Lucien entered the backyard of the Chao company again, where he started dyeing fabric with the purple formula. Leveraging his modern knowledge, he added a key ingredient that would surpass the Zang family's production.

Meanwhile, the Zang family had already finished producing their fabric and were showcasing it to the officials and judges who had arrived. "Look at this beautiful purple fabric," Emma Zang said, holding up their finished product. "I'm sure it will be hard for Lucien to match this quality. If at all he knew anything about dyeing."

The officials praised the Zang family's fabric. "This is indeed a beautiful piece of work. We are impressed by the quality and vibrancy of the color."

Emma smiled, confident in her family's abilities. "Thank you, officials. This fabric is a testament to our family's expertise in dyeing and fabric production."

Just then, one of the officials noticed a book in Emma's hand. "What's that you've got there?" he asked.

"This is the original formula for our golden yellow fabric," Emma replied. "It's been in our family for generations."

The officials took the book and began to flip through its pages. After verifying the formula, they became convinced that Lucien had stolen it from the Zang family.

"It seems clear that Lucien stole the formula from the Zang family," one of the officials said. "Let's go confront him."

They sent their men to confront Lucien, but before they could reach him, Lucien emerged with his fabric. "Behold my fabric, which will amaze everyone," he said, revealing a purple fabric that stunned the crowd with its brightness.

The room fell silent as everyone was shocked at the vibrancy of the purple color. The officials and the Zang family were stunned, wondering how Lucien, who was perceived as intellectually incapable, could produce such a vibrant color.

"How did you...?" Emma stammered, her eyes wide with shock. "This is impossible!" She wondered how Lucien, who was just a trash son-In-Law incapable of anything, came to know so much about dying.

Lucien smiled, confident in his abilities. "I assure you, I have done nothing but apply my knowledge and skills to produce this fabric. Dear officials, I have one more thing to show you."

Lucien went to his bag again and brought out another fabric—a rainbow fabric with multiple colors that were impossible to produce in this world, colors that they have never seen before or could imagine exists.

The room erupted in gasps and whispers as everyone's brain was blown out in awe.

"What...what is this?" one of the officials stammered. "How did you produce such a fabric?"

Lucien smiled, satisfied with the reaction. "As I said, I have my ways. And I believe this proves my innocence and my capabilities."

The officials looked at each other, unsure of what to say next. The Zang family's fabric, which had seemed impressive just moments before, now paled in comparison to Lucien's creations.

They stood before Lucien, their faces unreadable. Leading them was Mister Logan Bowling, a man Lucien knew well.

Mister Bowling had been the princess's tutor, and Lucien had heard that he had hoped to win the heart of Princess Jasmine Yuan while teaching her. However, when his tutoring days ended, Jasmine had shown no interest in him, leaving him heartbroken.

Lucien also had a grudge against him, because during his tutoring days, he was out with princess Jasmine hunting, while lucien was out picking wild fruits.

Suddenly, Mr Logan Bowling's arrow hit Lucien on his shoulder. When he noticed this, he asked princess Jasmine not to worry, because it was just an intellectually disabled trash, but princess Jasmine had a kind heart.

He ordered the royal doctor to see to Lucien's injuries, and she personally visited him.

Lucien bowed his head slightly, his voice respectful. "Please, respectable officials, do me justice. The two thousand gold coins in exchange for the formula were mine before it was apprehended from me. Please help me get it back. My family's life depends on this."

Mister Bowling looked at Lucien for a long moment without saying a word. Then, without any explanation, he turned and left, leaving Lucien feeling devastated.

Lucien's eyes narrowed as he watched Mister Bowling disappear from view. A spark of determination ignited within him.

"Fine," he thought to himself. "Since he doesn't want to help me, I'll make sure I take Jasmine from you. I'll make sure I become the highest competitor you've ever seen." A fierce resolve formed in Lucien's heart.

Lucien left the premises, devastated, with Xander still following closely behind him. As he walked, he couldn't shake off the weight of his thoughts.

He still owed Xander a thousand gold coins, and he was worried about what would happen if he couldn't pay.

Just as he was lost in thought, he noticed a carriage waiting nearby. Inside, he saw Emma Zhang, her face painted with a forced smile. "I know things didn't end well for us, Lucien," she said, her voice filled with persuasion. "But now's your chance to come back. We'll increase your wages to ten gold coins a month, give you your own personal dyeing space with sophisticated machines... You can become the greatest fabric maker in history.

Just come back to us, give us the formula for the rainbow fabric dyeing, and we'll be together again. Don't you love me? I can still marry you."

Lucien's response was a bitter laugh. "Oh, so because you've discovered I can make a rainbow dyeing fabric, you suddenly want me back? I can see through your schemes, Emma. When you get what you want, you'll just toss me again like trash. That's what you do."

Emma's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. "Remember, you owe Xander a thousand coins. You'd better start paying back that amount before nightfall," she said, her voice laced with a subtle threat.

Lucien's eyes widened in shock. "Wait, how do you know about that?" he asked, but Emma just ordered the carriage to move on. As it departed, she shouted out one final warning: "Remember, if you can't pay a thousand gold coins, you know what will happen to your family!"

Lucien stood there, feeling like the weight of the world had been dropped on his shoulders.

He was trapped, with no clear way out. Even if he managed to pay Xander the thousand gold coins, he knew he'd still be in danger. The Iron Fist Guild or the Zhang family would continue to hold his family hostage until he gave in and shared the formula for the golden dye.

Lucien's mind was a whirlwind of confusion and desperation, unsure of what to do next.

As he stood there, deep in thought, the sound of horse hooves echoed through the air, growing louder with each passing moment.

A crowd's murmurs turned into shouts, and Lucien's gaze shifted toward the commotion. His eyes widened in excitement as he spotted the carriage led by none other than Princess Jasmine Yuan.

A plan began to form in Lucien's mind. "My future wife," he thought to himself, "you saved me before; please save me once again, and my family. Take me home."

With calculated precision, Lucien stepped into the path of Princess Jasmine Yuan’s horse. The horse's hooves brushed past him, sending him tumbling to the ground. Blood trickled from his mouth as he lay there, motionless.

Xanders's eyes widened in shock at the sudden turn of events. “Has this fool willingly accepted his fate and chosen to die without paying the debt? No, I need the formula from him, first.” He thought to himself.

Princess Jasmine Yuan immediately reined in her horse and dismounted, rushing to Lucien's side. When her eyes landed on Lucien, "what a handsome man," she thought to herself, "and he looks so familiar."

She bent down, her fingers gently touching the side of Lucien's nose to check his breathing. Relieved to find him still alive, Princess Jasmine Yuan ordered her men to take him back to the palace for treatment.

Lucien, still pretending to be unconscious, smiled inwardly. "This is my chance to change my history," he thought. "Don't lose it. Whether saving the Feng family, eliminating the Zhang family, and other enemies, or enjoying a luxurious life with my future wife... It all depends on my performance from now on. Don't dare lose it."

As the princess's men carefully lifted Lucien into the carriage, Lucien's mind was already racing with possibilities. The carriage headed toward the palace of the Sun Kingdom, located in the Mystical Turtle City, miles away from the Mystical Dragon City.

The grandest mansion in the kingdom and one of the top three in the empire awaited, and Lucien's fate hung precariously in the balance.
