“Father, please,” Chen Ruoxi pleaded, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Mei, Qing, and Yun Li’s mother were dragged out of the house and forced to their knees before Chen Guowei.

Ruoxi knelt beside him, gripping his leg as she pleaded, her voice cracking.

“Please… let them go… please, Mother Wang Jun is terribly ill, please,” she cried.

Chen Guowei kicked her aside, his foot slamming into her stomach.

She crashed into a nearby shrub, her face twisting in pain.

People gathered in large numbers, watching not with pity but with scorn and mockery.

“At least now our clan will be cleansed of their bad luck,” one of the onlookers said.

“Chen Ruoxi is so foolish. Why choose this worthless punk over Gu Yunfeng.” One of them interjected, scorn dripping from her tone.

Beside Chen Guowei stood three well built men. Their faces were expressionless, their eyes dark and cold.

Chen Guowei, Ruoxi’s father and a powerful weapon merchant in the Ashen Sky Clan, had always detested her association with Yun Li and his family.

“Since you refused to stay away from them, I will kill them before you disgrace me any further,” he said.

He waved his hand.

One of his men stepped forward, extending his palm as a large fireball formed above it.

He hurled it toward Yun Li’s family.

Just as it was about to land, Shen Wuyin reached  them, his gaze darkening as he slammed the flame away. It struck nearby shrubs, which erupted instantly into fire.

“Yun?” his mother muttered under her breath.

“Brother!” Mei and Qing gasped, tears breaking from their eyes once again.

“How dare you?” Shen Wuyin growled, fury flashing across his face.

He immediately dropped to his knees beside his mother and gathered her frail body into his arms, lifting her with a care that contrasted sharply with the rage burning in his eyes.

“Take it easy, I am here now,” he said, guiding her toward the house.

“Stop right there!” Chen Guowei yelled, his eyes reddened with fury.

Shen Wuyin did not stop.

“Mei, Qing, come take care of Mother,” he said over his shoulder.

They rushed after him, their vision blurred with tears.

He laid Yun Li’s mother on her mat carefully, and before she could speak a word, he turned and stormed out of the house.

“Burn them!” Chen Guowei ordered.

The men stepped forward again, fireballs forming in their palms.

Ruoxi staggered to her feet, clutching her stomach as she walked toward her father.

“Father, please… let them be,” she begged.

Chen Guowei turned sharply and struck her across the face.

The sound cracked through the air.

The onlookers gasped.

Ruoxi’s head snapped to the side, tears spilling from her eyes.

“I warned you, did I not?” Chen Guowei snapped. “You disgraced me before Gu Yunfeng!”

Ruoxi turned back to him, her eyes red and shaking.

“I do not want to marry that old moron!” she shouted, her fingers curling into fists.

Chen Guowei stepped forward and slapped her again, leaving a clear imprint on her cheek.

“How dare you insult your soon to be husband, the leader of the Azure Peak Sect,” he said through gritted teeth.

Ruoxi’s jaw trembled from the impact.

“You will marry him whether you desire it or not,” he added coldly.

Gu Yunfeng had requested Chen Ruoxi's hand in marriage in exchange for granting Chen Guowei access to a coveted position within the Azure Peak Sect's market.

As one of the largest commercial hubs in the region, the market attracted powerful merchants, wealthy buyers, and cultivators from far and wide. The opportunity was simply too valuable for Chen Guowei to refuse.

That very night, Chen Ruoxi arrived at Yun Li's house after fleeing her own bridal ceremony. She could not bring herself to marry Gu Yunfeng—a man well into his fifties, bald-headed, and infamous for a reputation she found utterly abhorrent. Not when the man she truly loved, Yun Li, was still alive.

Just then, Shen Wuyin stepped out of the house, his gaze cold with restrained fury. He moved straight toward Chen Guowei’s men without hesitation.

A sharp pew!

echoed as he unleashed the Blade Strike Technique he had taken from one of the ten cultivators.

Invisible blades tore forward at terrifying speed, shattering their defenses and slicing clean through their throats.

Blood sprayed into the air as he stepped forward calmly, as though nothing had happened.

The men staggered back, clutching their necks as they tried desperately to pull the blades out. Blood gushed from the wounds.

“Blade Strike Technique?”

“How does he have that?”

The onlookers Jaws dropped.

Ruoxi turned toward him.

“Yun!” she exclaimed.

Just as she was about to run to him, her father grabbed her sleeve and yanked her back.

“And where do you think you are going?” he said, tightening his grip as he lifted her by the neck.

“I already warned you,” he gritted.

He glared at Shen Wuyin.

“You filthy brat, know your place,” he warned.

He dragged Ruoxi into the air and moved swiftly.

“Yun!!!” Ruoxi cried.

Shen Wuyin stood still, his eyes locked on them.

“I cannot save her now,” he muttered.

The onlookers slowly dispersed, murmuring among themselves as they questioned how Shen Wuyin could use the Blade Strike Technique without a dantian.

Shen Wuyin turned back and entered the house, crouching beside Yun Li’s mother. He placed two fingers lightly at her neck, checking her temperature.

Her skin was ice cold.

“Are you hurt?” he asked.

“Yun Li… Ruox…” she tried to speak, her voice weak and fragmented.

Shen Wuyin raised a hand, cutting her words short.

“Get some rest.”

Mei quickly pulled him aside, her eyes still red and swollen from tears.

“Brother, where were you the past two days?” she asked in a trembling voice.

“Two days ago?” Shen Wuyin repeated, a faint flicker of confusion passing through his expression.

“Yes, since you left,” Mei nodded firmly.

Shen Wuyin shifted his gaze slightly, as though searching through distant memory.

“I spent a full day in the southern ocean,” he thought silently, uncertainty lingering behind his eyes.

A loud bang struck the door, instantly shifting the atmosphere in the room.

Yun Li's mother gasped, her heart skipped a beat..

“Useless Yun Li, get out here now!!!!” A booming voice shook the door.
