CHAPTER 31

Sean made his way up the stairs, not stopping until he reached the spot where the man in black had stood. He looked down from there, as if trying to see for himself what the man had been watching.

However, there was nothing unusual—nothing that caught his attention. He couldn’t figure out what the man had been looking at.

Had it just been a coincidence?

Sean shook his head. No, it couldn’t have been. The man from earlier didn’t look like a guest; he was dressed far too strangely for that.

If that man was still inside the building, Sean needed to find him.

Without hesitation, he turned and headed for the upper floor. His footsteps echoed faintly as he climbed, his eyes sweeping every corner, every hallway. The lights overhead buzzed softly, the silence growing heavier the higher he went.

He checked each corridor, every open door—storage rooms, lounges, even the emergency exit. But the man was nowhere to be found. It was as if he’d vanished.
