3. Embark

"Any results?"

A man with bright red hair asked his companion beside him while munching some peanuts in his mouth. His companion, a young man with age that looked like 26 and had azure hair and eyes replied, "The place still had MIZ (Magnetic Interruption Zone) online. The scrying magic didn't work at all."

"Even one of the forefront mages of divination was stuck by technology, huh." chimed someone in the car.

"Enchanted machine, Andie." glared back at the young man as he shot back, "Heard you were proud of your result in destruction school magic. Why don't you try to blast the freaking gate to open us the path."

"Enough!"

A middle aged man with a scar ran through his right eyes shouted to silence the bickering as he said in a stern voice, "Both of you are not a kid! Behave yourself!"

""Yes sir!""

Simultaneously answers both of them with a loud voice and takes a salute by placing their right hand fist to their left chest. Soon, the atmosphere in the car was filled with silence as everyone started to focus on their holographic screen and continued their job. Moving his gaze to the man who still snacking the peanuts while typing on his holographic keyboard, the middle aged man threatened softly, "Josh, if I still saw you munching on that thing in the next minute, I will assure you that would be your last dinner in the next three months."

Gulp

Swallowing hard, the man called Josh tried not to make a sigh as he put away his snack as he apologized, "My apologize, sir. I tend to eat before a mission."

Squinting his eyes, the middle aged man raised his head, eyes focused on the young man who sat on the right side in front of him and said, "Look at Luke. He had been quiet and focusing on his screen since the start of our journey. Just be like him and no more scenes."

Suddenly having his name being called, Luke's eyes widened a little as he glanced back at the middle aged man. Quickly, he waved the small panel on the corner of his screen before anyone saw it. He was actually daydreaming about getting his resign paper approved and getting a relaxing job, while playing some mini games in the corner of his screen.

"Captain Morlock, our armored personnel carrier would arrive at the location in ten minutes." a voice sounded right from the black bracelet on the middle aged man's right wrist.

"Copy that." immediately after hearing the notification from the driver, captain Morlock clapped his hands and shouted, "Alright boys, prepare your gear in five minutes! We have a job to do!"

""Yes sir!""

The rest of the people in the car shouted back in unison. Shortly, they prepare their weapons, starting to enchanted handguns, modified assault rifles that were made from magical items, along with other high tech equipment that was combined with spells.

Each person prepared their own communicator along with a similar black bracelet that the captain Morlock wore. After that, the group started to chant some ancient words to their equipment and one breath later, all the equipment changed into a tiny light that was as big as a needle and they flew to the soldier's bracelet.

Finished with their preparation, they went back to their seat which had two benches on both sides of the car. Sitting to their own previous position, some of them opened their holographic screen again to recheck the plans and map, while the rest just remained seated without doing anything.

"Let's say.." one of the men who chose to wait quietly suddenly asked in concern, "What if the superior decided to make us team up with the Gold Eagle?"

Some of the people groaned immediately, while the others furrowed their eyebrows. Raising his arms, the man who had asked the question then added, "It's a possibility."

"Yes it is," replied the middle aged man curtly as he continued, "And if they did, remember, we are soldiers. What would soldiers do?"

""Following orders!""

Nodding, the middle aged man said, "That's right, following order. That's all we need to know."

"I bet ten thousands of Federation credits that they're gonna stab us in the back. Every division knows our rift between them." stated the man called Andie as he humped when thinking about it.

A man with huge stature and a bodybuilder figure grabbed Andie's left shoulder from the back and smiled as he joked, "Worry not, Andie. Before they could stab us, we would stab them first."

*Chuckle*

One or two soldiers snickered from what their big companion uttered. Andie smirked as he lightly elbowed the man, "Blast them with your Earth Punch spell. You are the only one who had the strongest punch here, Weiss."

Rubbing his nose, Weiss smiled back and quietly took his colleagues' praise. Unsuspected by everyone in there, Luke silently activated the micro-recorder that was installed on his communicator before they departed. Luke's gaze became narrowed as he observed a particular individual on the corner of his eyes as he tried to not raise any suspicions.

Typing something in his holographic keyboard, he secretly sent a message to someone while overlapping his holographic panels with three statistics data and a building map to hide the chat interface. Seeing that no one glanced on his way, Luke muttered a spell softly.

"ᚱᛁᛋᛖ ᚢᛈ.. (Rise up..)

Watching that there's no reaction whatsoever from the spell, Luke knitted his eyebrows and thought to himself, 'This.. Might be harder than it seems.'

A few minutes later, the armored car stopped. The soldiers quickly get out and ready for their order. After watching their surroundings for a while, they saw the Gold Eagle division which they talked about before. The Gold Eagle soldiers were already wearing their full combat gear and preparing a huge mechanical dragon on the field as they ordered some MPS officers around.

"That's the DAP…" muttered someone in their group as everyone furrowed their eyebrows. The Dragonic Assault Prototype was heavy machinery for war. For taking it out in the middle of a city, the situation may be more serious than it looks like.

Suddenly, a voice shouted behind them with a tone full of strictness.

"Attention!"
