John hadn’t noticed when Anna and Collins walked in—he had been too consumed by the victorious message from Chucks. The words “it is done” still echoed in his head like a sweet melody. For the first time in days, he felt lighter, satisfied. The Johnsons would now understand what it meant to mess with the Raymonds.
Collins chuckled, pulling out his seat. “Hey, John, can you share with us the reason you’re so excited? You’ve been smiling like you won a private island.”
John sat back in his chair, trying to contain his glee.
“I don’t think you’d believe me if I told you,” he replied with a smirk that said otherwise.
Just as he was about to reveal the truth, their waiter approached the table with their orders—sparkling water, virgin cocktails, and a round of finger snacks. The man’s politeness and professional demeanor interrupted the moment, and John paused to let him finish.
“Would you need anything else?” the waiter asked, his notepad ready.
“Not at the moment. Thank you,” John replied.
Collins shook his head. “We’re good.”
The waiter gave a courteous nod and left. But as John returned his attention to his friends, he noticed something wrong. Anna wasn’t listening—her eyes were locked on her phone screen, her expression tight and pale, as though the screen held a bomb waiting to explode.
John leaned forward, concern washing over his face. “What’s the matter, Anna?”
Anna didn’t lift her head. “It’s Noel,” she said quietly, her voice trembling. “He just sent me the soft copy of the deal. My parents’ signatures are on it… and our family crest. It’s real, John.”
Her voice cracked on the last syllable. Her eyes were swollen, red, already glistening with tears she was fighting to hold back.
John’s jaw clenched. Collins’ fist tightened around his glass. Neither of them needed more information—this wasn’t just harassment anymore. It was psychological warfare.
Then another ping came from her phone.
Anna flinched as she read the message aloud, her voice hollow.
“‘Meet me at the Matron-Dax hotel in 30 minutes and don’t make me check the time. Your future husband, Noel.’”
The silence that followed was sharp and suffocating. Anna immediately began gathering her things, preparing to leave. She was visibly shaken, her hands fumbling with her purse, her shoulders trembling as if her body had decided it was done holding her together.
John gently stopped her. “You’re not going alone. We’re coming with you.”
“Absolutely,” Collins added firmly. “There’s no way we’re letting you face that animal by yourself.”
Anna looked up, hesitated for a second, then nodded.
The Matron-Dax Hotel was one of the few skyscraper hotels that dominated the skyline of Washington. A fusion of glamour and wealth, the building sparkled like a diamond both day and night. Its water fountain out front beamed the hotel’s name through a light projection that danced on the rippling water. It was a destination, not just a place to stay.
Celebrities, billionaires’ children, and international dignitaries frequented the hotel. Its rooftop pool, elite clubhouses, and wine cellars boasted more brands than any average collector would dream of.
John, Anna, and Collins arrived in silence. The ride had been tense, each of them lost in their thoughts. John had barely said a word the entire drive. His hands were clenched, his mind racing with possible scenarios.
If he touches her, if he tries anything… I’ll destroy him completely, John thought, his pulse racing.
Inside the hotel, the chaos had already begun.
Noel, Jerry, and Andrew were deep into a self-declared celebration of their second and third-place victories at the car showcase. If the opulence of the party was anything to go by, you’d think they had conquered an empire.
Red and white wine flowed like rivers. Bottles of champagne were opened without pause, some even sprayed into the crowd. Crystal glasses clinked, the air was thick with perfume, alcohol, and something less legal—smoke curling in slow, hypnotic spirals from hidden corners.
Every detail screamed wealth and recklessness: velvet suits, silk robes, designer fur coats. Gold chains, ruby-studded rings, and sapphire cufflinks sparkled under the strobe lights. Bodies swayed to deafening beats, drugs exchanged hands with casual ease. This was the underbelly of luxury—raw, untamed, and dangerous.
“Let’s all drink and be merry! We own this night!” Noel shouted, raising a golden glass filled to the brim.
Jerry joined in. “No one stays sober tonight. DJ, give us more fire!”
The energy was unhinged.
Noel, emboldened by power and inebriation, called over a bartender.
“I want the most expensive bottle of wine you’ve got,” he demanded. “And book the exclusive penthouse suite for me. The one that costs a million bucks a night. I want it now!”
The bartender hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Right away, sir.”
“And prepare a smaller suite for me. Just for an hour. I need privacy before I ascend to royalty,” Noel smirked.
The insinuation hung in the air.
Meanwhile, John, Anna, and Collins walked into the lavish hotel. The foyer gleamed with chandeliers and marble floors. At the front desk stood a receptionist who looked up, immediately straightening at the sight of them.
“Hello, sir. Welcome to Matron-Dax Hotels. How may we assist you today?” she said politely.
“We’re looking for Mr. Noel Johnson. Does that name ring a bell?” John asked, his voice calm but firm.
“Oh, the man of the hour?” the receptionist replied with a bright smile. “Yes, he’s hosting a party on the sixteenth floor, right wing, in the exclusive clubhouse.”
