"Where are you, Kelvin? When are you coming home? Please tell me something nice." He kept bombarding Kelvin with questions. There was so much joy and delight in his voice. 

Uncle Theo was an elder brother to Kelvin's Mom. But he sees Kelvin as his son and his responsibility. His love for Kelvin was as powerful as a father's love. 

"Katherine and I have divorced Uncle," Kelvin said abruptly, cutting him off. 

There was a short silence over the phone. "Hello," Kelvin said, glancing at his screen to be sure the call was still going. 

"Yeah, I heard you. That's a good thing, I warned you before remember." Uncle Theo said as he care less about his feelings. He never liked Katherine for once. 

"How long?" He asked. 

"Just today Uncle. Honestly, it doesn't matter." Kelvin said.

"Good, you should get over it. Remember I told you she's not worth it. You should have listened to me, boy." He declared.

"You were right Uncle, I'm sorry for not listening sooner," Kelvin said in a soft tone.

"Good! I'm happy that you've finally come to your senses. Now where are you? The family has missed your presence." Uncle Theo said to him.

"I have a request to make Uncle. This is a very big favor, and it means a lot to me." Kelvin told him confidently.

"Spill son, what do you want me to do?" Uncle Theo asked hastily. 

"I want you to buy me the Fubris company in Vancouzer. I want to own it. I want to make it mine, so I can make any decision I want in the company." Kelvin said. 

"Oh! That's it? Come on son, that's not a big deal. I was thinking of a big problem. If you want the company, you'll have it. I'm happy you finally left that marriage though." Uncle Theo said, paying more attention to his divorce with Katherine. 

Buying a company was never a problem for him. Not when he was in control of "Silverwood Associates," one of the biggest consortiums in the country. 

A warm smile spread across Kelvin's face, as he basked in delight, knowing that he would be owning the same Fubris Company soon. 

Kelvin was born into the Woodlock family, one of the most powerful and influential political families in Euphoria. They live in Boston, the Capital city of Euphoria, including his parents. 

After graduation from college, Connor Woodlock, his grandpa, tried to link him up with a profitable business, to keep the family wealth going. 

But Kelvin had other plans. He had fallen in love with Katherine, a beautiful girl from college. 

When his grandpa and Theo found out about Katherine, they pressured him to stop seeing her. 

At that time, he was engaged to Cara, the daughter of General Orlando himself. The Orlando family was a powerful military family in Euphoria. 

When the pressure from his grandpa and Uncle Theo became too much to handle, Kelvin eloped with Katherine, and he had his parents' support. 

He married her in a low style and subjected himself to poverty, just to remain hidden from his forceful family. 

However, he made sure to keep his real identity a secret from Katherine and her family. 

After Kelvin's disappearance, Connor Woodlock, his grandpa in anger ordered that they stop searching for him. 

But as time went by, the entire family was affected by Kelvin's absence, so they resumed searching for him but all efforts to find him proved abortive. 

And now, despite Kelvin's sacrifices, his beloved betrayed him for a managerial position. 

"So like I said, you're getting the company son. And before I forget, the marriage agreement with Cara was canceled a long time ago." Uncle Theo said to him. 

"Oh!" Kelvin said with relief on his face. 

"Yeah, General Orlando now despises me. We used to be best friends, but now he thinks I don't respect him enough." Uncle Theo added.

Kelvin was quiet at this point. Guilt painted his expression with muted colors, making him seem smaller and more vulnerable. 

If he had listened and married Cara, Uncle Theo wouldn't have lost his best friend. 

"I'm so sorry about that Uncle. It's my fault." Kelvin said, his voice barely above a whisper. 

"Nah! It's fine son. I'm just happy you're finally coming back to us. I'll talk to you later. Stay safe out there." Uncle Theo said, and Kelvin responded "Ok, Uncle," before he ended the call with a smile on his face. 

"Woah!!!" He screamed and punched the air in a sign of victory. Just immediately, Katherine plodded along carrying Duncan on her shoulders. He was bleeding from his nose and mouth. 

Kelvin let out a weird laugh on seeing them approaching. He hopped on his bicycle and stepped on its pedal.

"You bastard! I will come for you boy, I will have my revenge! Just wait." Duncan screamed angrily.

"I will take everything from you. Your joy, your happiness. Everything you've ever held dear to you. Starting from your wife. You made a big mistake boy." 

Hearing those words from Duncan angered Kelvin, but he didn't care. Besides, he will be owning the company soon enough. 

Duncan entered his car and drove off speedily, while Kelvin waved mockingly, with a smirk on his face. 

Kelvin turned around and saw Katherine staring at him with remorse. He sighed and started pedaling his bicycle, not minding that Katherine had a car that could take him faster.

She quickly entered her car and drove after him. She could go faster, but she stayed behind him, watching him as he pedaled slowly. So much fear and uncertainty on her face as watched him in admiration.

She parted her lips and gasped softly. "What if I'm wrong? What if I'm making a grave mistake?" She thought. She let out a deep sigh as her expression went cold, one could tell she still loved him. 

She had always seen Kelvin as a hot dude, right from college. Their relationship was epic, until after marriage, he became just another ordinary man to her. 

Of course, she worked in a big company and earned high. Why did her husband, who had graduated from one of the best colleges, only secure a job in a small company and never get promoted?

After so much pressure from her mom and brother, she became convinced that Kelvin wasn't good enough for her. He was not in her class, he was not at her level. Hence, she had to kick him aside.
