Chapter 2

The Clooney family home, Niami Hill.

The house resembles a magnificent palace, decorated with crystals and lights in every corner. In the courtyard, colourful flowers adorned the garden.

That night the house was full of guests who had come for the coronation of the CEO of MOZA Enterprise. A company that was famous in Niami Hill City for a change of ownership.

The company was originally owned by George Hilton's grandfather, but he passed away a few weeks ago and the company was handed over to his stepson, Mr Donal Clooney Hilton.

The handover was so sudden that only a few of the closest and most influential people in the company were present.

It was also the engagement day of his eldest son Sean Clooney and Alexa White. The man wanted to make it a happy day among the investors who had come to increase their confidence in the company.

As the guests filed in, one man stood with his mobile phone in his hand, secretly calling someone in the hallway. "Well, did you do your job well?" His voice was softly covered by his hand.

"All done, they're all off the face of the earth, Mr Donal!" She said weakly into the phone.

"Well done, you deserve a special reward, I'll reward you handsomely!" she replied with a wry smile.

"Thank you Mr Donal! You are so humble." The man on the phone then hung up without hearing any more from his master.

After finishing his phone call, a 56-year-old man in a suit, tall with neat, tall and cut hair

approached several invited guests who were in another room.

They were standing with glasses of wine and chatting. They turned their heads when Donal Clooney walked by.

"I'm glad you finally came to honour my invitation, Mr Carles." The middle aged man said with a slight bow of his head.

The man smiled in return for the slight bow, "It's an honour to be present at such an important event, you're more deserving than the poor Hilton family." His tone was dismissive.

"You're right, if they were in charge of MOZA Enterprise, who knows what would happen? Our company could go bankrupt in an instant, couldn't it?" A woman named Lulu White, the wife of Mr Carles White, spoke up.

"You are so amazing Mr Donal! You have managed to persuade your father to give you his entire inheritance." Carles marvelled at Donal's figure. He raised his glass slightly to invite them to a toast. "Looks like I have a lot to learn from you."

The man called Carles smiled wryly at Mr Donal, so Mr Donal slowly approached him and they toasted each other triumphantly. "Ciss."

Tonight was an historic night for the Clooney family.

Meanwhile, in the corner of the room, a 28-year-old man, dashingly dressed in a neat suit, was holding a beautiful girl in a red dress. The man is Sean Clooney and his girlfriend is Alexa Alexander.

The two came hand in hand like a prince and princess who were very harmonious in their castle, looking handsome and beautiful.

"You see, our invited guests seem to fill the house. They are from honourable and influential families." Alexa said, smiling broadly and her eyes sparkling.

Sean then turned to his friend Alexa and answered her question. "Of course dear, they are my father's business friends and they come from a popular first class family in the town of Niami Hill."

Alexa nodded, then looked at some of the guests' outfits. "The dresses they are wearing are very expensive, I checked on several internet sources and the price is not less than 12 million dollars, some even use up to 80 million dollars just for one dress." Alexa muttered to herself, amazed at the guests at her party.

Maybe for them the value of the dress was very useful and could even provide for their family for 10 years. But they were spending it on one dress. Alexa was stunned.

Today was like a dream come true for her. To be in an environment she had dreamed of all her life, to have an influential boyfriend propose to her at a big party with VIP guests. The dream was now real and undeniable.

The two of them were now in the midst of the invited guests and at the centre of their attention.

The young man next door commented, "Looks like she's Jason's girlfriend? But why is she engaged to his cousin Sean?" The man gave her a curious look.

Although he wasn't sure, the man had seen Alexa several times having lunch with Jason in a noodle shop. But now he saw her engaged to someone else.

"Right, I've seen them together, apparently not only have I seen them, but Mr Sam has seen them too?" A woman in a purple dress interrupted Mr Sam.

A man with a charismatic style interjected, "If so, is this woman dating two men at once?" The man asked in surprise at the young man who knew him.

"I'm not sure, but she chose Sean as her fiancé today. And that's probably because he's rich and has everything." He said, his shoulders slumped as he laughed slightly.

"Hahaha, then she's a smart girl! Jason doesn't have a fortune to be proud of like Sean. Even if I become him, it's the right decision!"

Everyone is talking about Alexa and her boyfriend, which of course is a bit confusing for people who have seen her. You know that Alexa's boyfriend has always been Jason. But today Alexa is the fiancée of one of the richest families in Niami Hill. Sean Clooney.

Mr Donal Clooney announced to all the guests that his daughter's engagement ceremony was about to begin. They would place rings on each other's fingers as a sacred bond.

A beaming Alexa stood at the centre of the crowd, welcoming every smile and applause. This was the moment she had always dreamed of, becoming the fiancée of Sean Clooney, the perfect man who had secretly filled her heart. Her red dress shimmered under the crystal chandelier, reflecting the happiness that radiated from her face.

She stepped forward, Sean's firm hand gripping her fingers. Amidst the sparkling lights and the stares of the guests, Sean paused before a small table decorated with roses. He opened a small box lined with black velvet, revealing a stunning diamond ring.

Everyone held their breath as the couple prepared to place the rings on each other's fingers. But suddenly a loud voice echoed from outside.

"Stop it!"

The crowd fell silent. The music stopped. The guests looked at each other in confusion. From the dark corridor at the far end of the room came footsteps, heavy and slow. A man emerged from the shadows, approaching with a piercing stare that sent shivers down the spine.

"Jason Hilton!" one of the guests whispered in surprise, barely believing what he saw.

His appearance was unlike anyone else in the room - shabby, tattered black clothes covered in dried blood. His hair was matted, his face haggard and scarred. His eyes, though tired, burned with anger and pain.

His footsteps stopped in front of Alexa and Sean. He gave a small grin, the sound of his laughter faint but echoing. "Alexa, have you forgotten me?"

The room seemed to freeze. Alexa was speechless, her once radiant face now pale. Sean stood tense beside her, reflexively protecting her.
