Chapter 9 – The Siblings' Combination

Luo Lian took out a dark crimson pill, the color of thick blood, from his storage ring. It was the reward he had received for winning last year's Zhi Kingdom Tournament.

The pill had been refined by a high-ranking alchemist using the blood of a Knight Realm cultivator as its main ingredient.

In other words, the Zhi Kingdom was ruled by King Zhi Yuan, who himself was a Knight Realm cultivator. The pill had been created using the king's own blood and awarded as the grand prize in the kingdom's annual competition.

The pill's effect was to temporarily elevate the consumer's cultivation to the Knight Realm.

Without hesitation, Luo Lian swallowed the Knight's Blood Pill. Instantly, a terrifying surge of energy erupted violently from his body, splitting the lake beneath him apart as though it had been struck by a colossal war hammer.

Luo Lian's black hair turned white, his muscles swelled, and a horrifying aura radiated from his entire body.

Meanwhile, Luo Yi remained standing calmly, as though he wasn't affected in the slightest by the terrifying aura Luo Lian released.

Even so, Luo Lian was now convinced that, in his current state, defeating Luo Yi would be effortless.

Without wasting another moment, he tightened his grip on his sword, intending to kill Luo Yi before the effects of the Knight's Blood Pill wore off.

“I'll kill you, Luo Yi!” he roared before shooting toward him like a bolt of lightning.

Elsewhere, near the Cangliu River north of Wuyao Lake, two women were engaged in a ferocious battle.

Dust billowed through the air, towering trees crashed to the ground, and the earth trembled each time a gigantic tail slammed into the surface.

A colossal crimson scorpion, its pincers as large as iron shields and its venomous tail gleaming ominously, let out savage roars as it launched one frenzied attack after another.

Yet neither woman showed the slightest fear.

Their movements were perfectly synchronized, complementing each other flawlessly as they executed a seamless combination attack.

They were Luo Yin and Luo Qin, sisters known far and wide by the title Death Duo because of their extraordinary teamwork in battle.

“Sister Yin, I'll distract it. You find its weak spot, then we'll attack together!” Luo Qin shouted as she leaped from side to side, narrowly avoiding the giant scorpion's tail.

“Alright!” Luo Yin immediately stepped onto her sword and soared into the air, weaving left and right while firing streams of Qi at the scorpion, searching for its vulnerable point.

When she noticed that the scorpion instinctively shielded its eyes every time her Qi attacks targeted them, she called out, “Its only weak point seems to be its eyes. The rest of its body is far too tough—my attacks can't penetrate it!”

“Then it looks like I'll have to use my Arachna Puppets to restrain its pincers!” Luo Qin declared before jumping onto her sword and flying upward as she summoned two Arachna Puppets.

The horse-sized spider puppets sprang into action the moment they appeared, each moving under Luo Qin's precise control through her Qi.

As though it possessed intelligence of its own, the giant scorpion ignored the spider puppets entirely and instead fired a jet of venom from its tail straight at Luo Qin like a bullet—swift and deadly accurate.

Just as the venomous projectile was about to strike Luo Qin, one of Luo Yin's Qi blasts intercepted it, shattering the attack midair.

“Just focus on controlling your puppets, Qin'er. I'll protect you!” Luo Yin called out.

“Thank you, Sis!” Luo Qin replied. Now she could devote all her attention to controlling her puppets without worrying about the venomous attacks, trusting completely in the abilities of her older sister, once renowned as the Yin-Yang Swordswoman.

Below them, the two spider puppets split apart, one circling to the left of the Crimson Scorpion Monster, the other moving to its right.

Then, both puppets simultaneously shot thick strands of webbing from their mouths.

Because the Crimson Scorpion Monster was completely focused on attacking Luo Yin and Luo Qin in the sky, it failed to notice the spider puppets closing in. In the next instant, both of its massive pincers were tightly bound by incredibly strong spider silk, far sturdier than ordinary webs.

Luo Qin smiled in satisfaction before shouting, “Its eyes, Sis! Now!”

Without missing the opportunity, Luo Yin immediately unleashed the Yin Energy Sphere Technique straight at the Crimson Scorpion Monster's eyes, and...

BOOM!

The Crimson Scorpion Monster convulsed violently. Both of its eyes exploded, and its enormous body crashed heavily onto the ground, sending clouds of dust billowing into the air. Moments later, it lay completely motionless.

The two women finally let out sighs of relief, though they were still breathing heavily.

Once she had caught her breath, Luo Qin walked over to her sister and gave her a high-five. “Great job, Sis! You're amazing!”

Luo Yin smiled. “I'm not amazing. There's no way I could've defeated that ferocious monster without your help, Qin'er.”

“Oh, Sister Yin, you're being too modest,” Luo Qin said. “Come on, let's retrieve its Soul Crystal!”

Luo Yin nodded, and the two sisters walked toward the corpse of the Crimson Scorpion Monster.

But just as they were about to retrieve its Soul Crystal, a deafening explosion suddenly echoed from the south.

Both women immediately turned toward the source of the blast.

“What was that?”
