Walking out of the huge compound dejectedly, William stopped and looked towards one of the windows upstairs, then his eyes met those of Catherine, who was also looking down at him through the window of her room.

"Sire, where to next?" Bruce asked.

Bruce's voice brought him out of his occupied thoughts.

William sighed before taking his eyes off the window; Catherine wasn't longer there.

He stood briefly there before he was able to think of what next. "Let's move out of this area first before anything else."

William and Bruce crossed over to the other side of the road before finding their way out of that area.

"Now, let's find a hostel to lodge in for today before making proper arrangements for everything," William said to Bruce, who stood behind him vigilantly.

Bruce nodded in agreement without saying a word before stepping forward to the roadside, waving his hand out to the taxis that were driving past, trying to stop one, but none stopped.

Any taxi that stops will immediately continue to drive away the moment they see the two; they assumed they were poor and wouldn't be able to afford the fare.

If the taxi drivers got to know that these two were top respectful fellows in the secret 'Supreme Military Corps' they would immediately rush to get them into their cars without any charges.

After 5 minutes of trying to stop a vehicle, Bruce was able to stop one that was about to drive past.

The taxi drove close to them.

William and Bruce hopped into the taxi.

"Where to?" The cabman asked without paying much attention to the two that just entered his vehicle; in his opinion, they weren't better off than any ordinary commoners with the type of poor dresses they were putting on.

Bruce didn't mind the attitude of the driver: "Drive us to the best hotel in town."

The driver, who was about to continue with the journey, couldn't help but halt; his face twisted in disbelief when he heard the reply from Bruce.

"W-What?" The cabman took a clear view of the two, who were sitting comfortably at the back, through the rearview mirror of his car.

Hearing the dumb question of the cabman, Bruce felt irritated by his words, "Gosh, what kind of dumb question is that? F*cking take us to the best hotel in town, or is that hard for you?" Bruce answered in a harsh tone, becoming pissed.

Confirming that he heard well, the cabman turned back, coldly gazing at the two. "Holy sh*t, what do you two take me as? Someone that you can toy with, get the heck out of my car." The cabman, who had already lost his cool, yelled at them. "Hahaha. You two, best hotel," with a smirk on his face.

Bruce felt like punching the cabman's face was holding down the urge. "Are you....."

William raised his hand, signalling for Bruce to keep quiet.

"Young man, do we look like unserious people? Are you in for business or not?" William responded with a smile on his face. He had more experience with these things, especially back then when he was humiliated regularly, so he knows how to handle this kind of problem with ease.

The cab driver stared at William's face for a few seconds before returning his focus to his wheel.

"Maybe they are mere workers in the hotel, but that isn't it; if not, they will have directly told me the name of the hotel, but... well, let's see how it goes." The cab driver mumbled under his breath before driving off.

..........

Catherine was inside her room, lying down on her bed deep in thought while also staring at the faces of her two kids, who were sleeping soundly by her side.

She was deeply lost in her thoughts as different things about the past were running through her like a fast moving train that had no direction.

Her eyes were filled with emotions, but she was trying her best to hide and lock those emotions in her heart to prevent them from displaying themselves. It was obvious that her heart was troubled by William, but she didn't want those memories to haunt her.

"I can't allow my emotions to get the better part of me." She whispered silently to herself as she slowly closed her eyes, paving the way for sleep to take over.

RING! RING! RING!

Just then, from her phone, soft and slow-motion music started to automatically play as the phone began to ring.

"Ahhhhh, who is calling? Why now?" She immediately opened her eyes as she bitterly complained in a low voice.

She swiftly got out of bed and grabbed hold of the phone that was on the table beside the bed.

When she saw the caller, she stamped her feet angrily on the floor. "Why is this old bone calling? Hope isn't what I am thinking?" Her face squeezed in confusion as she hesitated whether to pick up the call or not.

Unwillingly, she picked up the call as she placed the phone in her ear to listen.

"Hello Catherine, there is a meeting with Hidalgo's family in the next thirty minutes, and you're assigned to that task." A feminine voice was heard, and the person spoke in a commanding tone without caring for her opinion.

Hearing the lady's voice, Catherine's face darkened. "But grandma, today is my leisure; can't Bridget..."

She was interrupted by the loud voice from the phone before she completed her statement. "WHAT! Catherine, how dare you question my authority? You silly child, are you trying to go against my words?" The harsh tone of her grandmother resounded in her ears like an unpleasant sound that was attempting to destroy her eardrums.

"No, no, no. Grandma, I don't dare do such," she hurriedly answered.

"Better don't if you know what is good for you. Now, get that your lazy ass  prepared." "Better cooperate with them because it involves huge benefits, so put your best into it and make sure it's a success no matter what or else; don't blame me." She silently listened to the commanding tone of her grandmother.

"Okay, grandma," she replied, quietly grumbling within herself as she had no choice but to obey her grandmother.

"Good, the details are already forwarded to your mailbox; make sure everything is under control." That was the last word in the voice before the call ended.

"WTF!" She cursed. "That annoying old bone always hits me hard."

Her grandmother was the one with the greatest authority in the family and could make any decision, whether she was in the wrong or right; she didn't care a bit. No one in the family dares go against her words except the person who wants to face her wrath.

She opened her phone and directly scrolled to her mailbox, where she saw the message.

Catherine stared at the details on the mailbox, a mix of frustration and resignation settling within her. She couldn't shake off the weight of obligation imposed by her grandmother's authoritative demeanor.

**Subject: Meeting with the Hidalgo's family—the young heir**

**Catherine You'll be meeting with Thomas, the young heir of the esteemed Hidalgo family, for business cooperation. The meeting is scheduled for today at 3 p.m. and will take place at the Luxe Fernandez Hotel. **

Make sure everything is under your control.

With a heavy sigh of frustration. "DAMNIT! Why does it have to be that shameless brat that is representing Hidalgo's  family?" "Why is she always giving me these tasks? Why not Bridget?" She complained bitterly as she froze, looking at the message.

Her grandmother and mother had become colder to her since she chose William over all those wealthy suitors that do come to seek her hand in marriage, which is why they always troubled her.

She forced herself to focus on the task at hand, making a mental checklist of everything that needed to be done. She had to ensure that the meeting went smoothly, as it was important for maintaining the business relationship between her family and the Hidalgos.

Catherine knew that she couldn't disobey her grandmother, especially when it involved the family's business. She wouldn't dare miss this assigned meeting, so she decided to get ready early for the meeting.

Glancing at her lovely sleeping children on the bed, she smiled before keeping her phone back on the table.

She hurriedly got dressed within a few minutes.

Catherine stood at the side of the bed, looking down at the faces of the two little cuties that were sleeping, holding each other as if they were never going to let go of themselves.

She didn't regret having these wonderful twins, Aiden and Ava. It was a blessing to her that she adorned so much.

"Momma will be back." With a big smile on her face, Catherine bent down and placed a light kiss on their forehead.

She took one of her car keys before waking up in the room.

"Take care of Aiden and Ava when they are awake," Catherine calmly said to her personal maid, who was standing near her room.

"Ok, ma'am," the maid replied with her head lowered in respect.

With that, Catherine walked out of the big mansion without bothering to tell her mom where she was heading as she hopped into her car before driving off.

Well done." Every word was spoken clearly as he enjoyed the t
