Leonard Grey paced around the house obviously nettled 

" Your past embarrasses me" he said disgust evident in his voice and countenance 

Maya opened her mouth several times but no word seem to form out of it 

" Couldn't it at least be someone worth competing with? Not a wretched guy like that faker" he spat angrily 

Maya walked up to him, she batted her long lashes and traced his muscled chest with the tip of her long fingernails.

" He is past tense my love, I was just a silly girl carried away by fake looks" Maya said defensively 

Maya has always been a great seductress, she kept moving close to his body that he could not afford to escape her captivity 

Leonard Grey held her closer and planted a soft kiss on her lips

" Once I bag that contract from Zillow Jade we will move up to a third tier company on the ranking system " Leonard proudly declared 

Maya knew Leonard was egocentric,he loved to boast about his achievements and she on the other hand had learnt to fed his ego as he pleases.

" The contract is yours my love" Maya said to boost his confidence.

Maya's phone rang and she excused herself to pick up the call 

" And?" Maya said questioning the caller 

" He had signed it" Robert her lawyer retorted 

Maya heaved a sigh of relief, finally she had rid herself of her wretched husband who she had choose when good looks mattered too much to her

" And his laugages? " She asked coldly

" He sent a lost cause like himself to get them on his behalf" Robert said 

" That works for me " Maya said and shrugged her shoulder 

"Thank you Robbin " she said and hung up 

Maya smiled excitedly,her pretty face beamed with joy,she will finally be free to move on.

She didn't have an affair with Leonard Grey because she fell in love with him but she needed to climb the ladder to where her ambition could reach.

If only the CEO of Zillow Jade had been a male,he could have been her target

Maya swayed her hip seductively as she made her way back to the master bedroom where she left her fiance Leonard.

At the sight of her,he quickly gestured towards her to come quickly as he held out his iphone 14 for her to check out it's display 

" Ryan Hale the long lost heir to Zillow Jade has been found" she read out quickly 

Both Leonard and Maya exchanged looks of surprise , it wasn't a secret that the Hale took decades searching for their lost son.

" Do you think this is a good news?" Leonard said considering the odds

" Time will tell obviously " Maya said wiping off her makeup 

Leonard heaved a deep breath, he knew that fox Selena is up to no good when she decided that his company Golden Fingers proposal be rejected.

" I hope this Hale has some manners though because obviously Selena lacks it a lot" Leonard said in soliloquy as Maya had dozed off.

Ryan Hale kept Leonard awake, he knew this could be a great opportunity for him, obviously Selena hated his gut but the clueless newbie Ryan Hale could still be kissed up to.

Leonard looked at Maya who was deep asleep and he wore a rather unclear expression.

He didn't know why he was so attracted to this obviously sly woman.

What is the odds she wouldn't betray him on the long run? 

He remembered the stun look on her clueless clumsy ex-husband's face on the declaration of their engagement.

Maya truly is a beauty to behold,he was smitten by her submissive feminine aura she displayed 

On their very first encounter when she approached his secretary demanding to see him without prior appointment.

His secretary's rejection of her request had moved her to tears and she pleaded desperately to be heard.

Leonard couldn't fathom why he let her in to his office that day and how he made love to her that exact day.

She came to request that her husband's contract with Golden Fingers be made permanent.

Her boldness fancinated him and he made her a deal of adhering to her request in exchange with a one time sexual relation with him.

To his amazement,she didn't hesitate to give her consent and they had sex right in his office.

Maya never stopped coming over and he never stopped wanting her till he proposed wanting a forever with her

Coincidentally she got pregnant for him as claimed by her although Leonard still has an hair of doubt if he or Spence actually fathered her feotus.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Leonard heard Maya say concern evident in her sleepy voice 

Leonard turned back to her,he was so lost in thought that he didn't realize she was already awake

" Running a company requires some brain work" Leonard said lazily trying not to betray his present emotion

Maya smiled softly and draw closer to him, she hugged him to soothe his worries, she knew she had nothing to offer him yet except her encouraging words.

" Do you regret it?" Maya asked out of the blue

"What?" Leonard asked in confusion 

" That you choose to be with me" Maya asked in an unsure tone

Leonard smiled weakly at her, he couldn't dissuade her worry because part of it were valid

He was always a highly calculative man, choosing Maya was his only irrational choice in life,but at least he hoped to amass favors from investors with her pretty face and smile at get togethers

Also her mother Alice seem well connected with prominent personalities, despite the old hag seem even more greedy than her daughter.

" Are you still doubting the- us?" Maya stammered 

Leonard was nettled,how dare she says what she has no idea about 

"I am not ready to listen to your female insecurities" Leonard said coldly 

He stood up from the bed to exit to the guest room when he heard Maya's spiteful word

" Cold numbskull" she said rolling her eyes 

Leonard turned back,his face icy cold, Maya was startled, before she could react, he smacked her across the face 

" Ungrateful wench" he spat out resentfully and exited the room leaving Maya in a pool of her own tears .
