“Hi, I’m here to see the man that was just brought in,” she muttered to the Blonde-haired, woman behind the desk.

"Were you the one I called a moment ago?"

Joan looked back at Brock. "Yes."

“He is in the ICU. Why don’t you have a seat and someone will be available shortly to speak with you.”

“But we got a call from you guys. Can I go back and—”

“Have a seat and someone will be out to speak with you.”

She walked back to her seat and sat down slowly, reminding herself why she hated the West.

On the wall a clock ticked at the same pace with her pulsating nerves.

After a gasp Logan's eyes fluttered open, he looked around the room that wasn't his, the unfamiliarity of the room sinking into his inner mind.

"Where am I ?" He questioned.

The Images of the previous night flooded through his mind, last night he had thought it would most certainly be his last, but he was in this —.

He tried sitting up but felt a sharp pain at the side of his head.

He let out a cry of anguish. "I am going to make them pay."

For some reason he was glad they didn't take the ring, perhaps they thought it was valueless. All these thoughts filled his mind but most prominent about it was the fact that all this wouldn't have happened if Joanne hadn't left him.

In a way if there was anyone to blame for the entire issue it all came down to her—Joanne, he couldn't explain why but there was something about her that he couldn't wrap his fingers about.

He decided that it was best he ignored that gutted feeling he was feeling deep inside of him, while his nerves were still racing with the thought of revenge. One thought was right there in his mind and that was to handle this a whole lot more differently, but how?

At the moment, he is still there lost in thought and looking out of the window,

absent-mindedly.  The minute trickled slowly in his heart, at one point he thought the best way to deal with all the situation that was happening at the moment was to stay away.

The door creaked and once again his attention was drawn to the door. He could say if she was the last person he was expecting to see but then as she made her way through the door that anger from the previous night filled his mind.

"Good to see you are awake." She spoke quickly.

"Well, things didn't turn out the way you expected, still can't believe you left me out there all by myself." He stutters with words.

"You caused it, you shouldn't have asked me to kiss that man." She retorted.

"So all of this was because of a kiss ?" He shakes his head.

"Who did this, did you get any of their faces?" It was Brock Speaking, he hoped to himself that somehow this would diffuse whatever this was all about.

"Don't know, but something is dragging me back to the Craven."

Joanne and Brock shared a look. "Just be fine, I'm sure the men will work on it."

He walked away leaving the two, she walked to the end of his bed took out his patient vitals, and read from them.

"Broken rib, a broken nose… " she looked up at me. "Were you not with your gun?"

"It was supposed to be a harmless dinner." He rolled his eyes.

Joanne pushed against the bed. " There is nothing safe here, don't you get it! " She spoke a little bit more. " You either use a fucking gun or end up like this. "

Under any other circumstance, he would have found this annoying and seen it as one of those times that she was showing her rude behavior but in this one, not so much.

He could see the fact that she was genuinely sorry, he was furious but at the same time her words, that care in her eyes softened his soul.

He was left shocked the next moment when she said the Three words he never thought bye would hear her say.

"I am sorry." She apologized.

His jaw dropped.  She lifted the back of her palm and wiped her eyes.

" Are you crying? "He asked, sounding amused.

" No, why would I ? "

He smiles. " You were crying. "

She tilted her head up just so, the tear wouldn't fall. The whole situation appeared to remind her of the day her father was murdered facing the same fate.

His arm is slung around the arms of the chair holding it in what looked to be an iron

grip. The sheets are ruined, stained with the blood that still made its way out of the bandages.

He shifts uncomfortably in the mess. "You know I was mad at you that previous night, but seeing you Walk through the door and seeing that look in your eye, I didn't know how best to react to all of this."

" Once again I am sorry, if truly it is worth anything, I regret my actions. "

They locked gazes and it was starting to look as though they might just work out fine. She had a smile on her face all through this while. The moment seemed like a pause in time.

Just then they were distracted by the man entering the room again, Brock was just ending the call as he got in.

"We found a lead, he is right they are from the craven."

"What are you waiting for, send men down there."

Logan groans. " No don't, I would delay this for now then deal with this my way. "

The true intent of his words was in his eyes, they glowed sequentially with his words.

"Very well then, we would do it your way."

The moment was again filled with silence, she shared a look with the man. " We would do it your way."

She was about to speak when the nurse came in expressing his need to rest—
