A few minutes earlier.

Diane entered a car showroom after closing hours because she was able to control the manager.

“I will take that red lamborghini aventador,” Diane told him and put a cash bag on the desk.

She only paid half the money, as the manager told her that he would give her a fifty percent discount.

Normally, it would take a couple of weeks to a month to get the car prepared and sent to the house, but the manager let her take the car straight away.

“I’ll let you take care of the registration process,” Diane told him and left in her dream car, feeling quite excited and thrilled.

As she drove through the streets roaring past the speed limit, she absolutely loved it, the noise, the wind, the view, and the feel of it all.

“Fucking hell! Finally! I can ride the car that bubble-gum chewing bitch rode that day at the bank!” she thought back of the time Sheryl appeared at the bank and humiliated her and her mother.

She still couldn’t forget how she and her mother were pushed out.

While the preparations for the port opening ceremony were happening, Sheryl was out in the ocean, creating channels of pathways with connected wooden logs that would help the ships to travel in different paths and dock at a particular spot, without having to worry about colliding with others. On top of that, she had to grow thorny, poisonous plants on the seabed near the shore so that they helped repel any dangerous sea monsters that might be attracted to the noise.Normally, beasts would avoid walking toward noisy places, except unless there were truly powerful ones similar to how lions would dare swim even in a stream full of crocodiles.Sheryl knew that the attitude of some of the sea beasts was nothing shorter than that of lions. So, she had to take extra precautions, even though she was depleting her energy reserves in doing so.Once everything was taken care of, she was on her way back to Rose Tower.Along the way, she happened to hear the sound of a procession.A group of peopl

Diane kept cutting the wood in the backyard, which was quite spacious than she thought. She swung the ax hundreds of times and cut dozens of logs, but she didn’t experience anything different.“You said I’ll feel something, but I’m not feeling anything,” she complained to Jamie who was shaving his beard.“Well, I’m not surprised. Your talent is rock-bottom,” he replied.“Ugh, I’m asking for your advice.”“I’ve already shown you the path. You just need to keep doing it,” Jamie said. “Aura isn’t something you can just manifest just from swinging the ax a hundred or a thousand times.”“Then why the hell did you give me this task?” Diane tossed the ax away.“You have to swing it a million times,” Jamie added.Diane’s mouth dropped. “W-What? A million times? Are you trying to kill my shoulders?”“Shoulders are the most mobile joints in the human body. They are only going to get stronger since ax-cutting movement is natural,” Jamie said. “Don’t ask questions and keep doing what you’re told.

The tasks at the port made Denver feel more and more nervous. After all, if this ceremony were to fail, it’d stop him from overcoming Hawkers one day, which he really wanted to do.Feeling heavy in the heart, he returned to Rose Tower using a movement technique he called Flash Step. This was written in the list of techniques Sheryl made for him, which he had used in the past.“I don’t remember using it, but my body seems to still remember it,” Denver thought. “I don’t feel strange using it.”Denver arrived at the balcony using this technique and startled Catherine from behind. She got a little scared, which made him laugh. “You need to hone your senses using aura.”“I did, back in the caves. Don’t you remember?” she retorted. “I was just focusing on the flight technique, so I didn’t sense you coming.”“If you’re struggling, I can help,” he touched just one of her hairs, but she could feel it.“Sure, since you know my ability, you can tell me your thoughts,” she put her arms on her wais

In Rose Park.Catherine was lying on the ground, huffing and sweating very much. But there was a faint smile on her face.Sheryl looked at the mild cut on her forearm. “You were only able to cut me because I lowered myself to a base level. Don’t forget that.”“Haha,” Catherine laughed. “I’m happy that I progressed even if it’s only a little.”“Don’t be too satisfied, or your growth will freeze,” Sheryl warned. Her forearm injury healed pretty fast.“Whoa, did you take the red pellet?” Catherine asked. “You healed fast.”“No. It’s because of the forest ability I have,” Sheryl replied.“But trees can’t heal, can they?”“Some trees do,” Sheryl said. “Don’t act like you know everything there is to know about trees. There are some plants that eat insects, and then there are some monstrous vines that even devour wild beasts and any passerby. If you underestimate them just because they can’t scream or don’t look intimidating, you're going to suffer in the future.”“Thanks for your advice,” C

Leo Adler left the house with a positive impression on Diane, which was exactly what she wanted.“He didn’t say goodbye, but he at least smiled,” Diane thought as she waved him goodbye. “This is a good start.”After Leo left, she locked the door so that Jamie wouldn’t tell her to go out.“What does your son do, Uncle?” Diane asked Jamie.“Save your energy. Leo stopped loving after his lover died.”“Oh, no. How did she die?”“He killed her.”Diane’s heart shook for a second. “W-What?”Jamie put the empty tea cup down. “She acted like she loved him, then stole his money and ran away. He was going to let her go, but then he found out that she also cheated on him. So, he tracked her down and killed her by stuffing all the dollar bills she stole down her throat.”Diane swallowed her breath. “I-Isn’t that true cruel?” Just thinking about a person dying from having cash stuffed in their mouth sent shivers down Diane’s spine.“She wanted the money, and he made it so that she could take it to

  • CHAPTER 367

In the morning, a piece of news was announced by the council. When the news reached Sheryl, she was quite disturbed by it. “R-Rankers Festival? Why now of all times?”“Why are you sweating?” Catherine asked. “Is it bad for us?”“It isn’t just a festival. Anyone from any group can compete with anybody,” Sheryl said. “A non-ranker can challenge a ranker, and even a ranker can also challenge a non-ranker. Refusing a challenge for a ranker means he’ll lose his position in the rankers. A non-ranker, on the other hand, will lose his rights to ever becoming a ranker if he refuses a challenge. Even those who aren’t part of the king’s blood must participate.”Catherine’s eyes widened. “It definitely sounds scary, but it’s only one fight, right?”Sheryl exhaled audibly. “No, one person can be challenged ten times in a day. And the festival goes on for a fortnight.”Catherine was stunned. “Y-You mean fourteen days?! What the hell kind of a festival lasts that long?”Sheryl’s jaw hardened. “The l
