First Fight

Yohan was surprised. "No, no way."

The dragon had stomped two of his comrades to death in a gruesome way. Ancel turned his face away. He quickly pulled Yohan's arm away from the area.

"Hold on, we'll escape soon."

Yohan pulled his arm from Ancel's grip. "I won't just let that thing live."

Ancel was surprised. "What do you mean, Yohan?"

"I'll kill it."

Ancel gaped. "What? What are you thinking-eh, Yohan!"

Yohan ignored his comrades' calls and ran forward toward the rampaging dragon. Ancel and the rest of the hunters wanted to help, but they were all terrified beyond belief. They were used to dealing with the deaths of their comrades, but the grief of losing friends did not dissipate that easily.

Yohan looked down at his own arm. "If the poison in the dragon's saliva doesn't kill me, then I have a chance to defeat the dragon," he muttered.

"Roooooaaarrrr!"

Yohan jumped up and held on to the dragon's leg. The dragon flew up and kept moving its legs violently to make Yohan fall down. Fortunately, Yohan had been trained in parkour, so this was nothing new. The difference this time was that he was not flying and clinging to tall buildings, but was clinging to the legs of a flying and rampaging dragon.

"Yohan!" Ancel shouted from below.

Yohan looked down and drew his sword. "Stay away, I'll beat this damn dragon!"

To be honest, Yohan had no idea how to kill a dragon either. Last week, he still thought that dragons were just mythological creatures that only existed in fiction. Who would have thought that he would actually meet a dragon while lost in another world?

The dragon kept growling and trying to shake Yohan off his feet. Its poisonous saliva dripped uncontrollably. Yohan was hit several times by the droplets, but just like before, there were no wounds from the drool marks. The only effect Yohan felt from the saliva was the pain.

"Bastard!"

Yohan climbed through the dragon's legs with his sword drawn. The dragon growled angrily. Yohan's body was dangling and could fall at any time. If he fell in this state, the effects would definitely be quite severe. Even if Yohan did not die, some of his bones would definitely be broken.

"Feel this!"

Yohan jumped up and managed to climb onto the dragon's back. He slashed at the dragon's back with his sword, but the skin of its back was extremely hard. There were large sharp thorns on the dragon's back. He had to be careful not to slip and stab himself with the large sharp thorns.

"He's not breathing fire?" Yohan muttered. Ah, he just realized it. This dragon kept spitting out poisonous saliva from its mouth, but it did not breathe fire at all.

"Then this is my chance."

Yohan crawled onto the dragon's head. He almost slipped many times as the dragon kept moving irregularly.

"Yohan! Be careful."

The shouts of Ancel and his fellow hunters encouraged Yohan. Normally, he would not have thought about such shouts of encouragement. Perhaps because this was his first time facing a dragon?

"Waaaaaa!" Yohan held tight to the dragon's horns as it suddenly flew in a swooping way to target Ancel and his fellow hunters.

"What a shock."

Yohan took a dagger from his right pocket. The dagger also belonged to Alastair. Unlike the sword he carried, the dagger had been given to him by Alastair before he offered Yohan to join the hunters. Alastair did not ask for the dagger to be returned, instead he asked Yohan to use the dagger wisely.

"Ah, it would definitely be easier if I had a gun full of bullets."

The dragon's growl did not stop at all. It took extra effort to move on the constantly moving footing. Many times Yohan almost fell, but he could always maintain his balance.

"Come on, just stay still for a while," Yohan complained.

He crept up to the front of the dragon's face. Yohan was aiming for the dragon's mouth. If he could stab the inside of the dragon's mouth with the sword that Alastair had lent him, it would probably die.

"Roooaaaaaaaarrrr!"

"Feel this!"

Yohan forcefully pierced the inside of the dragon's mouth with Alastair's sword. He hung and swayed in the air as the dragon raged and agonized. Its poisonous saliva dripped more and more uncontrollably and caused Yohan great torment. There was no injury to his skin, but the pain was excruciating.

"Ancel! This dragon is about to fall, quickly prepare your arrows and aim for its lower belly."

Yohan's shout was heard by Ancel. He immediately obeyed what Yohan said. He also asked his other fellows to get ready. They immediately took a position some distance away so as not to be splashed by the dragon's saliva.

"Now!"

A dozen arrows flew out and directly targeted the dragon's lower belly. The dragon's growl of pain echoed loudly and sent the birds around the place flying.

"Alright, it's time for the final attack. Goodbye, dragon!"

Yohan pulled out the dagger at his waist. With quick movements, he stabbed the dragon's tongue as hard as he could. Slowly but surely, the dragon's growls grew weaker, its wild movements also slowly stopped. Seconds before the dragon fell to the ground, Yohan quickly crawled back up the dragon's back to avoid his body hitting the ground and being crushed by the dragon's huge body.

The sound of the dragon's body falling and dying was so strong that it shook the ground slightly. The dragon exhaled its last breath and died with its mouth part flooded with blood.

Ancel ran over to Yohan. "Yohan! Are you okay?"

Yohan took a deep breath and smiled widely. "Yes, I'm perfectly fine."

Ancel fell into a sitting position. "Thank goodness. You're really crazy, Yohan."

The other hunters also said the same thing. In truth, even Yohan was surprised at his boldness.

"Come on, we should quickly get out of the Nox area and head back to the palace. No signs of miasma have appeared yet. Everything is still quite safe."

Yohan nodded. Ancel and his fellow hunters walked ahead. Yohan pulled out his dagger that was still stuck on the dragon's tongue with difficulty. He quickly caught up with Ancel who was already a few steps ahead of him, but suddenly stopped and returned to approach the dragon's stiff body.

"Captain Indark said that the creatures living in this area have good uses."

Yohan plucked out some of the dragon's scales and put them in his bag. He also took a few drops of the dragon's blood and stored it in a small bamboo container. He did not know the uses of those two items, but at least he had souvenirs from this area.

"Alright, time to go home. Thank you, dragon. Maybe we'll meet again -eh?"

Yohan widened his eyes.
