Surprise!

"Where am I?!" Richard exclaimed, his voice echoing in the unfamiliar surroundings.

Never had Richard anticipated that when the darkness lifted, he would find himself in such an unfamiliar place.

The most surprising aspect was waking up in a white room exuding luxury and wealth.

"Could I possibly be dead?" he pondered silently, noting the opulence of the room seemed incongruous with his own existence.

Before he could thoroughly explore the room, a voice interrupted his thoughts. "Young master is awake already!"

Stunned, Richard turned towards the source to find the black-clad men from before. "Who... who are you?"

Encountering them once on the street and now here seemed too much to be mere coincidence.

The men in black exchanged glances, murmuring amongst themselves. "What a relief..."

Interrupting their hushed conversation, Richard demanded, "What is happening?"

"Rest, young master," they responded in unison.

Richard felt a surge of frustration. "Tell me who you are first!" he insisted, thinking they had mistaken him for somebody else.

The repeated address of "young master" felt suffocating, leading him to wonder if they had mistaken him for someone else.

The men in black hung their heads in embarrassment, one stepping forward to speak.

"We are from the Denxon family."

Exasperated, Richard sighed deeply. First, there was the issue of Chloe's betrayal, and now, another unexpected drama unfolding before him.

With a furrowed brow, he inquired, "Why am I here? I would like to leave immediately!" Uncertain of how he arrived here, he was certain these men held the reason to his presence.

Leaving seemed the only way to clear his frustrated mind.

Despite Richard's annoyance, the black-clad men remained composed, almost as if expecting his reaction.

"Please, wait!"

Frustration mounting, Richard couldn't tolerate their persistent artitude. Rising from the bed, he attempted to depart.

Yet, before he could take a step, they interjected, "Check your phone!"

Gritting his teeth, Richard struggled to contain his exasperation. "What is your problem? Can't you see I'm already frustrated? Leave me be and spare me more troubles!" he exclaimed.

The five men fell silent, not contesting Richard's words. Observing his outburst, they finally spoke, "Young master, just check your phone once."

Richard shot them a glare. He knew it was useless arguing with them, so he turned to leave. However, at that time, he heard a chirping sound from his phone.

With a tinge of frustration, he absentmindedly retrieved his phone.

Unlocking the screen, a message immediately caught his eye. As he read its contents, his expression morphed from frustration to shock, tinged with disbelief.

"What am I seeing..." he murmured, his face contorted in disbelief.

As Richard stood, bewildered, he noticed the five men wearing black, their smiles seemingly oblivious to his astonishment.

Disregarding their smiles, Richard's attention remained fixated on the message that appeared on his phone screen.

An alert message flashed on his phone, indicating a staggering sum of 150 billion dollars!

Even if he attempted to maintain composure, his mind refused to comply. How could he possibly remain calm after seeing such an alert?

Swallowing hard against his dry throat, he turned to confront the composed men. "Did you send this?" he demanded.

He couldn't shake the suspicion that the message was somehow connected to them. After all, they had prompted him to check his phone.

The men in black exchanged glances before confirming, "Yes, we are aware of the alert."

Stunned, Richard responded quickly, "It's time to stop these foolish games and tell me what's really happening!"

Though he instinctively associated the alert with them, the enormity of the sum sent left him incredulous.

There was a brief pause before the men spoke again. "Young master, all will be explained to you in due time. Just be patient a little longer."

Richard felt an urge to scream at their words. "How could he possibly be expected to wait? His mind was ablaze with confusion and uncertainty!"

Recognizing his turmoil, the five men attempted to reassure him. "Even if we explained now, it would be incomprehensible to you. Please, endure just a little longer."

Richard fell silent, contemplating his next move. "Fine," he relented, "but how long must I wait?"

If he were to endure this waiting game, he at least deserved to know the time frame.

Upon hearing his question, the men respectfully responded, "Only about half an hour. Someone will arrive shortly."

With that, they bowed their heads and exited the room, leaving Richard all alone.

Richard paused his lips, as he returned his gaze back to the high standard room. The admiration in his towards the room couldn't be hidden.

Even though loads of doubt and questions weighed his shoulders, he brushed those thoughts aside.

Since those men on black had assured he would be getting answers to his questions soon, he decided to remain patient.

With his eyes darting around the room, he didn't notice when the room door opened.

He only snapped out from his inspection, when he heard a footstep sound, approaching.

Looking at the alert, Richard turned hurriedly.

“You're here, my boy!” An excited and long awaited voice rang.

Richard glanced at the voice owner, with his legs quivering backward. “How… no, this isn't possible!”

He shook his head vigorously, as though he wasn't believing what he'd just seen.

The voice owner smiled at Richard's disbelieving face, before pouting. “Richard, don't you miss me?”

“Grand… grandma?!* Richard ignored the question, and muttered directly.

Before him was an old noblewoman; the appearance of this old woman seems far different from the old woman in his memory.

However, even with the difference, it didn't change the fact that he knew the old woman.

The old woman nodded, “yes, it's me, your grandma.” Seeing her nod, made it obvious he really wasn't mistaken.

It really was his grandma!

Mixed emotions flushed his inward mind. Never had he expected one bit that he would be seeing his grandma.

Stunningly, the surprise on his face didn't last long with the concerned words of the old woman.

“How have you been all this while, Richard?”

Richard furrowed his brows, before saying. “Hmph! You dare to ask me about my well-being only now?”

He didn't say anything, only waiting to hear what the old woman would say.

Richard's eyes mistakenly shifted to the old woman's side. “Weapons? What's really happening? Who are these people next to her?”

The man next to the old woman seems highly professional. Their eyes were cold and distant, with guns in their hands.

Richard was surprised, but he averted his gaze immediately. He turned back to the old woman, with a more intense questioning gaze.

He couldn't help, but feel that things weren't as simple as it's.

The old woman laughed, “Richard, I'm your grandma. Forgive your Grandma for whatever might have occurred then!”
