After Edward left, Diane entered the house.

Subrina saw her daughter and squinted her eyes. “Where did you go?”

“Just to meet a friend,” Diane said and was going upstairs.

“Wait, why the hell did you record my conversation with Catherine?” Subrina asked aloud. “What were you thinking? Were you trying to use it against me later on?”

“I was recording it for fun, Mom. Don’t think too much,” Diane said.

“Tsk, you heard what Stephen’s dad said, didn’t you?” Subrina got up from the couch. “Just forget about Stephen before things get worse for us. They are gangsters. If they decide to snatch this house from us, what can we do? Even the courts and police support them. We’ll be brought to the streets.”

“I’m aware of that, and I’ll never let such a thing happen, so don’t worry,” Diane said and then went to her room.

Despite what Diane said, Subrina couldn’t trust her daughter’s words. “I can’t waste my time here. Peter Mason would be waiting for me now.”

Subrina hurriedly left the house and saw

  • CHAPTER 331

There was a lot of hatred between Hawkers and Falcon Group that only kept growing in the past, until Falcon Group quit most of their operations and dedicated themselves to auction holders and traders. Most of the young Hawkers didn’t really care about destroying Falcon Group, but the older ones still remembered the blood that was shed in the past. So, they would all be quite angry if someone were to talk good about Falcon Group, much less make promises with them. And these people were all influenced by Eilssa’s arrogance. When Golden Falcon and the Falcon Group were going strong, she trapped him in love and wasted his time and her obsession with her caused an internal war in the group, which led to reduction of the Falcon Group’s power. After Golden Falcon realized that he was completely tricked and cheated on by Elissa, he went into severe depression. And this further weakened the Falcon Group.Nowadays, many of the Hawkers looked down on the Falcon Group, considering them to be quit

  • CHAPTER 330

Denver rushed over to check on Sheryl. She had a nasty wound on her gut. If not for her defending with aura, there’d have been a big hole in her abdomen now.Or, in the worst case, her body would have been separated into two halves at the abdomen.Denver took out a red pellet and put it in her mouth. He gently electrocuted her throat so that her muscles moved, and she ended up swallowing the pill even though she wasn’t conscious.“This should help speed up her recovery…” Denver thought.Three of her limbs seemed to be broken, and there were many other bruises and cuts on her body. He hadn’t seen her like this before. He removed his shirt and put it on top of her to cover her abdominal wound.Denver was still wearing a tanktop.“I-Is she okay?” Catherine nervously arrived there. She had seen blood before, but the way Sheryl crashed down from the ceiling shocked Catherine quite a bit.She still couldn’t take that picture out of her mind.“You stay here and guard her,” Denver said and lo

  • CHAPTER 329

Sheryl sucked in a deep breath. (Doing this will reduce my overall strength all the more, but Borg could be here any second. I’ve gotta take the gamble.)Sheryl immediately rushed toward the room where Minerva is.“I don’t think so,” Gray was rushing toward her, but she felt something and turned around.Sheryl’s clone was also rushing toward the bed where Golden Falcon was.“A-A clone? When did she!” Gray calculated that it would be more dangerous if Golden Falcon were to get released, so she immediately went to the operating system and pressed a button and maxed the output.Just as Sheryl’s clone was about to kick the metal equipment away, a strong electric field burst out of the items and struck her as well.At the same time, the real Sheryl arrived at the small room where Minerva was.Seeing Sheryl, Minerva’s expression brightened a little. “Are you here to save me?”Sheryl stared at Minerva for a second. (I can feel her aura. She’s not a robot but a real person. Assuming she’s not

  • CHAPTER 328

A couple of minutes earlier. On the top floor of the facility built inside the giant turtle.Golden Falcon opened his eyes, only to find himself strapped to some metal bench. His body was pierced with metallic instruments, so even moving a millimeter hurt quite a bit.He tried to use aura, but his energy was sucked away pretty fast.“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Gray warned him as she operated the systems required to suck his spinal fluids.“Y-You are…” he looked around. “Where is this place? Where did you bring me? Where is Borg?”She pressed a button, and he was electrocuted.“We’ve tried so many times to turn the Falcons into drug addicts, but because of your presence, we failed to bring Falcon Group under our control,” Gray’s voice was full of coldness and resentment. She upped the voltage and electrocuted him once more.He coughed out blood, and his eyes turned red.“But now, after your death, what do you think will happen to Falcon Group?” Gray grinned evilly. “They will b

