Chapter Seven

Liam grabbed his coat and hurriedly ran out of the room. As he descended, he started thinking aloud “Who are they? I just hope it's not any member of the Thompson or Wilson family.”

Disappointment struck when he reached the bottom of the stairs and found Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. Shocked, Liam wondered, “How did they locate me?”

Approaching them questioningly, Liam's eyes widened. Before he could speak, Mr. Wilson delivered a hot slap, leaving Liam rubbing his cheek, only to receive another slap from Mrs. Wilson.

“Ah!” Liam shouted on the verge of tears. “Master, I didn't know...” he started, but Mrs. Wilson cut him off, scolding, “Shut up, useless boy! Do you want to bring more disgrace to the Wilson name? You came to this cheap hotel to mess around with some woman on the night of your wedding. If anything happens to this partnership, I’ll deal with you.”

“The Thompson family is waiting for you at their mansion. Now get out and let's go. I hope the punishment...” Mr. Wilson's words were interrupted by the hotel manager.

“Punishment? For what exactly? Please tell me why he should be punished?” The manager, named Mercy, approached.

Mercy offered her hand for a handshake, but she was Ignored, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson faced her with scorn. Mercy continued, “Nobody is punishing anyone here. Stop causing a nuisance. We have responsible guests.”

Mr. Wilson, visibly upset, glanced at Liam accusingly, insinuating that there was a relationship between the hotel manager and Liam. "Is she the woman you've been messing around with, you shameless boy?" Mr. Wilson pouted.

Aggrieved, Mercy retorted, "Who are you calling a woman of questionable character? You both must be out of your minds. I am not your adopted son whom you treat however you please. Behave yourselves."

Mrs. Wilson, with a mischievous smile, warned Mercy about talking to them disrespectfully. "You little brat, how dare you talk to us like that? Do you even know who we are?"

Mercy ignored their threats, exposing the downfall of the Wilson family and their attempt to revive their name through Liam's marriage.

"Who do you think you are fooling? The Wilson family went bankrupt. Everyone knows you pushed for Liam to marry Olivia Thompson just to revive your dead family name. You're shameless and classless." She threatened to call the police, "Leave before I call the police."

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson couldn't believe what they just heard, so they walked towards the exit.

“Liam, don't let this power-hungry people intimidate you. They owe you for making you marry someone you don't love,” Mercy added, calling the Wilsons back before they finally left.

The ride to the Thompson Mansion was an emotional wreck for Liam. Throughout the journey, they cursed him relentlessly.

Mr. Wilson, who was driving, said, "You're just a useless boy. How could you run away on your wedding night with a girl who lacks respect? You're just good for nothing."

Mrs. Wilson chimed in, "If you mess up this marriage, Liam, I’ll kill you. How worthless can you be?"

They kept pouring curses on him until they arrived at the Thompson Mansion.

Upon arrival, the environment was tense. The Thompson family, angered by the false accusations from Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, orchestrated against Liam.

“Mr. Thompson, we found Liam in a hotel with a lady. I believe he's cheating on Mrs. Olivia. But we handled it. Give him a punishment,” Mrs. Wilson stated.

Mr. Thompson looked at Liam, who was sitting helplessly on the floor as they denied him a seat on their expensive couch. He walked over, slapped him, and kicked his stomach.

“How dare you insult the Thompson family name?” While Liam winced in pain, Mr. Thompson continued to belittle him. "You should be happy and honored that my precious daughter chose to marry a low-life like you. Liam, you are the son-in-law of this family, and you must behave!”

Mr. Thompson, with a stern face, warned Liam not to tarnish the Thompson family name like the struggling Wilsons.

“Liam, if you make this mistake again, I'll ensure you spend your life in prison. I won't tolerate this anymore.”

Mr. Thompson added a warning to the Wilson family, "If your adopted son dares bring shame to the Thompson family, I'll make sure your family ceases to exist."

Mr. Wilson tried to speak, but Mr. Thompson's angry voice cut him off, "Now get the hell out of this house."

Before leaving, they brought Liam’s bag, making it clear they didn't want him to return to the Wilson family anymore.

As they exit the Thompson mansion, Mrs. Wilson warns Liam, "If you misbehave and the Thompsons send you away, don't bother returning to the Wilsons."

After the Wilson family left, Olivia turned to Liam with irritation, "Hey, Liam, it seems you want to bring shame to this house. From now on, your job is to clean every part of this house, do laundry, buy groceries, and attend to everyone’s needs. You go to work and come back to this house immediately. You don't have to go anywhere else except work, and you are not allowed to have friends or visit anybody. Failure to adhere to my orders will result in consequences. Do you understand?"

Liam, bowing his head, answered, “Yes, Mrs. Olivia.”

Olivia smiled, pleased with the impact her words were having on Liam. She peeked at her parents, and they all laughed. Liam was a toy in their hands, and they were ready to make life uncomfortable for him.

Instructing Liam again, she said, “Follow the butler; he will show you to your room. Put away your things, come down, and start working immediately. Don't waste my time, there are so many laundries to do”

Sluggishly, Liam got up, took his bags, and followed the supposed butler to a small room that barely fit two people. Once he settled in his room, Liam came downstairs as instructed.

When Liam got downstairs, what he saw Olivia doing was beyond his imagination.
