Liam's POV

For the past half an hour I sat still, listening to my mom's story with our drinks forgotten on the table in front of us. Her story was quite the wild one and I admit, confusing and complicated as well.

According to her account, she had met my father while she was a secretary, his secretary at Carter Enterprises. He was quite the womanizer too, but when he met her, something in him clicked into place and it didn't take long before they realized they loved each other.

With my father being from an aristocratic family, it was required of him as the eldest to marry and produce an heir to carry on the family name, business and legacy and my father chose my mom as the woman he loved, but there were complications.

For her safety, he refused to introduce her to his people and in secret, they got married away from his family and society's problems.