Her voice nearly trailed off into a sigh. She wasn’t at the party, but it was clear she desperately wanted to be.
“Do you mind if I take down your names to notify him of your arrival?” she asked sweetly.
“That won’t be necessary,” John said with a charming smile. “We’re here to surprise him. After all, it’s his big night.”
The receptionist blushed slightly and nodded. “Very well, sir. Enjoy your time.”
They stepped into the escalator that lifted them toward the sixteenth floor. The deeper they moved into the hotel, the more intense the atmosphere became. By the time they reached the right wing, the bass from the music could be felt in their chests.
The entrance to the clubhouse was velvet-rope secure, but Anna’s name was enough to gain them entry. A security man recognized it and stepped aside.
Inside was absolute chaos.
Lights flashed in every color imaginable. The dance floor was packed. People were drinking, dancing, laughing, kissing, and engaging in things better left unspoken. The air reeked of wealth and sin.
At the far end of the room was the VVIP section, elevated and protected by security. Noel, Jerry, and Andrew sat like emperors on thrones, looking down at their subjects.
Then Noel saw her.
Anna stepped into the room and Noel’s eyes locked onto her like a predator spotting prey.
A wicked smile curled across his lips.
“I can’t wait to eat this girl up and have sex with her until she breaks,” Noel muttered under his breath, licking his lips with satisfaction.
His friends chuckled, drunk and dangerous.
But then his expression changed. He noticed something else.
John.
And Collins.
Noel frowned but quickly brushed it off. He was the king here. Anna had walked into his world, and he could do anything he wanted. No rules. No boundaries.
He leaned back into his seat, arrogance oozing from every inch of him.
“She came,” he whispered. “Let the show begin.”

“It’s gone!” The man in the gold outfit’s voice tore through the room like a crack of thunder. His shock was genuine, his anger unfiltered. He had been ready to pay any price for the legendary Vase of Eternity, hoping its promise of eternal life could restore his family’s legacy and heal the wounds of the past. Now, staring into the empty box, that hope collapsed like a house of cards.“How can ten ounces of gold-plated vase just vanish like that?” King’s voice rang out, incredulous. He moved forward quickly, pushing aside two ushers to look inside the case himself. His reaction was even more explosive. “Security! Close the gates! We are not leaving here until the vase is found!” His command cracked with authority, his anger barely contained. The security guards stationed near the doors didn’t hesitate. They moved swiftly, their polished shoes clicking on the marble floor, sliding the heavy gates shut.“Close the gates?” The young CEO, dressed in sleek black with diamonds glittering a

The room was alive with the kind of energy only money could buy. The air felt heavier with each raised bid card, every voice cutting through the hum of anticipation like a knife.“I bid one point two million.”The words came from somewhere near the left side of the hall, clear and certain, the bidder’s voice betraying no hesitation. Heads turned, but not for long—this was just the beginning.“I bid one point five million.”Another voice rose, sharper this time, competing not only for the jewelry but for the invisible status that came with claiming it. The crowd began to lean forward in their seats, their murmurs layering over one another like the buzzing of a hive. Then it came.“I bid three million.”The sound hit the room like a shockwave. The crowd froze. Even the waiters carrying champagne trays slowed, their steps faltering as eyes snapped toward the voice. It wasn’t just the number; it was the audacity. Chapter 47: Blue Door or Pink Door
Stuck between a wall and a brick was the best way to describe John's current state. The two doors loomed before him like silent judges, each holding a future wrapped in mystery and risk. Behind one, a world he might thrive in. Behind the other, a trap he might never recover from. And yet, he had to choose. He wiped the sweat forming on his palms and stared ahead. The blue door was cold, almost intimidating. The pink door felt louder, more energetic. Neither seemed to call his name, yet both demanded an answer.Time was ticking.John closed his eyes. He saw his grandfather’s face, that weathered look of pride mixed with burden. That man had built an empire with nothing but grit and time. Go where the fire was first lit.”He opened his eyes. And chose the blue door.He didn’t rush. He walked with a quiet dignity that belied his internal
Chapter 46: Let the Games Begin
The grand auction hall buzzed with muted murmurs and low laughter as the attendees—all paragons of old money, tech tycoons, media moguls, oil barons, and aristocrats—moved to their assigned seats. Each person carried the air of untouchable wealth, their expressions stoic yet proud, as though being there was both a privilege and an expectation.John stood at the back of the room, ticket in hand, slowly growing uncomfortable.Everyone else had located their seats with ease. Each chair was marked clearly with the corresponding code found on the guest’s invitation. But John, despite scanning the rows twice over, found no chair bearing his number. His eyes flicked over the crowd, hoping perhaps someone had taken his seat by mistake. There was, however, one vacant chair left in the entire room—a plain, metallic seat near the door with no tag or designation. He hesitated.Somewhere in the shadows of the hall, King watched through a discreet surveillance feed, a glass of dark liquor in hand a