  • CHAPTER 327

The worm’s speed pushed Denver back, but he dug his foot fingers into the worm’s flesh and held on.It didn’t take longer than a couple of seconds to travel miles through the air.“Take a deep breath!” Denver shouted.Catherine, who was still held by Denver, immediately sucked in a deep breath. The giant worm plunged itself into the ocean. The water resistance was so much greater compared to the air resistance from before.Previously, in air, the worm traveled much faster than sound, but now it was thrice as fast.Denver managed to stand on its back as the worm went deeper into the darkness that was the ocean.Catherine felt greatly distressed as she couldn’t do a thing. (Don’t suffer. Use your ability.)She was able to reduce the pressure of water put on her and Denver.Even so, she still couldn’t see a thing around her as it was utterly dark all around.Elissa, who was standing on the worm’s head with her arms crossed, glanced over her shoulder. “I was thinking of letting them hide

  • CHAPTER 326

In Hawk Park.Philip was talking with someone through a holographic image. “I recently read a document. A man with twenty years of experience in the software field lost his job because the company thought that freshers would have better adaptive skills. Do you know what that employee who had many family commitments did after he lost his job at 48 years of age?”“Committed suicide out of shame, maybe?” the speaker on the other side, who was the prime minister of a country, said. “I mean, it’s embarrassing to take your resume and knock on companies’ doors when you’re in your thirties let alone in your late forties. Not everyone can ask their relatives or friends or acquaintances to refer them, either. So, leaving the world quietly seems like the easiest option.”“He didn’t commit suicide but started earning lower income in a different stream altogether,” Philip said, “and he’s the owner of his own small business now.”“How did he establish a business when he had many pending commitment

  • CHAPTER 325

“Heh, she’s going to cough and bleed to death,” Gray snickered. As the blue gas swiftly filled the room Sheryl was in, she waved her arm. Many fascicles of leaves flew about in the room, and the density of the gas lowered pretty fast.Gray’s eyes swelled wide open. “I-Impossible. She’s absorbing the poisonous gas with the leaves.” She quickly frowned. “What’s more, the leaves don’t seem to be changing color, which means they’re immune to poison. This is one sick ability. If she’s capable of this, what more can she do?”Borg was watching this on a projected screen. He removed his armor suit and folded his sleeves. “I will handle her, but be prepared for collateral damage.”“I will do my best to increase the defenses, Borg,” Gray was saying, but just then she received a red alert. The movement of the turtle monster changed.Gray, Borg, and Sheryl felt it without even having to read any messages.“Why is it heading to the surface?” Gray was utterly confused. “Did Green Fang do this? How

  • CHAPTER 324

From laser guns to ADE nets, Borg was able to control all of the electronic gadgets in the room. The only exception was the mobile in Sheryl’s pocket not because of Rose but because of Sheryl’s aura.“I can deal with the laser bullets, but is there any way for you to control those nets, Rose?” she queried under her breath.“No, they are not just simple electronic gadgets, and he’s securing them with nanobots,” Rose replied. “I can’t control those bots as they only receive signals from only trusted sources. Maybe, if we disguise ourselves well enough, we might succeed, but it’ll take time to crack their code.”“How much time?”“Indefinite. It could take hours or days.”“That’s not helping.” Sheryl created a bough of branches to push back all the ADE nets, but the laser bullets still destroyed her branches. She didn’t use aura in order to conserve her strength.Contrary to her approach, Borg let loose his skills. He started off with the 108 combat styles, which focused on the rabid move

  • CHAPTER 323

Sheryl didn’t wait for Borg to attack her.Rather, she attacked him first. She created a wooden sword in her left hand and a dagger in her right, both of which had been enhanced by aura. With a single leap, she closed the distance, and the sword sought to behead Borg in a quick diagonal slash.Borg moved his head to the side, but then came the dagger stabbing at his chest. Before he could move, the weapon struck him and put a dent in his armor. He still used that little bit of time and managed to jump back.“That was dangerous…” Borg’s expression changed.“Tsk,” Sheryl slightly frowned. (He calmed down instead of panicking. I guess he isn’t the Fourth Son for no reason.)“The double-dealing technique…” Borg said with a hint of arrogance in his tone. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. But your aura is lacking…” he looked to his left and saw ADE nets. “It seems Gray troubled you before I got here.”“Don’t fret,” Sheryl replied. “Even though I feel like I’m having fear, I can still f
