Mateo stared at Tyson in disbelief, not just because of the request itself, but because of the calm tone in which it was delivered. His expression shifted, the anger he had been holding back could no longer be contained and turned into a burning rage.

“What did you just say?” he asked quietly, his voice hoarse from trying to suppress his fury. He was attempting to stay composed, but his tone was still tight, like a spring ready to snap.

Tyson didn’t raise his voice, he simply met his father’s eyes, as if he had already made up his mind about something that needed no further explanation.

“I want the same position as Martin.”

The words came out without any excess emotion, and that was precisely what made them all the more infuriating to Mateo and Martin.

Silence fell like a heavy fog. Even the ticking of the wall clock sounded intrusive. The servants standing at the edges of the room held their breath, their backs stiff with tension as they watched the sudden clash unfold.

Martin turned

Anna froze the moment she heard that mockingly familiar voice. She turned slowly, her gaze landing on a face that made her want to sigh in exasperation.Renee.Complete with her trademark half-smirk, more disgusting than the bright red lipstick coating her lips. Her hair was teased high, earrings swinging like little bells, and behind her stood three other girls, two Anna recognized as Melanie’s loyal followers, and one new face whose expression screamed I’ll join the drama as long as I’m not the target.“Long time no see, Anna,” Renee cooed sweetly, her tone dripping with subtle venom.Anna raised a brow, her lips curving into a faint smile.“Unfortunately, not long enough.”Renee’s smile faltered for a moment but quickly recovered.“Melanie wants to talk. Come with us to the second floor, she’s reserved a private room.”Her tone sounded like an order dressed up in false politeness.Anna glanced toward the spiral staircase leading up to the balcony. From there, she caught a glimpse o

Both of them froze for a fraction of a second, perhaps simply not expecting Scarlett to throw such a question at them.Tyson remained composed, though the faint line between his brows deepened slightly, subtle enough to miss unless one looked closely. Anna, on the other hand, far easier to read, failed to hide her surprise.Still, the air between them spoke louder than words, silently conveying a firm “no.”The table fell quiet for a brief moment.Scarlett looked between them and let out a small chuckle, just enough to break the silence.“Oh, don’t take it so seriously,” she said with a teasing smile, not one meant to provoke. “I was only joking.”Tyson merely responded with a low hum, almost reflexive, while Anna let out a polite laugh, more out of courtesy than amusement. After that, the conversation began to flow again, light and unimportant. They talked about the restaurant’s signature dishes, then drifted toward safer topics like a new art exhibition, a recently opened local busi

The waiter was still bowing politely when Anna glanced toward several empty tables inside the restaurant. Her eyes narrowed slightly, not out of anger, but to make sure.“Those tables,” she said calmly, though her tone carried a quiet firmness, “are they already reserved?”The waiter stiffened a little before replying with professional composure, “Yes, Miss. They’ve been booked in advance.”Anna pulled something from her small wallet, a thin black card with the restaurant’s logo faintly engraved on its surface. She set it on the reception desk, her movement unhurried yet deliberate.“I’m a regular here,” she said, her voice even. “As far as I know, reservations are only valid if the guests arrive within ten minutes, correct?”The waiter swallowed hard, visibly uneasy. “That’s correct, Miss. But… tonight, those tables were booked well in advance by priority guests.”Anna stared at the waiter for a few seconds longer before letting out a quiet sigh. It seemed there was no point insisti

Tyson walked quickly, passing rows of shops without really seeing where his feet were taking him, his eyes were searching for one figure: the man who had bumped into him earlier. The floor was crowded, filled with people carrying shopping bags, children’s laughter blending with the soft music from the mall speakers.Within seconds, the shadow disappeared. No sign remained of a man in a pale blue shirt moving in a hurry. Tyson stopped at the end of the corridor, his sharp gaze sweeping the area, but all he saw was ordinary bustle. He clenched his fist, fighting the urge to call the system and order it to track. Logic held him back just in time.He took a deep breath, catching his reflection on the glass wall of a nearby store. If I suddenly show up and confront him, then what? he thought. What am I supposed to say? I can’t explain how I know. His hand lifted slightly, then dropped again. No. He couldn’t act recklessly. That man was clearly no ordinary person, and without a valid reason

They decided not to get involved in the commotion in the parking area. Tyson only glanced once before turning away and heading toward the mall entrance, while Anna followed behind, casting one last look at the crowd still buzzing with noise. As soon as they stepped inside the massive building, the cool air from the air conditioning washed over them. The polished floors reflected the bright lights from high-end shop windows, and the soft hum of background music blended with the chatter of visitors coming and going.Anna immediately turned toward the escalator, her steps brisk and confident.“I know a good place,” she said with assurance. “It’s my go-to store. They carry imported suits, perfect cuts, excellent quality.”Tyson looked at the sign above the store Anna was pointing to. Its name gleamed in elegant letters, with a mannequin in a gray suit that screamed luxury. He stopped a few steps behind her.“Not there,” he said quietly, but with enough firmness to make Anna turn.“Huh? Wh

Anna stared at Tyson for a long time, her eyes narrowing in confusion. She could see a calmness that was too calm, and a confidence that felt too certain written all over his expression. Sometimes, Anna felt like Tyson was someone who already knew how the game would end before anyone else even realized it had begun. And honestly, that was terrifying.“Sometimes I think you’re a little too confident,” she muttered at last, more to herself than to him.Tyson didn’t respond. He simply looked back at her with an almost blank expression. There was a faint smile on his lips, but it wasn’t a friendly one. It was the kind of smile that belonged to someone quietly enjoying something only he could understand.Anna exhaled deeply, her gaze dropping to the phone screen still filled with news about Tyson. The longer she looked, the stranger it felt. She remembered clearly how hard it had been to find any information about him after their first meeting. Every record was gone, no public data, no tr
