Arthur glanced at her one last time before snorting coldly. “You're a loser and will always be one.”

Without another word, he left her standing at the place, just like in the morning.

Once Arthur was inside Jesse's car, the latter started the car and drove off without saying anything. Arthur was expecting to hear a word from her but she said nothing until they got to the restaurant.

As soon as they got to the place, Jesse came down and began to walk away but Arthur quickly ran to catch her.

“Come on Jess, I don't understand your silence. What seems to be the problem?”

Arthur was confused and kept wondering about the sudden change in her mood.

“Why are you suddenly acting this way? Did I do something to offend you?”

Arthur was clueless and kept wondering what must have gone wrong.

“Nothing.” Jesse replied with a voice that lacked emotions.
