Chapter 2

"Hey George. Wow, nice blazers! You got a billionaire vibe there, buddy," said one of the guests to George.

"Why thank you, David, and of course I have to dress up properly. After all, it's my grandma's birthday. There's no way I'm going to wear an old grandpa blazer like the one over there," He said, pointing at Greg, who was eating fruit with Georgia beside him.

Georgia, who knew that they were being insulted, immediately glared at Greg.

"Why did you use that old blazer? Can’t you wear something else?"

"Well, this blazer was a gift from your grandpa to me, wouldn't it look nice if I wore it for your grandma's birthday?" He asked.

"Huh. Why does Grandpa have a bad taste in everything?" She thought as she rubbed her temples.

David, who saw them, immediately furrowed his brows.

"Is your sister still with that poor? Why didn't she divorce him? I mean, your grandfather is already dead!" He asked George.

"Well, grandma would say no, you know what the folks would say if they divorced, grandma won’t tolerate all that shame! Tsk, I don't know what grandpa thought when he set Georgia with him! I mean, he's just a poor man from the flea market!

To be honest, I like Victor more, even though he looks like a rat."

"Hm, maybe because he's good looking? That tramp could be a slave being sold for a low price, and your grandfather purchases him so that her beloved granddaughter does not marry that rat, hahahaha!"

Hearing those words, Georgia's ears were scorched. She really wanted to confront her brother!

Before Georgia could take action, Greg had already stopped her by grabbing her wrist.

"Just let them be. They will be happy if you overreact because it can worsen your image."

As much as Georgia hated her husband, she had to admit that his opinion was right. It could ruin her image even more. And she can’t let that happen.

"Ugh, this loser is right. It's already enough to be humiliated for being with him. I don't want to get humiliated again by my disrespectful attitude!" Georgia sighed, taking a deep breath and trying not to listen to her brother's insults.

"Anyway, George, what did you bring for Grandma's birthday?"

"Nothing much, I only bought her this!" He said, pointing to an expensive looking antique vase that was neatly displayed on the table. "I purchased it during a business trip to China; the prize is only $ 20,000,000!"

"$20,000,000??? And only?! That's really a lot of money! Wow, but you can definitely afford that! After all, you are the most successful person among your peers in this family! You truly are Millen's face!" David praised while glancing admiringly at the vase.

"Hahaha, you praise me too much! Well, I only bought it because Grandma likes antiques, and thankfully she likes the present and immediately displayed it here!" George said this proudly. "I can't imagine how Grandma will react if I give her a cheap flower brooch from a second-hand shop!"

"Well, I believe she will be disappointed and will disown you if you give her that. Hahahaha!"

That's it! Georgia couldn't take it anymore, she went straight to her brother and confronted him.

Her brother had gone too far!

"Georgia, listen!" Greg said while holding his wife's arm. "Please calm yourself. Just ignore him and—" Before Greg could continue his words, Georgia had already put her pointed finger at her husband.

"Shut up, you loser!" She hissed, her eyes fixed on him with hatred. Was it not for Greg, she would still be the princess of the family. "Since you’re not manly enough to stand up, then let me handle this!" After that, she turned to her brother.

"What's wrong with you? Why keep insulting Greg and shaming me?" she said, looking intently at her brother.

"Insulted him? Me? Tsk! I'm just telling him to be a good brother-in-law so that the loser will dress better next time. After all, he's now part of the Millen, he should be able to live up to our standards!"

"What do you mean by dressing better? He is already wearing proper clothes!"

"Yeah, sure, that proper clothing is just a cheap old blazer from Grandpa. But at least he shouldn't have bought a cheap flower brooch from a second hand shop for Grandma's birthday," said George while raising his voice at the end, and it succeeded in making the guests talk about them right away!

"A second hand shop? Was he really planning to give that to Grandma Millen? He must be sick!"

"Tsk! I knew right away that the tramp wasn't fit to be a part of the Millen! Grandpa Millen must have been crazy to set Georgia with him!"

"Poor Georgia, she grew up as a Millen and could have had a wonderful life with Victor Hill if she hadn't ended up with that bum!"

Enough! Georgia couldn't stand all the shame she was going through!

She had to admit that Greg's presence as her husband was very embarrassing. He was very poor, his family status was unclear, and there were many other negative things that she could mention.

But still, wasn't everyone going too far? At least Greg still has good intentions! He used their savings to buy it.

As for her brother? He's only rich because he inherited money from her grandfather. Can he really buy that expensive vase with his own money? Georgia didn't think so!

"So what?" Georgia protested.

"At least Greg used all our savings to buy the best gifts to please Grandma. Not to flaunt it in front of guests like you, you childish!"

After she said that, the situation immediately reversed, and everyone started to laugh at George.

George, who was laughed at, of course, did not accept it. He looked at his younger sister sharply and said,

"Oh, so you started defending the tramp, huh? Tsk, well, sure, of course you must defend him, after all, you are his wife! Which means you're now low, poor, and a loser all rolled into one, like him. Ha!

You are no longer the elite Georgia Millen that everyone knows, but poor Georgia. Hahahahaa!"

Georgia was immediately speechless after hearing his words. She can't find any words to defend herself or fire back at her brother because what he said is true.

She's just a poor girl now.

Georgia blushes hard and is embarrassed to hell with that fact.

Meanwhile, Greg, who had been silent all this time, couldn’t simply accept his brother-in-law's insults to Georgia.

No matter what, he had to defend his wife!

Suddenly, his eyes were drawn to something strange in that antique vase brought by George.

He walked towards the vase and started inspecting it.

George, who saw Greg near his vase, immediately scolded him. "Hey, what are you doing over there? Get away from the vase, you might break it!"

But Greg didn't care about his brother-in-law's, he started to lift the vase and turn around calmly, making George even more hysterical. "Hey! Are you deaf? Don't you hear what I-"

"I might be poor but at least I am not evil and dishonest like you, who bought this fake vase, right?"
