The Return Of General Antonio

Chapter 003

Nine years ago on february 14th which was valentine day, he had invited Jennifer over to their family house when she offered to visit, and not long after that, the family business started to crumble when important documents were made public and as a result couldn't secure big contracts.

This made Jennifer a prime suspect in the data breach. He remembers his father warned him about their relationship, at a time he was in disagreement with Kingstonian business moguls.

Antonio bites his lip, he refuses to accept the possibility that Jennifer actually never loved him in the past, she just used him to get into their family business.

Now he knows Jennifer isn’t just a betrayer in their relationship but someone who has a hand in what happened eight years ago. Now he will equally deal with her.

“General, we arrive”

Antonio marched into the restaurant and it didn’t take long to locate her.

Megan.

She stood at table 5, smiling gently , with trembling hands as she served the customer. Her long brown hair was styled into a messy bun, her uniform and shoes worn out. It was obvious she was stressed out but had to keep going.

Just when Antonio was about to move closer to her, there was a resounding noise.

SLAP!

“You can’t serve a drink properly!” Arnold sneered, looking at Megan with disgust.

Arnold is the manager of the restaurant and a friend to Sylvester Mahone, as so is the reason he is using his brand name.

“I’m so sorry sir, I thought you said…”

“I always said don’t talk back!” Arnold raises his hand about to land another slap.

Antnonio in a swift move knocked it away

Arnold jaw dropped, curious on who dared to challenge him “who the hell and you?”

One of Anotonio's guards was about to make a move, as it is hard for him to see someone talking down to his General. But Antonio had instructed he will be handling his problem by himself as he doesn’t want much attention staying under the radar.

Antonio grabbed him by the collar and fling him into the wall, hard enough to shake the counters.

“You raise your hand at her ” Antonio said, voice low and cold as he picked him back up in choke hold. “that would be the last time that hand will be useful for you”

The atmosphere was tensed, customers in awe

Arnold struggled “how dare you touch me, don’t you see the signboard outside, do you know who my friend is?”

“ I know exactly who he is, and that alone makes me want to hit you more. He paused. "Now do you know who I am?”

Anold was pale and confused “hell no! because you are nobody”

“Then consider this your first and only warning”

Antonio let go, and Arnold collapsed like a pack of cards.

He turned to Meghan

She’s still struggling from the impact of the slap, her eyes wide and looking fragile.

“Antonio” she whispered

He nodded “yes it’s me”

She rolled her eyes and blinked, like she is trying to wake up from a dream. “you….you really came back”

“for a lot of reasons,” he said.” One of them is you, thanks for all you do”

Megan looked down.”I didn’t do much, just tired my best to reach out to Kate and grandma when I could”

“you did a lot, you outdone yourself, despite having it rough and facing a lot. This is so thoughtful of you, you are the best. I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner”

They held hands, smiling. Antonio was waiting for the next line of action and so it arrives

Benjamin entered the restaurant carrying a sealed black envelope with some content, he handed it to the manager who had been humbling watching from the back of the counter.

“What is this?” the manager stammered

Benjamin adjusted his collar. “official notice. The restaurant lease has been transferred, the whole building has been bought, new ownership effective immediately. now under MG corporation.

‘What? That’s impossible. This place is under license from sylvesters, you can't touch it”

“The sylvesters never own the building and they will never do”

Antonio strides towards the manager. ''Megan is the boss here now, you can go seek help from your friend. But I promise you if you dare trouble her again, you won’t live long enough to regret it.

The mall securities comes in that instant and dragged the manager out.

“you will regret this!” he yelled on top of his voice as he was dragged away.

“We will see about that” Antonio chuckled , giving Benjamin a thumbs up for a swift response to acquiring the building.

“Meghan stood there frozen, confused. “Antonio I don’t understand”

“You don’t have to”, Antonio said gently. “But just know that this and many more to come, you deserve it. You have supported me every step of the way without expecting anything in return. Now it is my turn to make you happy, I know your dream is big and I will help you achieve it. Just please be by my side Meghan“.

She stared at him, and for the first time, the vibe of old feelings stirred behind her eyes, something safe and warm, something she had hope on for years.

Benjamin's phone beeps interrupt the lovely moment. “We have information on Richard and Jennifer, they are planning to hold a grand wedding at Radisson Gardens, next month and a lot is attached to it.

Because the families invited some big personalities both home and abroad with aims to get their support towards the incoming Kingstonian tech submit where a contract of $30 billion dollars is at stake.

Antonio was shocked to discover they have been having big plans, and sees it as a perfect opportunity to land a big blow to them.

“Radisson?”

Benjamin moves towards Antonio, and whispers to make sure Meghan won’t hear so as not to freak out.

“Yes, generally, what you’re thinking is true.” He paused. “It is the biggest and most luxurious event center in whole of kingstonian, not up to thirty people can afford an event there. And it is one of the properties you acquired recently.

Antonio's face lit up in happiness, things are falling in line. “Wedding at Radisson? That will be in their dream!”.

“But before that, I need to let the sylvesters feel my presence in Kingstonian, is everything ready?”

“Yes General”
