Albert smiled and then approached, sitting beside Astrid without hesitation while crossing his legs.

Seeing this, Astrid shot Albert a glare, speaking coldly. "Albert, you can't just act freely in my house!"

However, instead of being scared, Albert leaned back on the sofa still eating the apple in his hand without responding to Astrid's words.

Astrid clenched her fists tightly, holding back the anger that was beginning to boil within her.

"Albert, I will count to three, if you…"

Astrid's voice caught in her throat as Albert suddenly moved closer to her and held her chin to tilt her head up to look at him.

Astrid froze, swallowing hard—feeling a strange vibration she had never felt before as she gazed into the handsome man's face.

"Miss Astrid, believe it or not, but I'm the only one here who can help you out of this mess," Albert said with a mischievous smile.

Astrid quickly came to her senses and pushed Albert's hand away, pointing at him. "You…"

Her voice fell silent again as Albert grabbed Astrid's hand and pulled her closer, their faces nearly touching. Albert's breath made Astrid look at him intently.

The more she observed him, the faster her heart beat, and her face turned a rosy red.

Albert poked Astrid's nose, then released her and stood up. "The contract is just for you, so all decisions are in your hands, don’t mind the sycophants around, even if they are your own family."

Astrid quickly regained her composure and looked up. "What do you mean?"

Albert leaned forward, both of his hands intentionally pressing on the sofa right beside Astrid, making her reflexively lean back.

Their gazes met, and Astrid's heart raced even more as Albert brought his face closer; she closed her eyes as if surrendering to whatever Albert was about to do.

"Without the Ramon family, you can stand on your own, don't you want to prove that to them?" Albert said, then stood up again, turning his back and leaving.

Astrid slowly opened her eyes, and seeing Albert had left, she shouted, "Albert, I will kill you!"

Calmly, Albert called back while raising his hand as he exited the villa. "I look forward to it!"

"You damned beggar! Why did I take him on as my subordinate!" Astrid grumbled angrily at herself.

However, Astrid realized that she was not mad because of Albert's boldness but because she hoped that man would touch her.

Astrid held her hot cheeks and shook her head while smiling in disbelief.

"No, no, how could I have feelings for a beggar like him. Astrid, don’t think like that…" She tried to dismiss those feelings. Yet, curiosity lingered in her heart, "but why does Albert know about this contract and he seems so confident in what he said, not only this time but previously Mr. Adnan was also suddenly fired."

Astrid tried to digest all the unusual occurrences she thought had been happening. Ever since she hired Albert, strange events had come in succession.

From her supposed trouble with Adnan, it was Adnan who got fired and went to jail, and now there was a contract issue, even though she hadn’t told anyone, but Albert already knew about it.

"I need to investigate him," she murmured softly, then called out. "Firman!"

Firman, who was always on guard near the entrance, rushed in as soon as he heard his mistress's shout.

Once in front of Astrid, he slightly bowed and asked, "What is it, Miss?"

"Investigate Albert's background, I want all the information about him in detail!" Astrid ordered firmly.

Firman was a bit confused about why his mistress needed detailed information about Albert, who was just a beggar. However, he did not refuse and immediately agreed before leaving to carry out the order.

Meanwhile, Albert was casually walking out of the Villa just to stroll around and get to know the area when suddenly the System provided a notification.

[Ding!

Congratulations, Sir, you have gained 10% trust from Astrid Ramon. You are entitled to use 10% of the assets.]

Albert was obviously very happy to hear that, as he finally obtained the assets that had been accumulated through good deeds.

[Ding!

The trust from Astrid Ramon decreased by 8%, you are now entitled to use 2% of the assets.]

Just as he was about to be happy, bad news came immediately, which clearly made Albert very angry. He clenched his fists and cursed.

"Damned System! Lizard, go away, you dog!"

Albert's breath was heavy as he expressed his anger without hesitation. He had just been happy to enjoy his wealth, but was already brought down again.

[Sir, your 2% wealth is 2 billion dollars with details: 1 villa number one in Jantaka city, 10 limited edition sports cars, 10 limited edition watches, and 100 thousand dollars in your account.]

Hearing that, Albert was even more emotional. "Wow, you really love to make me angry. Why am I only allowed to use 100 thousand dollars, damned!"

[Sir, this is already according to the rules.]

"Take that useless rule!" Albert shouted, unable to contain his frustration.
