Shen Wuyin opened the door.

Ten men stood outside, their robes swaying in the wind as they blocked the entrance. Their expressions cold.

One of them stepped forward and cracked his knuckles.

“Pay us what you owe our boss, the three days are over!” he yelled.

Shen Wuyin looked at him for a moment without saying a word, and then he reached into his robe, took out a coin bag, and tossed it forward.

The man caught it instinctively.

A clicking sound followed as the gold coins shifted inside.

The group fell silent.

Even the man holding the bag seemed momentarily stunned.

“Thirty thousand gold coins,” Shen Wuyin said calmly.

The man's eyes widened.

“Don't ever come near me or my family again.”

Without waiting for a response, Shen Wuyin turned around and slammed the door shut.

Bang!

The ten men stood frozen outside.

None of them had expected the debt to be paid so easily.

After staring at one another for several moments, they eventually turned around and left.

★★★

In the woods behind Yun Li's house….

Sunlight filtered through the branches of the trees, casting patches of light across the forest floor.

Sweat covered Shen Wuyin's skin.

His chest rose and fell steadily.

He had just completed one thousand and fifty pushups.

His muscles burned yet his breathing remained controlled.

A grin slowly curved across his lips.

“I need to practice my new techniques.”

He extended both palms.

Flames immediately appeared above his skin.

The fire danced wildly before settling into a stable form.

Shen Wuyin narrowed his eyes and pushed his palms forward.

Qi surged through his meridians. The flames shot forward.

Their intensity increased as more qi poured into them.

Several plants caught fire instantly, dry leaves curled into ash.

Branches blackened beneath the heat. The scent of burning wood filled the air.

Shen Wuyin nodded slightly. “Not bad.”

Next, he focused on another technique.

The Spike Strike Technique.

Silver light gathered around his fingers, sharp metallic spikes formed rapidly around them.

The moment he pointed forward, the spikes launched through the air.

Several trees were struck instantly. The spikes buried themselves deeply into the trunks.

“Ouch!”

A soft voice suddenly echoed from one of the trees.

Shen Wuyin frowned.

His head snapped toward the trees.

“How long have you been there?” he asked, stepping forward.

A masked figure sat casually on one of the branches.

The figure narrowed its eyes, clutching its left arm.

“A duel?” the voice asked.

The masked person jumped from the branch and landed smoothly on the ground.

Shen Wuyin watched carefully.

“How long have you been there?” he asked again.

“Long enough to know you are still learning your way around cultivation.”

A small smirk appeared on Shen Wuyin's lips. “Quick to judge.”

The masked figure stepped forward. “Agreed.”

Shen Wuyin's eyes brightened. “Finally, a proper training partner.” He thought.

“Take off your mask,” he said as he slowly circled around.

“No.” The masked figure moved as well.

Both of them walked in a circle while studying one another.

Cling!

The masked figure suddenly drew a sword. The blade gleamed beneath the sunlight.

Shen Wuyin looked at it and sighed.

“I was beginning to feel bad for you. I thought we were only going to exchange punches.”

“You should save that pity for yourself.”

The masked figure moved first.

A sword strike sliced toward Shen Wuyin.

Immediately, he widened his palm.

Green light gathered in his hand. A sword materialized instantly.

The masked figure's eyes narrowed. “Impressive.”

Clang!

Their blades collided. Sparks erupted immediately.

The sound of metal striking metal echoed through the forest.

Both of them moved rapidly. Each strike collided with a sharp cling.

Clang!

Leaves drifted from nearby branches as shockwaves spread through the air.

The masked figure was competitive, far more competitive than most cultivators Shen Wuyin had encountered since arriving in this world.

The masked figure's sword suddenly flew from their hand.

It spun through the air before crashing onto the ground.

Shen Wuyin lowered his sword.

“So that was your plan to beat me?”

The masked figure rolled their eyes.

“I let you win.”

Shen Wuyin laughed.

“Fine. Then let's go all in.”

The masked figure stomped a foot onto the ground.

Immediately, a white circle spread outward beneath them.

Qi surged around the figure.

“Boy, show me what you've got.” The masked person said.

Shen Wuyin grinned.

He wrapped qi around himself.

The duel resumed, this time neither side held back.

They exchanged strikes continuously. The ground cracked beneath their feet. Several trees were sliced apart by stray attacks.

Just as the masked figure launched another strike, the mask suddenly loosened.

It slipped free.

The mask fell completely.

Long hair cascaded down. Delicate features were revealed beneath it.

Shen Wuyin froze briefly.

“A girl?”

The young woman raised an eyebrow.

A grin spread across Shen Wuyin's face. “Interesting.”

The girl clicked her tongue.

“Focus.” She attacked again.

The strike narrowly missed Shen Wuyin by less than an inch.

He immediately countered. Silver spikes formed around his fingers.

Several spikes shot forward.

The girl reacted quickly, dodging the spikes as she moved across.

Just when she thought it was over, a silver spike pierced her shoulder.

Her body stiffened almost immediately.

Her eyes widened slightly, then they rolled upward while her knees buckled.

A moment later, she collapsed unconscious.

Shen Wuyin crotched beside her, hurriedly checking her pulse.

“She's still alive.” He muttered.

Without wasting time, he lifted her into his arms and carried her home.

The moment he stepped through the door, Mei looked up.

Her brows immediately lifted. “Who is she?”

“She's injured.”

Shen Wuyin walked across the room and gently placed the unconscious girl on his mat.

Mei folded her arms. Her brows furrowed deeply.

“It hasn't even been three hours since Aunt Ruoxi was taken away, and you're already bringing another girl?.”

Shen Wuyin stared at her blankly.

“What are you talking about?”

He turned around and headed back toward the woods to get herbs that would wake her up.

As he disappeared among the trees, a man watched Shen Wuyin silently from the shadows.

His gaze never left Shen Wuyin's back.

“Shen Wuyin.” The man's eyes narrowed. “I'm certain that is him.”

A faint smile appeared on his face as he continued watching from afar.
