Chapter 19

Emma held on tightly to Alexander's hand. He gave a weary sigh. He put the champagne bottle back on the ice bucket and sank himself back on the sofa.

"What happened to you? You were happy when I got here, and now, you have this coldness in your eyes I have only ever seen once on you." She said looking at him with worry written all over her face.

Alex looked quite dull probably from the glasses of champagne he gulped a few minutes ago. He stood up from the sofa and extended his hand to Emma.

"Take a walk with me."

Emma stared at him quizzically. She hesitated for a while but she gave him her right hand and Alexander led her out of the party from all the noise.

The walk was quiet. She walked beside Alexander for quite some time until they were in a rose garden. It was the most beautiful garden Emma had ever seen.

It was secluded from the main building of the estate. One wouldn't even know something like that existed in the estate. It had a tall glass casing, with the roof part open to
