Sean made his way up the stairs, not stopping until he reached the spot where the man in black had stood. He looked down from there, as if trying to see for himself what the man had been watching.

However, there was nothing unusual—nothing that caught his attention. He couldn’t figure out what the man had been looking at.

Had it just been a coincidence?

Sean shook his head. No, it couldn’t have been. The man from earlier didn’t look like a guest; he was dressed far too strangely for that.

Sean stood on the corner of the industrial block, his eyes scanning the storefronts, a frustrated tightness coiling in his chest. He had already checked three different shops, and the limited edition was nowhere to be found. Every clerk had offered the same sympathetic shrug: “Sold out within the first ten minutes of the drop, man.”He pulled out his phone, hovering over a second-hand marketplace app. A few listings appeared, but the prices were inflated, and the boxes looked worn. He shook his head, dismissing the idea instantly. Liana’s immune system was still fragile, her body recovering from the neurological bridge; he couldn’t risk bringing a used, dust-caked item into her sterile environment. She deserved something pristine. Something new.‘I’ll have to try the warehouse districts further north,’ Sean thought, tucking the phone away. ‘Or maybe call in a favor from the Shell’s procurement line.’He began walking back toward the matte-black Spectre, his mind already calculat

  • CHAPTER 358

Rosalind gritted her teeth, resisting the urge to scream. She was trapped caught inside the very building she had come to reclaim, while Chloe was helpless outside, and the one man who could have helped her had vanished into the North District crowds. Her breath came in sharp, ragged hitches as Denis’s fingers dug into her biceps, his grip like iron manacles. Heat radiated from Cruz as he stepped into her space, his eyes alight with wounded pride and sadistic glee.“You really thought you could come into my house and strike me?” Cruz whispered, his voice trembling with quiet, terrifying rage.He reached out, his thumb hovering near her jaw, the place he’d meant to bruise but stopped short, savoring her defiance.“The Springfield problem has always been the same,” he continued softly. “You think you’re untouchable because of the name on the door. But look at you now. Just a woman in an expensive suit, held by a man who doesn’t care who your father was.”Rosalind’s brows drew together,

Inside the soundproofed office, the air felt thick and stagnant, charged with the static of a brewing storm.Rosalind held her ground, spine rigid as the steel beams of the building itself.Across from her, Cruz Ashby leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled beneath his chin, watching her with the predatory patience of a man who believed he held all the high cards.“Rosalind, look at the bigger picture,” Cruz said, his voice slipping into a smooth, practiced cadence meant to soothe. He tilted his head, faint, synthetic concern etched across his features.“The Springfield name is tarnished. The market is already reacting to rumors of Nate’s departure. If you fight me, you only accelerate the collapse. But if you walk away now, I can ensure a soft landing for your personal accounts. Think of your mother… she’s always bragging about you. Think of the lifestyle your brothers are accustomed to.”Rosalind’s upper lip curled in pure disgust. She didn’t blink, her gaze boring into his wit

Chloe’s eyes widened in shock. She had no idea what was happening; everything seemed to blur together. Her eyes narrowed as she reread the message, trying to make sense of it.No matter how closely she looked, the message remained the same."Oh no," Chloe whispered, her heart hammering against her ribs. "He’s doing it right now. He’s draining the secondary reserves!"She lunged toward the glass doors, pounding her fists against the reinforced pane."Ms. Springfield! Rosalind! Stop him! He’s emptying the reserves!"Denis, the lead guard, stepped in front of her, expression immovable."Move! You idiot, move!" Chloe screamed, trying to duck under his arm. "They're robbing the company blind right under your nose! Let me in there!""Orders are orders," Denis grunted, shoving her back firmly. "Nobody enters until Mr. Ashby says so."Chloe stumbled backward, staring at her tablet in horror as the numbers continued to plummet toward zero. She was helpless, trapped in the lobby while company

  • CHAPTER 354

Sean pulled the matte-black Spectre into a reserved spot in front of The Collector’s Vault. He didn’t turn the engine off immediately. Instead, he sat in the cabin's quiet, eyes fixed on the side-view mirror. He had seen her.Even through the filtered glass of two high-end vehicles, he would recognize the curve of Rosalind’s profile anywhere.“Rosalind,” he murmured, his grip tightening on the steering wheel for a fleeting second. He watched the silver sedan disappear around the corner toward the main Acheron lobby.Part of him wondered what she was doing in this part of town; it wasn’t her usual territory. Then he shook his head, clearing the thought. He didn’t have the luxury of dwelling on his ex-wife’s business. Whatever had brought her here, she could handle herself.“Well,” Sean sighed, relaxing his shoulders, “I didn’t come here for her. I have a mission from a much more demanding boss.”He stepped out of the car, the butterfly door closing with a soft, expensive hiss. His

The medical wing of the Sterling Shell felt noticeably warmer now that the heavy silence of the coma had lifted. On the small bedside table, two empty bowls sat stacked, evidence of the broth and soft grains Sean had painstakingly prepared. Liana looked better, her color returning, though she still leaned heavily against the propped-up pillows."Sean?" Liana called, her voice much clearer than it had been an hour ago.Sean, who had been checking her hydration levels on the monitor, turned toward her."Yeah? You need more water?""No," she said, a small, mischievous glint appearing in her eyes, a look that reminded him of her before the world fell apart. "I need you to do something for me. Something… non-medical."Sean sat on the edge of her bed, crossing his arms. "I'm listening.""I need you to get my action figure. The limited-edition 'Star-Gazer' from the season finale," she said, her hands gesturing excitedly. "I was supposed to pick it up the day… well, before everything happene
