic asked, glancing at the knights who were now looking toward Victor’s training with growing interest.

“Looks like some of them are starting to realize the effectiveness of that training,” he added confidently.

Reina shifted her gaze, carefully observing the entire training ground before answering in a serious tone,

“Impossible.”

Rhoderic frowned in confusion. “Why?”

Reina sighed.

“The field is too small. If you want to adapt that training method for the knights, you’ll need another location—maybe an additional field or even building a new training complex.”

She glanced at the knights still busy with their traditional sword training.

Rhoderic then turned back toward the field, his eyes stopping on the structures Victor had built. “You’re right…” he murmured softly.

“In that case, I suppose I’ll have to wait for the King’s or Queen’s approval to build a new place,” he said with resignation, letting out a deep breath.

Reina only nodded, her eyes remaining fixed on Victor, who was still training with unwavering diligence and spirit.
