If his actions were reported to his father, then Malakai Yan was sure that his father would not hesitate to expel him from the Wudang Sect.

"We have to go!" snapped Malakai Yan harshly as he pulled his two friends, Judith Tang and Teddy Huo, to leave the place. The two of them followed Malakai Yan back to the residences of the inner court disciples in the Wudang Sect.

Since Elder Juric Teng's arrival, the audience of Wudang Sect's outer court disciples had immediately dispersed. No one dared comment after this stern elder's arrival.

After things quietened, Elder Juric Teng flicked his sleeves and disappeared in a light movement.

At that moment, Millie Xiao immediately ran towards Eadric Rong, who was still on the ground from the blow. Malakai Yan's sword had almost taken his life.

"Eadric Rong, are you okay?" the girl asked as she scrutinized Eadric Rong's body, looking for signs of injury.

"Ah, they're all just minor scratches. They'll heal over time," Eadric Rong replied as he took out some ointment to treat the sword scratches on his body. While Millie Xiao applied the ointment, Eadric Rong was only silent, paying close attention to her every move.

"Millie Xiao, were you the one who called Elder Juric Teng earlier?" asked Eadric Rong.

Millie Xiao did not answer but nodded while staying focused on her task.

"I have told you repeatedly. There's no need to intervene between Malakai Yan, me, and his friends. I'm afraid you'll get into trouble," Eadric Rong said in a worried tone.

However, Millie Xiao just shrugged indifferently.

"If I'm not the one to report this incident, then who is? Malakai Yan's behavior deserves punishment. I wouldn't be surprised if he faces trouble someday because of his arrogant attitude."

Eadric Rong finally expressed his gratitude. Millie Xiao's help was a lifesaver that might have prevented him from greater harm.

The two parted ways, with Eadric Rong heading for the sect's kitchen, where he worked daily as an outer court disciple and laborer.

"Be careful on your way home. I'll go to the kitchen to prepare dinner," Eadric Rong said before parting ways.

The fire crackled in the large sect kitchen, and the heat spread. Dinner preparations had to be provided for the many sect residents, especially those of the inner court disciples, officials, and sect leaders.

Outer court disciples are not considered and must fend for themselves. Those unable to endure it can leave the sect, as this is the best option.

That night, Eadric Rong returned to the humble cottage where he lived. He was exhausted. Two of the ten workers on duty with the head chef were absent today, so the work had to be handled by the seven of them.

"I'd better go straight to bed. I can't do it anymore, memorizing copies of martial techniques and practicing gathering pure air."

Eadric Rong practiced diligently because his congenital disability prevented him from gathering pure energy. Catching up was his attempt to challenge the laws of nature.

It was between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at that time. The road to his residence at the edge of the forest was very quiet. Eadric Rong's residence was indeed very secluded in the Wudang sect.

Not many outer court students chose to set up their huts there because it was too far from the center and quite dangerous at night, as sometimes wild animals came out of the forest.

When Eadric Rong had just opened the door of his hut, a wooden beam suddenly hit his head.

PANG!

The world instantly became dark.

The stars swirled in Eadric Rong's mind as he fell unconscious, not knowing what was happening around him...

The night breeze rustled, and owls hooted as the night wore on.

At that moment, the sound of clomping feet could be heard approaching the unconscious Eadric Rong and then dragging him along.
